Subaru always throws herself into thing 100%. It's incredible to see how much she's grown with English conversation.
It's like a very small step below fluent it's insane.
I still can't decide whether Subaru wanted to say "smooth" or "soothing" when she said "smoothing", but watching this live had me so giddy.
I feel like it could be both and she ended up mixing them instead of saying them separately lol.

Out of all the Hololive JP girls, Subaru has DEFINITELY shown the most improvement in her English. Yes, Chloe and Lui are also good at English, but considering what Subaru's English level was at ~2 years ago compared to now, she's definitely grown the most.
To be fair, Subaru (to my knowledge) is also the only besides Haachama to actually live outside of Japan for a period of time.
I love these 2 so much. Ina got THIRTY call-ins! That has to be a record, and it really shows how much everyone loves her, and how much everyone in Hololive support each other.

I like how Subaru struggle It's less about English and more about keeping the Shuba voice while speaking in another language. In a way Ina and Subaru are polar opposites, and yet they complete each other perfectly.

What you said is purely speculation, I would want people to take it with a grain of salt.
People have no idea about what her "real voice" is, some think it is her low range, other times people think her high range is. Peoples voice pitch can change with their emotions and reactions. And with an extrovert like subaru it is far more likely to be the case.
Try to speak a different language and tell me if you have the same voice of your native one, most probably you will not, even more with a language really different from your own, I've seen it with a lot of peoples, it's not that surprising
@@Rinnemi I actually know her "real" voice, because she uses it on her Twitcast files, without counting her old videos, where she even tried a cute moe voice for a while,. No need to get so offended or defensive. What I meant by "Shuba Voice" is her more loud, stretch and raspy tone. When talking in English she keeps coming back and forth, which is not only cute, but also impressive. As expected from her.
Sounds like she's much less trying to keep her "Shuba" and more just trying to pull the right words to use while being very nervous.

I've been thinking about why it's so nice to see people communicate across language barriers.
I think part of it is that restricted language options keeps everything more simple than usual. You're typically only saying what you really mean to say and nothing more.
Another factor is that it's fun to see what surprising vocabulary options others have learned in a secondary language.
As someone who is living in a different country with a different language, I can relate with Subaru. Nothing makes you happier than being understood and be able to hold an entire conversation

btw everyone subaru has been on an exchange to Canada at one point so her english understanding is actually one of the best in hololive , she has most problems with the pronunciation since she does not have too many opportunities to use her english. she is also a superhero fan so she properly has watched a bunch of superhero movies.

It's always nice to see Subaru trying to speak English. It's broken English, and it might seem awkward, but she's not afraid to keep on trying. Other members that understand a bit of English would be too shy to even use a little bit of it or worried that they might said something wrong, but Subaru seem so eager to simply talk in English. She's truly the shining extrovert of Hololive.
