The modern era had a comic 2-pack with a new issue by Larry Hama that actually showed how kindly Dr. Binder was changed into Dr. Mindbender via the accident with his dental machinery. Personally, and some vintage Joe fans might think it's blasphemy to even acknowledge that era, but the V5 figure from the Spytroops era had him in a proper lab coat and glasses and is a design I generally prefer- though I suppose his usual outfit does remind everyone on first glance that he is insane, and perhaps makes him look cartoonish. They were probably trying very hard not to bring up connections with Dr. Mengele or similar individuals with the character, let alone his mind control gimmick running a risk of comparisons with MK Ultra. Maybe it was for the best they made him outlandish and gave him a funny outfit rather than sticking him in a lab coat and having him work in the shadows. (BTW, I'll apologize if my comments are getting a little frequent, but I'm a few years behind on watching your vids and have been catching up on them the past week or so).
