I wish someone told me these things. After getting my first car, it took me a year to figure out how to turn on my low beams. I always ended up using highbeams, thought my low beams were my drls
I just got my licence, and today when I drove in the evening, I used the daytime light thinking it's the regular light. Fortunately, no accident happened. Thank you for your helpful videos!!
Yeah it's because the icons for both the daytime running lights and the normal lights are the same, whereas the high beams icon is the only differentiating icon to know when they're on. And trust me, I also made that mistake as well~ Fortunately, my car now doesn't have an off position, but instead always defaults to automatic, where there's a sensor near the windshield of my car so that it knows when to turn on the lights depending on the amount of ambient light outside.

Ohhh sh*t. I've been using the daytime light when driving at night for 6 months.. thought it was for driving at night. Luckily I didnt get any ticket or get into trouble. Glad that I found this clip haha. Should've read the manual...
@@sanilmaharjan5227 there are two lights, daytime running lights are sometimes just small lights in front or it will be high beams but half dimmed, so basically driving like this you cant see the road, you blinding drivers ahead and on the opposite side and nobody can see you from behind. Also there is a ticket for driving like this most states is between 60-100$ and ontario was 80$ last time i checked. regural lights, ie low beam is pointing on the road instead of other drivers so you can see the road and people can see you. Last thing if on a very dark road you driving with daytime lights only and you get rear ended by someone with a dashcam then by most insurrance companies you will be found at fault not 50% but 100%, so make sure to drive with low beam at night, not daytime running lights
Same here. I’ve been driving for 32 years, but I just got a new car. I never even knew that there was such a thing as daytime running lights! My old car didn’t have that. I’ve had to drive at night and I could barely see the road! I could only see when I turned the switch to regular lights, but I thought those were the high beams. I’m sure a lot of people make this mistake, because the symbols look alike for high beams and regular. And I did read my manual, but I still couldn’t figure it out. Glad I found this video!
I've been driving for over 20 years and was just looking up the daytime running light feature of vehicles and came across this video. Really great content even for a longtime driver.
I learned a lot about road and tips with him than the driving school i went to. some driving school normally will just teach you driving around residential because thats where the driving test will take place. They dont teach this stuff at driving school. Im getting better driver because of Conduite Facile. I actually passed my driving test because of his videos. Thank you Conduite Facile👍🏻
Slight correction about the high beams. As a standard practice, pushing and pulling on the turn signal lever will both light the high beams. However, pulling the lever toward you will activate them only momentarily, for when you may need to check some information and then deactivate them to avoid creating a nuisance or because you simply no longer need them because you've identified whatever it was you needed to cast light on. Pushing the lever forward will turn the lights on by toggling them, and they will remain on until you manually pull the lever back to the neutral position.
All of my lessons and my test were all in the morning or, at most, in the late afternoon when there was still plenty of light. I never really got a chance to practice driving at night with an instructor. Considering here where I live most schools finish their last lesson by 7, I imagine thats the case for the majority of learners.
Ever since i started my driving lessons i used to come here to watch his videos and learn more and more and today was my final test and guess what i passed guys i am so happy and thanks alot to this mexican guy 🥰🥰🥰🥰💓💓
