First time in life I heard this sounds... i was deep impressed... and the modern music was a good friend und source of calm, peace and power in my life. I thank my teacher !

The graphical representation was actually provided by Stockhausen as the original published score. He used it to guide his snipping and pasting of little pieces of pre-recorded tape to actually produce the sounds. (At least, I THINK I remember that he used that method -- I haven't looked at the printed score and instructions in about 55 years!) But the nature of the score and how to interpret it (as detailed by izckloable, above) makes it especially suitable to being interpreted by a computer program. Someone should write a program to play Stockhausen's Plus-Minus ... for pretty much the opposite reason: It's a set of instructions for a complicated process of actually COMPOSING the piece, and would never be composed the same way twice. IIRC, your version is supposed to start from the final state of someone else's previous version. Then you're supposed to send your version (or just its final state?) to a sort of database for the next person to use to start their version. But the instructions are complicated so, again, it would be a good computer programming exercise.

The upper line and bottom line of each rectangle is the highest and lowest frequency of each sound and the remaining three lines arent shown but you could read them off if you would divide each rectangle in 5 same parts. I hope this was understandable.

No work. That "score" is a demo patch that comes with Max/MSP. The interface is shown in the bottom part of the video.

With the new 'mc' objects in Max 8 one can probably trigger the whole spectrum and not just 5 sine waves per region.
