He’s already keeping it up. Nuguse is well-known in collegiate running and set the all-time 1500m record last year. It’s clear the announcer is not a follower of the sport.

Naguse is amazing, but you've got to factor in the new, high-tech SHOES. This is why so many guys have already run sub-4 for the indoor mile (more than in history, and the indoor season isn't over yet.) If these shoes existed when Steve Scott was in his prime, the U.S. outdoor record might be 3:45 low.
