  • G'day G'day,
Continuing on from last video, after our beautiful evening on the salt pan aan a short trek from Poeppel Corner we headed back to the stunning Eyre Creek we'd witnessed the day before. A once in a 10-20 year occasion according to local Birdsville folks. Eyre creek rarely runs, it needs a lot of localised rain fall or the Diamantina River is in flood, even then a combination of both usually will fill the script. Although it added 80 odd kms to the trip it provided one of the most epic experiences that we'll remember for the rest of our lives. camped at the base of a red dune on some green grass and bathing in the waters of the desert. It was not captured on video, however... whilst enjoying the campfire we were blessed with one of the biggest/closest meteors of our lives also. The sky whistled and we all locked onto what then started glowing into a big fire ball. It lit the night like day with a purple hue, it lasted all of about 3 seconds. We were stunned, awestruck and in disbelief. It reminded us of how small we are in the universe but also how blessed we are for the experience we were having in that special place among the Simpson Desert.
    Enjoy!

We've been told to put the Bedourie races on our to do list. Apparently one of the best outback events you could attend. Might just show up there one day.

I noticed your wife at one time I had a pink sweatshirt on that, said Phoenix.
I was just wondering did y’all visit Phoenix Arizona at some point?
I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work. 🤠

G'day mate. No unfortunately we haven't visited Phoenix, hopefully one day.
Just a sweatshirt (we call them jumpers) with a random name on it.
Glad you enjoy the videos. Appreciate you saying so. Have a good weekend.

      Cheers mate.
The next day there were no issues. We got back to Birdsville and lifted it up and I spected. Found nothing.
So put it down to a bit of debris or rock that might have found its way into somewhere and then found it's way out again.
