Wow. I literally thought to myself, dang this is sexy. I just started playing. You have a very elegant build. I’m in Tier 3 and rats are constantly popping up and waste. So I’m handling that like whack a mole.
Thank you all for watching, i have modified my design for the perfect city, and will be releasing the perfect city 2. I've incorporated every new trick i've learned from all my builds these past few months into something sleeker, with 55 houses per market. A total of 660 population. With 56 fortified tower positions. A fortified storage area containing 5 stockyards, 7 storehouses, 2 vaults, the trade, the town center, 8 granaries and a few other buildings. a condensed industrial area with every single crafting building. All while reducing the overall size of the full design and increasing the defenses dramatically. I hope to release a video of this build and link the full design sometime in the next week. Wow what an amazing, comprehensive overview of this cool game, thank you. So easy to follow, well explained, can’t wait for more. Is there a way you could do a vid about the supply chains and worker movements? Like does a warehouse send out a worker to collect goods from a factory, or does the trader worker have to go out to gather all goods from factories/storage facilities. I notice workers interrupt their “job” to restock their houses, how often does that happen? Do they restock from market/storage or factory? Cheers.
That’s is a great video idea, thank you. My understanding is that each worker stocks their respective building. You will see a small description of what your workers are doing if you click on the building, and most the time it will say stocking or doing x. The ox carts will move lumber and stone from work camps , and the mines (clay, coal, iron, sand.) ox carts will also stock the temporary housing. Outside of that, all your building are stocked by the people working there, which is why I keep my production centered around a central storage area for efficiency.
And at least currently, guards in a tower, while their tower is being attacked by raiders, will stop shooting to run out and restock their tower. I'm guessing these kinds of things will get cleaned up as they continue to work out the kinks.
@@TacticatGaming One thing UA-cam is lacking, in my opinion, is lets plays by people who are informed about the game they are playing. You clearly seem well-informed and as such a lets play from yourself would be awesome. Regardless of what you choose to do, thanks for this video!
@@Loxley1187The early game is the most critical, half way through though it's very easy. But early game i rush for wheat and it does involve some technique as well are pre planning rapid expansion. I'll make a lets play showing that.
Agree. You can't possibly start with this design at the start. Your hunters, gathers, fishing, etc. So how do you transition to this. And how do you get so much flat land for your town.
@@melindawhite2696 You can move every building in the game but the town hall. click any building and look at the top right option. You can break it down for resources or move it. You just can't move the Town hall, so that has to be placed perfectly. I'm making a lets play that shows the first 2 hours of this build, should be out in the next hour it's rendering.
@@melindawhite2696 I don't know what to tell you... I simply place a small plaza over a road the same way I would place it in any other empty square 🤷♂ Do you have the requisite materials? : I think it costs 4 gold and some stone (maybe)?
Important update - as of patch 0.7.6 cows can now travel through wood/stone gates & Arborist yield around 5x the food making them a very great source of food.
A very nice layout I am just gonna try to build it by myself but you make a small but very small mistake marking stock yard and market marked same. I believe some people will understand that but some wont :D
Hi Ivan, thank you for watching. Are you referencing the Google Sheet layout, i'm not sure i understand? Some of the commerce area was the same color as the market, i've updated that. Let me know if that looks better! Thank you!

"Each manor only benefits once from each type of decoration" then proceeds to have two altars and three parks right next to each other. Spread those out some.
The parks in the central area are for aesthetics - everything else is placed to maximize desirability. The build puts all houses at 85 desirability and up and leaves room for aesthetics. Like having duplicate desirability buildings. As I explained in the intro. My goal was to combine both aesthetics with min maxing. You don’t need to spread anything out, it’s all accounted for on the google spreadsheet linked in the description.

ICYMI: Plaza decorations can be placed UNDER roads (and they also stack when adding to desirability)

How do you manage the preservists building as sand always seems to be lacking, the map runs out fast, and the traders seldom sell it?
I don’t produce preserves for that reason. I just focus on bread.

We’ve all been there. You should see my first cities…. Everyone died. On my 2nd game a bear killed half my town. The rest starved to death .
