The brawl content is some of my favorite as someone who doesn't even play magic anymore. The decision making process and explanation of plays and mechanics is much more fun to watch than the standard fare of here's how you beat mono black today.

Shouldn't be low views, standard is a dying/dead format except on mtga and hist brawl is the closest mtga will ever get to commander.
CGB just made my day. Love the historic brawl content. Not sure if it is competitive enough but one of my newest favorite decks is Shanna and would love to see a video of that deck at some point.

I love Historic Brawl at least once a week! A really cool format and I always love CGB's read and input on both decks and the format.
Towards the end of the game against Prosper, there were multiple top-decks from the opponent that would have been nice if you hovered over the card for a second so we could see it. You knew what the cards were, but personally I couldn't tell!
I'm always a fan of more HB content! I think the competitive slant is an interesting way to take it and would definitely watch more.

i only started playing historic brawl because of your decks, i tried the Raffine one, and then spended a lot of wildcards to make the tasha one and i love it!
More cHB please! I personally enjoy tribal decks (I have a soft spot for them since my first encounter with MTG was with two tribal decks a friend showed me). That being said, giving tribals a competitive spin checks all the boxes with a balance of fun/flavorful and, well, competitive (read as win). Keep it up, finding good ways to make the channel grow is where it's at!

Having recently started playing commander irl(borrowed deck) Vs standard arena (not enough cards to make a viable historic brawl) I feel I have rediscovered the game, the sheer variance of plays, the emotion of what's the next you could topdeck, having a cards that not necessarily change the board but buy time... Against wizards ring standard where something less of a perfect curve is a lost game and control has a snowball chance in hell because the algorithm favours short matches...😝
I like the idea of a dedicated day of the week for some sort of alternative game, even if I mostly watch for the standard content.

I love historic brawl. I did have to stop playing though as the match maker doesn't allow enough variation in decks with it pairing up with "similar power" commanders.
Not a fan of alchemy cards either so I'm playing explorer now and having a blast.

Love the HB videos and they tend to be longer as well, which is a bonus. Not so much a fan of the Paradox Engine, though. It creates the same game patterns so nothing interesting happens. It was banned in Commander for a reason but somehow it is still in HB.

I for one welcome "Friday Night Brawls." After all the really competitive commanders get played, it would be interesting to see CGB takes on more traditionally janky commanders

If somebody drops an Esper Sentinel turn 1 against my brawl control deck with no removal in hand, I know it's over and I just concede. Basically, they just spent 1 mana to draw roughly 5 cards (counting the removal card you eventually have to use on it as 1 draw) which is basically a game-winning advantage.
Well you can just wait 1 turn on everything, so play your 2 mana card on turn 3, 4 mana card on turn 5, etc. If they aren't playing an aggro deck it's usually fine to delay a turn because they aren't doing anything else threatening early on anyway. The only time I find turn 1 sentinel backbreaking is if their commander is Raffine, because they can connive onto it and you end up having to pay a lot more to prevent them from drawing (I've had a 10 power sentinel with Raffine before which means they had to pay 10 to prevent the draw lol)
@@1ryb360 I disagree on the delaying drops thing. Mana is too important. My understanding is that missing a land drop on turn 3 (missing your third land) as a control player who went second is basically game over. Similarly, being 1 mana behind for the first couple turns of the game is pretty awful. Multiple dark rituals played in succession and thoughtseize are pretty much the only other turn 1 plays that can essentially win you the game.

How does this deck win (aside from Approach of the Second Sun)? We don't get to see the win condition in these games because people scoop. Do you just lighting bolt their face 10x with the combo or am I missing something?
You use tome of the infinite and paradox engine to lighting bolt face over and over
You should check out Mono black magic's newest deck! It would be phenomenal to see you play that mad machine. I'm sure he'd love to see it happen too.
