I am a second time bar taker and it's been almost a year since i took the exam the first time. This video was great to educate me on what my options are!
great video. taking the bar for the 2nd time because i've moved states...I was going to go with Themis just because I did last time and it worked, but I'm going with Barmax this time....black letter law outlines are mainly what I rely on for studying....i'm also part-time working so the more streamlined approach is perfect.
I don't really wanna be a lawyer but I watched the show suits a while back and was scrolling through you're videos, I love how many topics in the general subject of courses and education you cover on you're channel!
Hey John, I will be taking the February bar and a free bar course would really be a huge help. Thank you so much for the advice as I was struggling with the decision to take the Quimbee exam because it is the only one I can even consider as an option.
Thanks for the review, John. I am now quite sure that I am going to buy StudiCata instead. Great price, very clear video lectures, and tons of practice questions. As a foreign attorney, I'm also impressed by how comprehensively Michael from Studicata explains the material!
University of California, Berkeley. Hi John, a free bar prep course would be a massive game changer for me (I'm from Australia and currently doing pro-bono work at a death row organization). Cheers, Anneke
Foreign attorney here and I would truly appreciate your recommendations for an extended bar prep affordable course 6 months for example. I have not seen many options available.
Take a look at Themis. Easy to read outlines with all the black letter law and simple software. Don’t advise Barbri - very long outlines, long videos and the questions on the MBE are not the real ones but created by Barbri very big “no no” because you need to practice real MCQ.
Eduardo's stoked with your best 2024 Bar Prep Courses! Eduardo used BarBri to pass the bar exam over 35 years ago, but it was the only course around back then. Kaplan sounds like an excellent black letter law prep course, with BarMax not far behind. Studicata looks very interesting also. Looks like BarBri has been passed by the new kids on the block. Thanks for your great video John - have you ever thought about running for POTUS?
I am taking the bar exam in February. Unfortunately, Kaplan only offers live lectures for the July bar exam. With that in mind, which bar prep course would you recommend? Thank you.
We've received this same request a bunch and we're working on a video just for this. But in short, we'd recommend sticking with Kaplan for foreign trained lawyers
Thanks! I think it would be helpful to rate combos. For example, could studicata be #1 if combined with barprep hero? seems to me like a realistically helpful type of review.
If you're working full time, you'll need something leaner, as you probably won't have time to study 6-7 hours per day. I'd suggest checking out LSATMax or Studicata. Good luck!
Univeristy of Nebraska. Also, Studicata is running an April special taking $1,000 off. Is that enough to alter your value ranking for value pick over Quimbee?
This was very helpful, thank you! I went to Univ of Florida- passed the Florida bar in 2005. I will be taking the NY bar in July and looking for the best bar review class. Do you have any specific suggestions for a licensed lawyer who has been out of school a very long time? I was thinking of something more comprehensive as a result- like BarBri or Kaplan. I do want a course that offers hard copy books. Also, I plan to study full time for roughly 3 months. Any thoughts? Thanks again!
I agree with your analysis - a more comprehensive course like Kaplan or Barbri would be best. You will need full scale review, so plan to take a more robust course. I have a preference for Kaplan
So happy I found this video! It's nice to be able to hear about them all in comparison to each with pros and cons from someone who ACTUALLY has reviewed them. And I appreciate you posting discount codes!!! Thank You!!!

Hey, I am hesitating to go for Studicata. What did you think about it ? I am also a foreign student !
Thanks for this. I'm looking to switching from the English jurisdiction to America, so this info was valuable. Thanks.
Glad we could help!

Very helpful review, thanks so much John! I currently attend North Carolina Central University School of Law.
Awesome! Good luck on the exam
Thank you for such helpful information! What are your thoughts on Ameribar for the Washington DC Bar? Thanks!!
Can you make a video about being campus reps for these programs? Would love to know your thoughts.
Interesting video idea - thanks for the tip. We'll do that!

No POTUS run for me haha - Thanks for watching

Thanks for this information! Would love to hear what bar prep "add ons" are worth it.
huh that's a good idea for a new video - thanks!
Are there any that grant access when you purchase so I can study for longer than 2 months? Cramming doesn’t work for me
I think Kaplan provides 90 days of access, and Studicata includes lifetime access. Good luck!
@@TestPrepInsightPeople pay 2 or 3 thousand for only 2 or 3 months of access?
I'm curious, do you have any views about which bar prep course might be best for a working lawyer from another country?
We've received this same request a bunch and we're working on a video just for this. But in short, we'd recommend sticking with Kaplan for foreign trained lawyers
Hey! I attended UofL Law in Kentucky. I’ve always wondered if Studicata was good.
Yes it is, and thanks for sharing!! Good luck!
How do you feel about the newer courses from Helix?
Thanks! I think it would be helpful to rate combos. For example, could studicata be #1 if combined with barprep hero? seems to me like a realistically helpful type of review.
Absolutely! That could work well
Great video. What would you suggest for someone working full time seeking to start bar study in February?
If you're working full time, you'll need something leaner, as you probably won't have time to study 6-7 hours per day. I'd suggest checking out LSATMax or Studicata. Good luck!
Went to CUNY School of Law
Kaplan doesn’t provide bar course for California. Can you throw some light on this @john
This is helpful, but NO ONE in my cohort at school is doing Kaplan, no one is even talking about Kaplan. That makes me a little nervous!
why themis is not on the list?
Univeristy of Nebraska.
Also, Studicata is running an April special taking $1,000 off. Is that enough to alter your value ranking for value pick over Quimbee?
$1000 off is a really good sale, that could change my pick on "value"
What do you recommend for a foreign trained lawyer ? Which prep course ?
Cool content

@@TestPrepInsight Thanks so much. Do you get a set of hard copy materials with Kaplan?
Th Kaplan code doesn't not work.
