  • This is my "day 2" learning the Lowrance Active Target system. I turned the transducer 90 degrees to utilize "Scout Mode" and check out some shallower grassy areas.

I really enjoyed this video, almost like being at the lake watching my new AT2. Looking forward to more of your video's. Good job.

Very well explained video. You’re exactly right, just because they are there doesn’t mean they’re going to bite. I fight the notion of staying in a spot WAY too long. I am still learning the FFS every day. Excellent work. Please do another video on the scout mode. 👍🏻👍🏻

Thank you Bruce. There are other videos in which I use it, but these were my first two days figuring it out.

After watching it seems that finding the structure first with side or down imaging and then looking to see if there are fish there would be the ticket. I know the video game aspect works with crappie fishermen using live imaging but for bass I think the structure is key and then see if anyone is home and then try to avoid the video game temptation and just fish the spot. If no biters after your regular fishing routine go find another spot and if fish are there, fish it .
Now you have me wondering if live imaging will work on a kayak in wavy conditions? Dead calm while anchored is fairly rare.

What pole mount do you use? It looks super functional

Jeff, is that the trd bugz? You said a zman palmetto bug. I wasnt sure if zman made a palmetto. Not trying to be a smartazz, but I'm a zman fanatic and wasnt sure if I miss one...lol

It’s a Palmetto BugZ. It’s my favorite Z-Man soft plastic.

@@zoommaster7253 both are beaver style baits. BugZ is a much smaller version. More suitable for fishing on a traditional mushroom head jig ala Ned rig.

The image is impressive. I have the HDS 9 Live. Do they sell the handle/rod mount for pontoon rails? Thanks.

I’m sure that it could be rigged. I was at the Bassmaster Classic, and there were several booths with Active Target or Panoptix transducer mounts like the one I got from The Dugout, but with longer poles for a boat you stand up in.

Did you hack it and drill a hole with that single screw from the base plate to the 90 lock and load yak attack adapter?

I know that I chopped the pipe, moved the set screw and did a few other modifications to make it work with the low mounting position of my inflatable.
