They aren't fighting over the guy. They are disrupting his game he is running on their friends. It's a "Dont fall for this guy and make the same mistake I did" theme. She shot the phone not Yuna, Lia drops are rock on the dude (assumed) and they are just preventing their friends from making a mistake. Not jealousy.
truee! and i think the song wants to convey that women must know their own worth, and they shouldn't lower their standards just for a red flag boy. it still screams "love yourself"
I mean that's what I thought the initial concept they were going for 🤷♀
I dont think so. They're definitely fighting each other. You can see through the scenes like, lia biting ryujin, yeji pulling yuna's leg, the stare they give each other and so on...
@@xMrFlyx She pulled her leg to stop her from going to the dude. Lia just imagined how she could interupt the conversation, she didn't actually do it. They covered it in the behind video, not jealousy, it's prevention.
I think this is a very face value song and it’s just your classic 2000s inspired fighting over a boy story
sounds like a 2000’s song and I love it!! 💕
The purpose of this song is an English song to perform and promote on US TV (morning and evening shows) SEE Kpop fans already know kpop, but MOST of the US gen public isn't going to sit through a group doing a Korean or any foreign language song on the show they watch, they will watch English songs but not a Korean one, They will tune out, turn the channel or grab a snack or a drink. ITZY and JYP know this. The English song is in a style that Americans are used to, they like, and have by and large historically shown is marketable. So Good Morning WHATEVER city, ITZY can flex their performance skills and introduce people to their group, and maybe grow their fandom even more, open some people's minds to foreign artists that would otherwise NOT LISTEN. You are kpop fans, as we all are, you already like what they do and have done, this isn't specifically for you or for me, I still LOVE the song. But I understand what it is, why it is and why it is right now. This is an introduction of ITZY to the US general public in style proven to be marketable.
Well said! I 100% agree with this
@@chatnoir-i8x if you realize the stans that drag this song are from another fandom, most of them, fans that have been dragging itzy for a long time, it's not only because of the song, that's what they grabbed,
no offence but if you marketed this song to the western gp itzy would flop so hard. this is nothing remotely close to the music the west gp like and to figure that out you just need to listen to the popular songs we listen to here. the lyrics especially would put off so many people. JYPE set them up with this one I hope they come back stronger.
@@chatnoir-i8x it has a vaguely similar melody to love story but love story is a classic masterpiece internationally because it has a better track, better melody, and much better lyrics. The comparison is nonsensical, Taylor Swift is incredibly successful so if this sounded anything like her it wouldn't get so much hate.
it’s not being promoted anywhere though? during the first 24 hours of release republic records didn’t even post about it. no playlisting, no iTunes new music banner, no interviews etc. if they’re still about* to promote it in the US i’m pretty sure they released the song too early.
i dunno about THROWAWAY, but I agree it's very tame for them. It almost feels like something a younger group like NewJeans should have done, not the girls who sung Mafia in the Morning.
As long as they can perform it consistently and mistake-free on tour, then it'll open up the door for more Eng. tracks and eventually songs they wrote themselves.
This isnt't a comback song this is just a pre- released for younger kids to understand about relationships with these types of boys. Its okay to not like the song, everyone is not into love songs nor wants girls to have a good relationship, People who called it childish because its English, a love song, and kid like but those fans are the same ones that listen to other English love song, they only hate this one because its ITZY. And I think it's sad that most fans don't want any groups to make music for western fans to like nor enjoy. The same thing happened to Stray kids "Case 143", many fans didn't like it because it was a love song and because hyunjin had a new hairstyle. Also BTS "Permission To Dance" were getting hate because the song was in fully English and it attracted Western fans more. Yes, everyone has different taste in music but people need to remember Idols/creators want to try something new for once instead of doing the same kind of songs all over again which can make other fans stop listening to them. Eastern fans need to remember music is for everyone, music should be made for different countries to enjoy, and that music shouldn't only be one language. If yall want western/southern fans to stop listening to yall music just say that, don't go and hate on the groups because they wanted to try something new for once.
All English lyrics, positive message, fun peppy beat...it will get played on American radio stations, young teen girls will love it, and their parents will approve. It's great marketing, but a little young and easy for Itzy. They have the skill and experience for more.
이 곡은 할로윈 시즌에 맞춘 미국 콘서트를 앞둔 선공개 수록곡이다. 있지의 일반적인 타이틀 곡처럼 큰 의미를 둘 필요는 없다.
the chorus SLAPS
It’s not a title track. By the way just B-Side
Imo this is one of the best English songs from a JYP group better than the feels and Moonlight Sunrise
The MV reminds me of Red Velvet's Russian Roulette MV.
The parts where they sabotage each other!
Love the song and MV though!
As much as I used to love itzy…the past comebacks just haven’t been it…and I thought it couldn’t get worse than sneakers but it literally sounds like a cringey parody of a ts song. What kinda production scraps is jype giving to these girls😢
Nah, it's a NO for me. Lately, JYP Ent. isn't giving good songs for they and that is a shame. These girls deserve better.
so he cant try nothing new for once, what a so called fans yall are shame
Idk who it is at the top of these kpop labels that keep thinking this, but "English speakers/people in the west" don't like these normal ass songs. They like the music the groups were already known for. Music doesn't have to be dumbed down because it's in another language, or another part of the world. It's not just kpop that has this problem though. Other cross-over artists like Shakira had much more unique music in their language. It doesn't need to be.."mainstream." I'd argue the music would be more successful it kept what made it unique.
is that taylor swift love story?
Yes, Sample

It’s a cute English song haha For me, it sounds like this should be in English, not sure if it makes sense. But super tame for Itzy, they still did great though but I prefer Kpop and this song wasn’t Kpop.
I agree with ace it is 100% throw away song I’m sorry but I love the girls I’m seeing them too in Chicago but the song is just a baby version of a Taylor swift song. :/ they deserved a better track. I appreciate the vocals in this like the high parts but the song is meh
It sounds juvenile, I would have loved it when I was in middle or HS so I have some good nostalgic feelings towards the song, but I’m not listening to it again.
Yes. Chorus of Love Story - Taylor Swift
I was looking forward to this track but it really under-delivered. I like itzy a lot and wish JYPE gave them better tracks this year. I also find it wild that this track is being compared to Taylor swift's older music because the only thing vaguely similar is the chorus melody but apart from that the song's lyrics, track and arrangement are definitely not it and absolutely no where near the classic hits Taylor was putting out back in the day. I hope they bounce back!
this is not a comback song just a pre-released for younger kids to understand relationship
2022 is really not itzy’s year
It's a bop though
@@ImProWise_1 not for me. its really bad.
@@skz.1208 respect your opinion
lol shut up they had top 3 at MELON
they became MILLION seller this year
Ugh
Poor ITZY.
One bad song after another.
