KIDS LEARNING BARRIERS | OVERCOMING BARRIERS

There are a number of factors that show that learners need differentiated learning and it is important to take into consideration all barriers to learning .
To know more about this:
Identify what could be the barrier - why is my child not able to perform well in school.
Some of the barriers could be - language - In an English School, kids would be expected to speak in English and write in English. If your child is coming from a background where a different language is spoken ..how can he/she be expected to perform well !?
Barriers to learning may include
learning needs, difficulties or disabilities;
English as an additional language; •
situations affecting a learner's home environment such as poverty;
medical needs, physical needs, e.g. sight or hearing problems;
• level of interest and engagement in a subject; • high level of absence; • low level of motivation.
These are some of the bariiers … there could be more…
After identifying these issues, as a parent what can you do to help your child in his/her development?

@@KidseSeries mam my younger daughter is studying icse syllabus . She is 4 year old. She is able to identity and write alphabets . Individual sounds also she tells. But when it comes to blending she is not getting it at ease, even 2 letter ones. I didn't face this with my elder one who studied in montessori syllabus in primary years. But Writing was a bit of problem to her, she writes slowly n not very neat. Is there something specific that I can do for helping my younger one easily do sound blending. Thanks

@@harinisrikanth2567Hi Ms. Harini, Through regular practice she will soon learn to blend. It takes a little longer for some kids. She is just 4, but in about 6-8 months with regular practice, she'll be able to blend. Do arm blending and show her how sounds join together and make word. Be consistent and I'm sure she will pick it up. All the best! 💕
