Been there and filmed it many times. Dave had a crew that built the layout, and the Director is Michelle Kempema who does a great job being an advocate for the museum and has a great volunteer staff who support the necessary upkeep.
Simply one of the most impressive club style mega layouts I’ve ever seen, I’d love to visit one day. This definitely helps me imagine new ideas for my layout build. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I helped remodel a section of Mr. David Trussel’s home here in Pennsylvania where he had a huge collection of O gauge model trains. An absolutely great guy to talk to and he had a ton of Railroad knowledge.
Bryson City in North Carolina has a beautiful train museum. They also have passenger train to Dillsboro NC. It is diesel to Dillsboro and steam on the return trip. They also run a Polar Express during Christmas. Great fun, you're in that area.
