One of the greatest songs I ever heard -- great lyric, wonderful melody and excellent musicianship. Shane's gruff voice with Sinead's angelic voice is like potato chips and chocolate. Delicious. As far as I’ve read she didn’t have strong politics. She just didn’t like people abusing children and wanted to make a statement about that fact. She was right, and wanting to protect children is not political per se. have a nice day sir. 😀🙏✨
@@SolutionsWithin Indeed you are correct! Aside from the Qanon lunatics spouting nonsense, there is indeed nothing wrong with trying to protect children. That said, as a correction to you, she made numerous statements which are, at least in the US, political issue including feminism (her short hair was, in her own words, a statement on traditional ideas of femininity), global climate change. She was quite vocal about being considered "left" in Irish politics and even called on Gerry Adams to back off.
@@davelister6632 Hi Dave. I am Irish Canadian. Here we don’t consider “feminism” or climate change to be “political.” With all due respect, feminism is an academic principle that we (men and women) can and should advocate for equality for everyone and for no violence against women, children, disabled people, and other minorities and disadvantaged people. It may not be apparent to all men immediately, but the result of equality and non-violence/non-abuse will be a boon and benefit to men as well b/c women are beneficial contributors to human advancement. The long term male dominated progress is lacking fullness in every way. Re. climate, there was a time about 10 years back that some climate scientists claimed that climate change cannot be proven to be caused by humans; however, more recently, virtually all scientists have come to agree that the updated empirical studies, data and facts show that it is real, humans are causing it, and that we should at least be trying to reduce carbon emissions immediately and intensely. The biggest problem is that our social and physical construct was not designed to function in super high temperatures, rising water, violent storms, decreased sea currents, etc., etc. There will be crop failures. The idea was that helpful changes can be made, but it needed to be done fast. That said, I think b/c not all politicians and citizens are on board, and of course b/c we can’t force all countries to acquiesce, I personally think it’s too late and the tipping point has already been crossed. I don’t think much can be done to stop destruction now b/c of the feedback loop that feeds climate change (i.e. mass melting of permafrost and people refusing to go vegan, etc. etc.). That said, there is a scientific argument to be made that humans could still mitigate the level or intensity of destruction that is to come, but sadly, I doubt they will organize enough or swiftly enough to accomplish that. I believe the only hope for this planet now is for the aliens (angels -good angels) to come and save us. That particular process may actually be currently initiating as well. Note that the aliens are feminists and believe in climate change too, and they do not approve of pollution or using animals or animal products for sustenance or abusing or imprisoning animals and they don’t care about human notions of politics. I do not mean any of this to sound antagonistic to you or anyone, I’m merely stating the truth. All the best to you ♾🙏✨
Sinéad was by far one of the most intelligent humans to walk this Earth! Sinead's "politics" were all about Irish pride and railing against two oppressor forces, the english and the catholic church. I refuse to give these two groups of oppressors recognition or respect by placing capital letters. The atrocities perpetrated by both oppressors including the Genocide we call An Gorta Mór (or as the english propagandists claim as a Famine...when, in fact, the Irish experienced surpluses throughout this timeframe but were purposefully and systematically murdered by the english through laws and policies against the Irish) as well as the molestation of Irish children and the destruction of Irish families by the priests, nuns, and church hierarchy are what fueled Sinéad's Truth Seeking and Truth Telling! Sinéad suffered untold abuse by her mum and others. SInéad was diagnosed as bipolar and depressive. These matters do not diminish her intelligence or her talent! Sinéad loved her country, her family, her people (The Irish Nation); she advocated for the Truth, she loved her art, she spoke her Truth, she spoke Truth to Power! She believed in women's rights, equality for all people, and advocating for those with mental health issues. Sinéad persevered even though the majority of the ignorant masses hated her without justification other than their pure ignorance! These same haters FINALLY learned the Truth that Sinead had long been telling DECADES after the world "canceled" her! Sinéad was eventually proven to be RIGHT!!! Sinéad had a brilliant Light. Now, Sinéad has been released from her physical bonds. May Sinéad's Light Shine forever! GRMMA for EXISTING Sinéad!

It appears I’m the only one who didn’t like this.
Two beautiful souls! How lucky we are to have had such musical geniuses our lives.
Je n'avais pas encore vu cette vidéo, merci. Ma belle irlandaise toujours aussi magique je t'aime infiniment ❤❤❤😢
SINEAD O'CONNOR and SHANE MACGOWAN are right now dueting this very song up in heaven. The world is a lot less joyful without these two,R.I.P you two.❤😢.
Both had barbed wire and velvet...two souls truly blessed and cursed...the world was lucky to have them for the time we did. Glad they got together for this tune. Suaimhneas siorai. ❤☮🌎
One of my favourite songs ever❤. Found it years ago from watching the movie "the matchmaker "
Back here again today for obvious reasons 😢.

Shane McGowan died today very sad news he's gone in the same year as Sinead O'Connor he was real rock n roll his music was inspiring and empowering two legends gone in the one year I absolutely loved the pogues so many classics rip Shane❤️
RIP Shane Macgowan, your legacy will live on through your music.
First time hearing this beautiful duet with Sinead.
I am so happy I found this!
And I felt a huge energy shift on the day of her passing n cried like a baby n didn't know why, until something told me to check the news, n that's when I discovered our precious n beloved Sinead had gone on to the other side. It truly breaks my heart over the massive suffering she'd endured by herself!🥀💔 But I am very thankful she suffers no more, n is in the 🕊️💛✨ of Yahshua Yahuah, now!🙏🏼
You will forever be remembered in our hearts n memories our beloved Sinead!
n truly missed!😔💐🍀🥀
R.I.P Sinéad and Shane. Two of the greatest musicians of all time. Legends. ❤️❤️❤️
Rest in peace Sinead, a trailblazer if there ever was one. Very much loved by the younger folks in Ireland. A great loss to the world of music.

They are together singing 🎶 the most beautiful lyrics… with the most beautiful voice
RIP Sinead
Another angelic voice gone too soon xx
Smacked. Can’t believe the kindness. Just shows the power of music. Cuts through every barrier. There is a rap god, and he’s looking after me. Keep the faith.
RIP to these legends.
The shy smile the first time she says, “you’ve got a way of talking” at 0:43. Wow. 🥰
This song is perfect the way they play off each other, sort of the bueaty and the beast aspect,I've been missing them a long time already.
Thank you Sinéad for the music and for all you did for mná na hÉireann (Women of Ireland) especially.. ❤️❤️❤️🎶🙏🦋✨🎧
omg
