- Do You Believe In Bigfoot? I get asked this question a surprising amount.

I recently had a friend ask me how "smart people" could believe in wild conspiracies and it got me thinking. I suppose it's fair to say that no matter what type of intelligence a person has, we all experience things in our lives we can't explain. Perhaps it's not as simple as believing or not believing in something.

I grew up in a world where Bigfoot was a common character and its lore spoken of by all - The Northwest United States, obviously. I never thought much of Bigfoot until, while working for the Forest Service in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, my dad and I went hunting and explored an old, abandoned service road deep in the mountains and came across a footprint that rattled my logic. It was a moment of pure terror and unexplainable curiosity. In the years since, I've come to understand how profound experiences like these are. Embracing that there are things beyond us that we cannot control can be scary but it’s also liberating. I think the mysteries of life keep us going.

We either saw a Bigfoot print on that day or there’s a large shoeless man with a size 25 foot who lives out there. Either way, the idea of a hoaxer being that deep off trail in the wilderness and leaving a fairly fresh print for two unsuspecting hunters seems like an equally absurd leap of logic.

I was never a believer until I witnessed not one but two myself. Two different encounters confirmed it for me. I never looked back. Check out the Genome project done by Dr. Melba Ketchum youll learn a whole lot on the subject.
Well done. I used to feel we could think things into existence. Now I feel we only access the catalog of everything that has always existed. There is no such thing as invention.
