thank you for saying ‘misunderstood’ when speaking of Mexico. as a mexican it saddened me hearing how many people are afraid (for good reasons) but there truly are amazing and friendly people there!
As someone who grew up on the border I've never understood it, as his friend said in the video *every* country has more dangerous and more safe areas. Mexico is a gorgeous country with amazing food, it's ridiculous to paint it with such a broad brush.
I initially started following you years ago because of Pokemon Go, but these videos where you travel and show us some of the culture of the places you visit are the videos I most appreciate now. Keep up the awesome work, Nick!
This Pokémon is fairly easy to catch if you take yearly trips to Mexico. I’ve caught about 5! Marcactus is also another regional that can be caught here.
I’ve been following your journeys for a while now and the way you deliver not only the best of Pokémon Go, but the coolest parts of traveling and having fun is so amazing. I gotta say that the storytelling in your videos are pure quality. And now coming here to my country and showing a huge part of the culture and history of Mexico for others to see in such a honoring and respectful way is so cool dude. I appreciate it so much. Glad you had fun! “Nick, hermano. Ya eres mexicano!!!”
I loved it! Love the culture, history and everything. The media sensationalism has a lot to with misinformation. I’ve been to countries (not Mexico yet) that are considered dangerous and never had any issues whatsoever. Enjoy but always stay aware. ❤️ from 🏴 💃
Fun fact: I’m sure I have one of the rarest Hawlucha’s out there. I was going to Mexico, and moments before I lost connection (and more importantly, the game didn’t register me in Mexico) there was a Hawlucha. So I have a Hawlucha under “Ajo, Az, United States”. Correct me if that’s not rare. Edit: This was earlier this year during the summer, with my family.
This is the first video of yours I’ve ever watched. Just found it after looking at some Pokémon Go videos and I can’t believe how profoundly affected I was by the heart and quality on display by everyone involved. Mexico looks mesmerizing and the people seem to be on a whole different level when it comes to hospitality and kindness. Thank you, thank you for putting this into the world.
Not many people can make a 44-minute video feel this engaging. I didn't even realize that much time had passed! Always love your travel videos, Nick. Was that a Frigibax in the nearby when you were at the wrestling match???
As someone who's never been to their home country of Mexico for reasons, I just started bawling seeing how beautiful my country is, and how much fun it looks. Obviously when I visit I'm going to catch myself a Hawlucha but I think the first thing I'm going to do is take everything in and just be thankful. Thank you for this video, you have no idea how much this means to myself and others.
Let it be known you can catch Hawlucha in teaxs, all the way south in the rio grande valley area, but for you to go the extra mile into Mexico is amazing! Keep up the great work 🩶
I was looking for someone else to say this. I catch them all the time at my house in El Paso. 😅 But this video was way more fun than simply sitting on my couch with my cat.
This was SUCH a good video, Nick! I always get sad when you don't upload for awhile, and then you always come out with an amazing gem like this that more than makes up for the wait. I have always loved your enthusiastic appreciation for different cultures, and how these videos truly bring out that excitement in you.
I've only really gotten to experience Mexico through the tourist-y ports on cruises, but the culture and the people have always seemed so kind and warm hearted to me. Wonderful look into one of their most sacred traditions. Thank you! I didn't get any shinies during either event this year, BUT, I did randomly find a wild spawn shiny phantump at like 2am on the 7th. It was crazy.
This was probably one of my favorite videos you've done, a real masterpiece of a video. Bravo, you had my attention the whole way through. Mexico looks incredible
Nick I have been following you since the very beginning, this is honestly one of your top 3 videos all time for many different reasons. Travel, traditions, food, Pokemon and Lucha. What a journey. This is why I once considered you one of the best UA-cam channels ever to exist. You should be proud of this one!
Beautiful video, as a Mexican living in the US it makes me happy to see you enjoying some of my culture. You really tried the good real Mexican food and the beautiful traditions we have. Your content is really good and that's why you are my fav for pokemon videos.
I don't even play Pokemon Go that much, but this was a pleasure to watch. Thanks for sharing your trip to Mexico during such an important time of the year with us!
Normally I don’t comment on videos, but this felt like a must just to thank you for the portrayal and care you demonstrated to my country and culture. Best Pokémon UA-cam channel bar none.
Nick, I've been going through your backlog gradually whenever I'm feeling under the weather, finding the travel videos amongst the updates, or even just videos with gameplay in Long Beach. I think this is my favourite video of yours yet. Absolutely loved it. Thanks for taking us along to places we might never get to visit!
Oaxaca is my hometown. I was smiling throughout the whole video, I love seeing people like and enjoy being there. Glad you went there for Dia de Muertos, Is the best place to be ;). Oaxaca and Morelia are the 2 places where the festivities are celebrated in full. I hope to see you guys next time if you ever go back
Nick's traveling videos are the best. He does such a good job of telling a story and I learn a lot about the places he travels to. I don't get to travel, so I appreciate seeing the world through his videos and shared love of Pokémon GO.
In September I traveled to Colombia for 18 days - not to play Pogo (I got a few Maractus though), but to watch birds - everyone told me how careful I should be. That the country was dangerous because of that and that. What I experienced was a beautiful country with the most kind and amazing people. I kinda see some similarities with Mexico - both in, the buildings and the people - both countries are Spanish, so thats mostly the reason
40:05 if you're heading towards this part of the video, DON'T SKIP, DON'T FAST FORWARD, IT'S CRAZY 😭 Left open mouthed!! Yo, wished you could've told us you were around, I would have LOVED to find you in the Safari City event 🥺 but I understand if you didn't want to. Loved your content since 2018, paz!!! Dude actually I'd clicked on you're video on accident and genuinely this is some of the best youtube content I've ever seen I love the fact that you balance the pokemon go with the Mexico culture and what is around you and its actually beautiful thank you for just this awesome video and I definitely wanna see more.
Coming back and watching this 8 months later makes me realize how much I miss the halloween event when it ends. Having the whole map change is so fun and the oranges and browns are so pleasing on the eyes. I cant wait for the event to happen again this year just because it's such a chill time.
Thank you for visiting my motherland Nick! I know Mexico does get a bad rep but it is a beautiful country with a really great culture. It saddens me that I haven’t visited in over 15 years. I’m glad you enjoyed your trip and that you caught your Hawlucha
This was an incredible video. Thank you for doing justice to my country. It is definitely misunderstood and I'm glad someone with as big of a following as you is calling it out. It really means a lot and I hope it encourages more people to visit. Everyone should visit at LEAST once.
Anthony Bourdain tier Pokémon GO video. You captured the culture, the people, the food, the history and even reeled in the Hawlucha. The shiny luck rubbed off, I caught a shiny Mareep while watching. Safe travels and Godspeed Nick!
I love and appreciate that your video isn't fearmongering Mexico or like....Cancun. The one thing I've learned being with my boyfriend who's Mexican-American is that the culture is so beautiful and vibrant. There are SO many amazing UNESCO sites in Mexico that I want to visit (specifically the Monarch butterfly bioreserve and Veracruz for the OG vanilla), but your video really surprised me in the parallels between how Dia de los Muertos is celebrated and how my people celebrate Lunar New Year. Visiting my motherland to experience LNY has always been on my bucketlist, but I see myself also wanting to experience this part of my partner's culture straight from the motherland as well.
epic trip! I def wanna visit one year during Día de los Muertos. I love these kind of videos, especially at 40+ mins. Felt like No Reservations over here. I think more people should travel with open eyes, not live in fear. It's important to be smart, but having a local always helps
Got a shiny Magnemite while watching this video, Oaxaca's shiny vibes are too strong. Thank you for your positive perception of Mexico, glad you had an enjoyable experience. ¡Saludos desde Monterrey!
This video was amazing , as someone who family is from Mexico specifically “Veracruz and Michoacán “ it’s beautiful to see how it is out there and you just enjoy and embrace the culture!! Great vid nick btw I’ve been watching the vids since the beginning of Pokémon go super proud of how far you have gone !! Keep it up bro 🎉
I’ve been to Mexico on a rainforest expedition for conservation research. Honestly the most wonderful two weeks of my entire life, gorgeous country, great people, fantastic food and weather. Love from the UK
Now that is a cool way to hunt for Hawlaucha especially to end the event. I notice that here in the Northern parts of Belize, where I live, we can still catch Hawlaucha even though it's a Mexican regional.
I always tell people that Mexico is not as bad as people make it seem. You look for trouble, you’ll find trouble. Other then that, the people of Mexico are lovable and friendly
Ngl your videos arnt just vloging or content there actually art you really put time effort and money into giving us something special from the music to the travels and moments with friends it really is amazing thank you
One of my favorite videos from you ever, such a good job not only capturing pokemon go but also the traditions of the place you were in. I would love to see more of this content. Sending you positive vibes and much abundance for a happy, lucrative, and successful channel.
Thank you so much for sharing this! Absolutely love seeing your travels and perspective on different cultures in the most respectful and informative ways! The Pokémon go playing is such an added bonus. 😊
I mean it sounds about as safe as some places in America also, like Detroit or Chicago has crazy gang violence and muggings but you just gotta take care of how you carry yourself and watch your surroundings and then your fine. Crime is up everywhere people just hear one bad thing and go NOPE! But miss out on some cool restaurants, scenery, and even people just cause someone had a bad experience. It's sad but it is also understandable being a survival instinct to stay safe.
I can see the Anthony Bourdain influence on this one Nick. Connecting people and appreciating a country’s culture are always cool and that’s the reason why this channel is different from the rest. This one is up with the ranks of your Search for Celebi vid. Top tier!🤘🏼
Loved that you went to a Lucha Libre event. I used to go to those all the time when I would visit my cousins in Mexico. That brought back a lot of fun memories!
As a fellow Mexican residing here in the northern part of Mexico (Tamaulipas, which is border of Texas) your friend is certainly right. There is a lot, and I mean a lot of crime going on. It has declined somewhat the last 2-3 years but still very dangerous. To give you a small insight, I live in Laredo, Texas. The border city next to it is Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and that city was hell unfortunately. Traveling sometimes to Monterrey had become also very dangerous even though Monterrey itself is really beautiful but unfortunately the road to get there is very alarming and dangerous because it’s a cartel hot spot. So many kidnappings, shooting, and killings have happened in that Nvo. Laredo to Monterrey road it’s pretty sad. There’s been more security there but still a very dangerous road. Inner Mexico and southern it’s like any other place on the planet, you just have to be alarmed at all times but it’s beautiful and our culture is well living there thankfully. Mexico City is just like NY City or Houston, beautiful huge city with a lot of diversity but of course it has its bad apples
Mexico will always be my favorite place to visit! Just went last week to visit my family had so much fun. Also happy to catch Hawlucha & Maractus. One of my favorite videos ❤️
I think it's worth mentioning the wrestling promotion they saw, CMLL, is the oldest still-existing pro wrestling company in the world. It just celebrated its 90th anniversary in September.
I live 20 miles from the Mexican border and I get these all the time. Didn’t realize they were regional until I saw this video. For reference you can get them somewhere south of Tucson.
I think this is the best Pokemon video clip that I have ever seen. I has it all culture, beauty, friendship, luck, grinding, and ultimately catching that rare Pokemon that you searched so hard for. I seldom know what I've caught until my storage fills up and I need to get rid of many. This last time 2 days after and event I discovered a raid had netted me a SHUNDO origin form Dialga.
What an awesome video. Thank You for showing us how beautiful Mexico is and how nice the people are. Congratulations on your catch! I also am a little glad I wasn't the only one who didn't get any shiny during the Halloween event.
I went to Mexico city at the end of September for a wedding and i had a blast! My mom was SO worried about me for basically no reason. It wasn't really any rougher than NYC or downtown SF. I didn't get hassled to buy any mixtapes and no one's car got smash n' grabbed. It was a beautiful city with beautiful vibrant culture. Great video!!
I actually quit playing Pokemon Go over a year ago, but so glad I decided to watch this video anyway, because I loved what you showed of the scenery and culture, and even enjoyed the game parts even though I'm not a player anymore.
What an awesome video I loved every single part of it. As a Oaxacan, seeing you capture those moments during Día de Los Muertos touched my heart in so many levels. I went to visit Oaxaca city when i was about 10 years old back in 2007-08 and seeing el Arbol Del Tule gave me goosebumps. Now I'm feeling more excited going to visit in a couple weeks for my parents hometown festival and going to visit Oaxaca city!
I’m going to Mexico for Christmas this year and it’s also within the corsola area as well. I also believe maractus spawns there too. So that’s 3 regionals I possibly might get when I go to mexico
This has to be one of my favorite, if not my favorite video you ever made, not just because youre visiting my country México, but on just how you depicted our culture, our traditions, and respectfully gave your opinion on how people think we live in a constant crime war and narco culture scene, we are a loving country with loving people, amazing food and amazing places to visit, and you showed the world this ... Thank you nick for all your fun videos, you had us laughing all the time, i dont consider myself a top pokemon Go player or even care about PVP, but this videos are what make me travel and want to catch em all. GRACIAS NICK ! as a mexican i really really LOVE ! what youve done ... !
I just had my honeymoon in Tulum in April and I absolutely LOVED my time in Mexico. We took time to be in the cities and it was such a great community of people. As an American living in AZ, it blows my mind how negative the news makes Mexico appear. I’ve felt less safe walking around Portland at night when compared to Mexico.
I’ve been to Mexico City and it was one of the most vibrant cities filled with so much beautiful art, culture, and food. I miss it, thanks for highlighting the culture!
We all shouted when your phone died after seeing the Hawlucha! 😂😂 We were watching all your videos with the sibs who also play pokemon. Nice content as usual!!
Nicely done man. I've always loved these videos where you combine culture and PoGo so seamlessly. I wish Dominican Republic would get an event of sort just to have you go and explore it whilst giving colorful commentary about my people adn culture.
Great video. A couple of things to mention. First, I also made a trip of a lifetime to the Dominican Republic in Sept. While there I had a similar experience. The Paldean event started and I only caught a maractus and saw a corsola once on the nearby. Disappointing. Also, I can understand how people think an area is dangerous. I used it live in Ecuador and I remember a guy saying "I would never visit the USA. Did you hear about all those mass shootings?" He's not wrong but it all depends on where you go and if you know someone local looking out for you. Imagine a tourist landing at LAX and look at a map of the LA area and go "let's go over to East LA. Looks cool". Might not be a good idea. Also, Nick. You kinda look like a local for Mexico. I doubt you were getting called a gringo.
The residents of the United States have given a really really bad reputation to Mexico, based on the crimes and insecurity, we Mexicans are aware of that and have been for decades. They're just acting as if all the zones in the country were dangerous, as if all of USA was safe, but both have their weird places and their BEST places!!
@lordlucario8828 I live in the uk, and all I ever hear about America is about the insane gun laws and cops walking the streets with multiple loaded guns strapped to them. We don't really worry about gun violence much here as our laws on acquiring a gun are much stricter
I went to Mexico for a few days and caught three shiny poliwag and one hawlucha. It was so hot outside when i went i couldnt really go out and explore 😢 next time
Very pleasant intro I love that you mentioned Mexico as beautiful and misunderstood.. Its scary only if you intentionally look for trouble. The people of Mexico are wonderful, I am super happy you are in Mexico!
I never knew how dangerous Mexico could be. At the same time, I’d still love to see the beauty and majesty of Mexico. Seriously misunderstood. It sounds like “just be smart, go with someone who knows the areas.”
It's an understatement to say I look forward to these travel adventure videos. I need them. Praise you TrainerTips for bringing such treasured content. ❤
I was just on mexico city. After a small hiatus downloaded the game, and didn't know Mexico had Hawlucha, carnivine, and maractus. A pleasant surprise. Mexico was great btw Def recommend
thank you for saying ‘misunderstood’ when speaking of Mexico. as a mexican it saddened me hearing how many people are afraid (for good reasons) but there truly are amazing and friendly people there!

As a Dutch person I’ve never heard anybody say they were afraid of Mexico.
Maybe it’s the white self confidence.
Good amount of Americans are afraid to visit Mexico that’s why

Mexico will always be my favorite place to visit! Just went last week to visit my family had so much fun. Also happy to catch Hawlucha & Maractus. One of my favorite videos ❤️
I think it's worth mentioning the wrestling promotion they saw, CMLL, is the oldest still-existing pro wrestling company in the world. It just celebrated its 90th anniversary in September.
Mexico and the people there are truly amazing. Happy you made the journey 🎉
As a Mexican born there , it brings me happiness your enjoy yourself in my country Nick❤💯
I live 20 miles from the Mexican border and I get these all the time. Didn’t realize they were regional until I saw this video. For reference you can get them somewhere south of Tucson.
best Pokémon GO adventure videos EZ
Hi mystic have u got galarian Articuno yet?
Yo Nick, go to your settings, clear your cache and disable 3rd party ads. It'll fix your crashing issue.
Nick forgetting the shiny shadow Sableye and saying he got no shinies during the Halloween event is so funny 😂
I think I speak for several people when I say that we would listen to your content even if you weren't playing Pokemon go.
Video: (cute doggo walks by)
Me: a wild houndour!
Also me: cracking up over my own lameness.
This was a banger !!! So many good trainer tips videos but this one felt like it was 3 min long that's how good it was. Great freaking job Nick.
EStÁ INCREIBLE EL VIDEO, espero la hayas pasado bien en México :D
GOAT
What an awesome video I loved every single part of it. As a Oaxacan, seeing you capture those moments during Día de Los Muertos touched my heart in so many levels. I went to visit Oaxaca city when i was about 10 years old back in 2007-08 and seeing el Arbol Del Tule gave me goosebumps. Now I'm feeling more excited going to visit in a couple weeks for my parents hometown festival and going to visit Oaxaca city!
Que chido hermano. Saludos desde Querétaro, me encanta tu estado.
I’m going to Mexico for Christmas this year and it’s also within the corsola area as well. I also believe maractus spawns there too. So that’s 3 regionals I possibly might get when I go to mexico
You hands down make the best travel “Pokémon go” videos. makes me want to go to each place you visit.
Dude this video is incredible. I’ve been watching your videos since 2020 but I think this one has topped them all!!
Bruh playing Pokemon go and watching lucha libre at the Arena Mexico, bucket list.
Love this style of vlogging. It’s like I’m watching a Netflix series. Top notch Nick & team
Absolutley love your travel videos. Congrats on all the shinies.
im so glad even after the year you still doing this man. will always support you !
Or during the day.
i live in el paso and probably live 10 minutes from the border and im always running into hawlucha. i had no idea it was even a regional😂
Thank you for making me miss my hometown 😢
I’ve been to Mexico City and it was one of the most vibrant cities filled with so much beautiful art, culture, and food. I miss it, thanks for highlighting the culture!
We all shouted when your phone died after seeing the Hawlucha! 😂😂
We were watching all your videos with the sibs who also play pokemon.
I never knew mexico had a reputation for being dangerous. Honestly, I'm more scared of ever going to america
The residents of the United States have given a really really bad reputation to Mexico, based on the crimes and insecurity, we Mexicans are aware of that and have been for decades. They're just acting as if all the zones in the country were dangerous, as if all of USA was safe, but both have their weird places and their BEST places!!
i feel that very much lol
What a cultured human. Genuine nature goes a long way folks! Loved this
As a hispanic who’s from sinaloa, sure crime was visible but nothing really ever happened tbh everyone was chill and all the primos would mess around
I never knew how dangerous Mexico could be.
At the same time, I’d still love to see the beauty and majesty of Mexico.
Seriously misunderstood. It sounds like “just be smart, go with someone who knows the areas.”
Hawlucha también sale en los departamentos de San Marcos Y Huehuetenango que son parte de Guatemala estos son frontera con México. Increíble video :D
Mexico was great btw Def recommend
the production of this video was insane. Great Job!
