I tried doing the clickroll when you first uploaded this video and it didn't work after many hours of trying. But now, 2 years after, I just now spontaneously did it and kept on trying to memorize the placement of the tongue. I instantly remembered about this video and came back to it. This is actually a great tutorial after you have already figured out the placement. Big fan since 2013, keep it going bro!

So I've never committed to learning the click roll, but I was surprised how easy this tutorial made! Still got a ways to go to master the sound, but I definitely can get the sound consistently! Thanks D-Low!
i’m usually a quite fast learner when i’m interested in something, i’ve taught myself a loooot of skills in my life, but am very much not confident in my learning ability when it comes to beatbox, so it’s even cooler that i almost got it in the middle of this video. i swear, these tutorials are actually totally worth trying (a feeling i think many people don’t get with the majority of tutorials) and you’re soo lovely! thx bro, sending love from berlin

I could do it before with the tip of the tongue but curling it backwards, but I learnt it on the side like you said and it does seem to have more power.
Omg I think I finally learned clickroll after so many months of trying!! I was just playing with the positioning and pressure and found the spot! For the people that had as much trouble learning this sound as me, something that helped me was putting the tip of my tongue on the top roof of my mouth (A little curved back) and have it tight and building up with pressure, then inhale. You should get a rattle. I thought I would never learn the clickroll, but I’m so grateful !! 😁
a question about how you did it, is the air going past the tip of your tongue where it’s touching the roof, so that you feel the air on the back of your tongue? and is the tip of you tongue close to your teeth or farther back in your throat? i just want to get a better idea of how it works!
@@fattymuffin2182 yes to the first question, and for the second question, I have my tongue more away from my teeth and kind of in the position of doing a click at the roof of your mouth but curling and basically folding your tongue back. 👍

I still don't understand the rimshot. May be too simple a sound for a tutorial, but any help or tips from anyone would be appreciated. I've probably seen every tutorial there is, but it refuses to click for me.
