Carys, my sister used to flare up when she would do any painting and was told by her GP that it could be the fumes in the paint! She resulted in wearing a face mask and marigolds and would wrap her hair up in a plastic bag and shower afterwards washing her hair. If you have any calamine lotion apply some of that to take the redness down and its better if you put it in the fridge as that will make it cool and refreshing. If no calamine apply some natural yoghurt. Hope this helps. Oh, my sister later went on to be a painter and decorator at college lol. ❤. Loving these home videos!
VIDEO IDEA! You guys should do a cooking challenge where you each try and cook meals and then you can see who does better! Maybe get Carys’ sister and fiancé to rate them ♥️
I started decorating my parents house whilst we’re isolating and so many ideas came from these videos! My parents didn’t have much choice I’m using their home as practise before I do my own😂
With the counter you could make it look like tiles and do a mosaic kind of thing with equally sized rectangles as if its been tiled!!! intentional seams
Watching y’all’s videos brings me such a calming and happy vibe. I have anxiety so being cooped up all day makes me feel like I’m going mad, but I can always turn to you’re videos and feel a million times better! Thank y’all and LOVE YALL 💕💕
Pretty sure there is a DIY painted marble set on Amazon! It comes with the white and grey paints and a clear coat to put on top of it all that could work really well! "Our Little Nest" on UA-cam recently did her counters with it and it worked so well!
For the worktop, because the paint is creamy I’d go for a really nice pale wood effect sheet, that way the seems will look like a new piece of wood. I think the room would look cool and cosy and fab! Xx
I wrapped my kitchen worktops with the marble vinyl wrap - if you go on EBay you can get different widths and lengths that’ll leave no edges or seams! X
Carys try a barrier cream on your face before you paint! Not a moisturizer but something with a greasy texture. Burt's Bees or Working Hands do great barrier creams xxxx
Annie sloan chalk paint would look lovely on your countertop ...you dont need to use primer it goes on to most surfaces(and fabrics) especially with the colour scheme you have ...with some clear jars/bottles for treats and laundry powder/liquids...would set the rustic wood off lovely! I love watching your videos especially seeing your decor ...its fab!xxx
Just an idea, you can get wider marble sticky back plastic (you won’t need to worry about matching up or seams then) if you really want the marble still :) Also you should get some of the goggles and a face mask for when your doing the painting, your most likely allergic to the fumes of it. I’m a nurse and would recommend you having some antihistamines before you start the painting, you can buy them at most places :) xx
Your videos make me so happy, I'm now having four days all by myself in my 40 sqm apartment without the distraction of work because of easter and not able to see my family or my boyfriend... thankful for every distraction and your videos are perfect and so pure and happy😊 love from Hamburg, germany
Room looks great. I wouldn't put the sticky back plastic on the floor. its not hard wearing enough. Mila's claws would snag it aswell. Thanks for sharing your house transformations x
I’d imagine that it’s the fumes from the paint that cause your skin reaction, not the paint itself! I’m not sure if you’d be able to avoid a reaction completely but maybe try antihistamines and showering straight after you’ve finished painting!
I would maybe try painting the counter top white to match the white shelf and the contrast of the rustic shelf in between them would stand out? Love the Egyptian Cotton colour! ❤
Love this video! We are currently doing our house too with what we can do whilst everything is happening! I don't suppose you could do either a video or talk about how you go into embroidery? It's something I've always wanted to do but, haven't got a clue where to start and you are so talented! ❤
There is a way to paint your own marble countertops to facelift old counters like the one you have! It’s really simple and I’m sure you can find some how to videos. You paint a base, the pattern and then usually set it with resin. Maybe look into that option!
Love a good James and Carys room transformation vlog💕 Thankyou for keeping us entertained while in quarantine! All the way from New Jersey in USA😊 I also LOVE the black wood on the shelf instead of the marble!! I think it’s a nice contrast with all the light colors you did!
Carys when u do wrapping ,spray a bit of washing liquid water mixture on a surface.in this way u can position where u wanna and put out the bubble together with the water.amd will dry out nicely after.
The rollers are surprisingly easy to clean with soapy water so you can reuse them and then if you're painting with the same colour over a couple days you can put the roller in a plastic bag and it keeps it wet and ready to use the next day without having to clean it, can do the same with brushes as well. Xx
I think the black wooden surface looks good, and will be amazing if you have black decor accents. Also I think you should go for the white marble on the floor. Loving you guys at the moment. What’s your Pinterest name? Xx
Wow Carys you’re a work horse! You’ll have a stab at anything and have a great work ethic. While some of your DIY’s I’m not a fan of I do respect the effort and tenacity you exhibit. I’m new to your channel and find you both quite humerus. But, I’m not quite sure what purpose James serves he seems a bit work shy. However go Carys you’re a great example for all women out there that DIY isn’t just for guys. Keep bringing out the videos they’re nice and light hearted.
I honestly love these videos you’ve been doing! 😍 you’ve honestly motivated me so much to get my own house organised and decorated! And even up cycled some old furniture! So thank you for helping me with my anxiety through lock down and my mind busy! Stay safe!💗
Me and my boyfriend love watching your videos together. It’s our favourite part of lockdown! Where is Jame’s green hoodie from he wore a couple of vlogs back? I’d love to get my boyfriend it as a surprise xx
Hi James and Carys! I would love to use the same rolls you used. The black and the marble. Where did you guys buy them? And what are they called? Would love to do some DIY in my new little studio
Hi Carys!! Could you share the link of the marble paper you got that had a more realistic feel to it? I'm thinking of using it for my kitchen area!! 💞💞
Hey Carys, been following a while now and all the furniture pieces you’ve painted have you done in furniture paint or just usual emulation? Also did you put a sealant on them or a wax? Only because my partner has bought me a little project and was unsure what paints to buy etc I just know what colours and stuff so far and was wondering if you could shine a light as I love your DIY xxx
Maddison Paige from my experience it doesn’t matter too much as long as you’ve got the right primer underneath and it’s been sanded properly. I’m not a professional but I have painted a lot of furniture in the past. Hope this helps
Hi you can buy wider rolls of contact paper 2 meters I think is the biggest I’ve seen, and painting your tiles with a patterned stencil or freehand marble would look great 😀always watch + like not a big commenter tho🌈
We rent and I hated the kitchen so we brought black marble sticky back plastic for the worktops... you have to buy the wider roll so you don’t have to do any seems ☺️😘
I've also had allergic reactions similar to the one you are having. I usually try to use the Neti Pot if I feel a flare up about to happen. It does seem to help.
My favourite videos on UA-cam at the mo, lovee you 2 and Mila of course, you are just so sweet ♥️ and I loveeee interior design so it's a match made in heaven 😍 keep up the DIY Carys, genuinely love the updates🥰
I’ve just recently brought some marble for my kitchen. If you go on vinylwarehouse.com you can put in your exact measurement of the surface you want and you won’t need to match seams or anything! Xx
You can buy a wider roll of the marble so that you don’t have to join it, it’ll be big enough to go on in one piece, my mum has done it using a wider roll
Hey. Hope u guys are ok 😊 the marble sticking sheet i purchased the same from ebay...i wanted my kitchen top to look marble...once arrived i was over the moon...so when i put one on it looked nice! The other one looked horrible...it took me ages taking bubbles out and looked cheap...like you said you can see its stuck on!...hmmm dont have any ideas sorry...but i left my the way it was lol tc guyz x
Carys, you can get a pain on marble and I feel like you’ll really enjoy this. Google paint on marble and it looks fairy easy! It’s also a lot more realistic

Emily Haigh hehe this could be fun!!!
Yesssss!
I just love how down for anything James is! Like Carys could have the craziest idea and he supports it ❤️
I started decorating my parents house whilst we’re isolating and so many ideas came from these videos! My parents didn’t have much choice I’m using their home as practise before I do my own😂
Drinking game idea, take a shot every time Carys says ‘rustic vibe’ 😁 loving the house updates!
Jessica Morgan or Egyptian cotton. Lol
I can’t wait to see when you renovate the house and what you do with the garden etc! Love these videos
Don’t stick that vinyl stuff on the floor you’d be better paining the tiles with tile paint that vinyl stuff will start peeling
With the counter you could make it look like tiles and do a mosaic kind of thing with equally sized rectangles as if its been tiled!!! intentional seams
Carys I loved the first marble wrap you tried! Maybe it looks better on camera but really thought it went well with the light colours :)
Watching y’all’s videos brings me such a calming and happy vibe. I have anxiety so being cooped up all day makes me feel like I’m going mad, but I can always turn to you’re videos and feel a million times better! Thank y’all and LOVE YALL 💕💕

I would do white on the floor instead of all the marble 😭
you could try the diy marble epoxy countertops. I have binged watch them on youtube lately! I love all your diy vlogs! 🤩🤩
For the worktop, because the paint is creamy I’d go for a really nice pale wood effect sheet, that way the seems will look like a new piece of wood. I think the room would look cool and cosy and fab! Xx

I love the knobs you picked out for the drawers! I think they're PERFECT!
My boyfriend and I have started looking around for our first ever house and I'm so excited to start diy's :) stay safe! love from Canada!!

Buy vinyl wrapping for worktops Hun! You can get 67cm width ones so you don’t need to have joins in it!! Xx
You guys bring so much positivity into my life, thanks for carrying on during this time xxx lots of love for u guys
Paige Pearcey Aw that’s so lovely for us to hear. Thank you xxxxx
Take antihistamines Carys I'm allergic to things n take em n they do help , looks great , I love the black shelf it looks great x

You guys have put a smile on my face today. This is what i needed... love from Chicago USA
You need the wider width marble contact paper hun, I done my whole kitchen in my old house and for the counter tops you need the wider one ☺️ xx
I’d imagine that it’s the fumes from the paint that cause your skin reaction, not the paint itself! I’m not sure if you’d be able to avoid a reaction completely but maybe try antihistamines and showering straight after you’ve finished painting!

You should add that marble to your bathroom sink in your bedroom, I think it would look lovely with the pick and black xx
Love a good James and Carys room transformation vlog💕 Thankyou for keeping us entertained while in quarantine! All the way from New Jersey in USA😊 I also LOVE the black wood on the shelf instead of the marble!! I think it’s a nice contrast with all the light colors you did!
I really enjoyed the video. Again as I’ve said before, your energy is inspiring. Keep up the good work. Stay safe. Hello again from Kentucky USA.
Carys when u do wrapping ,spray a bit of washing liquid water mixture on a surface.in this way u can position where u wanna and put out the bubble together with the water.amd will dry out nicely after.
Loving these renovation videos, making me wish I had my own house to decorate 🤩 also, take a shot every time ‘Egyptian cotton’ is said 😂

Girl!! You should try painting the tile in there or using peel and stick vinyl styles to go over the floor!
I think the black wooden surface looks good, and will be amazing if you have black decor accents. Also I think you should go for the white marble on the floor. Loving you guys at the moment. What’s your Pinterest name? Xx
I was just wondering if you guys sand your walls/doorways before you paint? It helps the paint last a lot longer! 🤩 Looks so good by the way!!
Wow Carys you’re a work horse! You’ll have a stab at anything and have a great work ethic. While some of your DIY’s I’m not a fan of I do respect the effort and tenacity you exhibit. For the counter top use rustoleum marble paint kit. Takes time but will look amazing!!!!
Carys you can try epoxy for the marble look. Very luxurious look for affordable price!
Love watching you guys!!! Helping me through this self isolation!
Just love you both!!🥰
Me and my boyfriend love watching your videos together. It’s our favourite part of lockdown! Where is Jame’s green hoodie from he wore a couple of vlogs back? I’d love to get my boyfriend it as a surprise xx
The Ariana Grande bit has me dyinggg 😂 I swear we really would be the bestest of friends, we’re so similar 😂
Me, shoving chocolate and icecream in my face, knowing very well I'm lactose intolerant:
"I KNOW WHAT I'M ALLERGIC TO AND I KEEP DOING IT"
"I'm not gonna use the roller"
Lies..
I was just moaning to my boyfriend that I'm bored... but now he can play the ps4 in peace for 25mins. THANKYOU
So thanks to you guys I've been thinking what colour to do my living room. As like you I'm all grayed out lol... Egyptian cotton it is now yay
Definitely my favourite UA-camrs ! So inspirational in a time like this 💓💓💓
use a matte polyurethane on the marble that you don't love and it will help it to look more realistic! Used it in my kitchen
Hey Carys, been following a while now and all the furniture pieces you’ve painted have you done in furniture paint or just usual emulation? Also did you put a sealant on them or a wax? Hi you can buy wider rolls of contact paper 2 meters I think is the biggest I’ve seen, and painting your tiles with a patterned stencil or freehand marble would look great 😀always watch + like not a big commenter tho🌈
You can buy the peel and stick in a wider role so that it fits fully across so there’s no seam
P.s. you dont give yourself enough credit, you are so good at transforming rooms 💕 time is key!! Xx
We rent and I hated the kitchen so we brought black marble sticky back plastic for the worktops... you have to buy the wider roll so you don’t have to do any seems ☺️😘
You're so creative and good at DIYs 🤯 I love everything you've both done in the house so far ❤️
I've also had allergic reactions similar to the one you are having. I usually try to use the Neti Pot if I feel a flare up about to happen. It does seem to help.

Garden renovation needed !! 🌴🍀🍂🍁
Such an amazing job ❤️ keep up guys love you ❤️😘💕
I’ve just recently brought some marble for my kitchen. If you go on vinylwarehouse.com you can put in your exact measurement of the surface you want and you won’t need to match seams or anything! Xx
Have you been taking anti histamines for your flare ups
I really love the colours. I think you need to paint the doors as well ❤️
Love how the house is coming along!! Love you guys!! Especially Mila🧡
You can buy a wider roll of the marble so that you don’t have to join it, it’ll be big enough to go on in one piece, my mum has done it using a wider roll
Love the colour don't beat ur self up it takes time, love the knobs on the dresser xxx
Just watched a Jenna Rose video she was using a worktop kit 2 paint ur own marble worktop u'd be so good at that take a look xxx
Hiya just a thought could it not be the gloves? I have a latex allergy but only started with it in my 30s it never affected me before. X
We are loving the diy make overs!
Shame about the marble effect and the seams, it would have looked great.
You do them going down in vertical it's far less noticeable. Do 2 directly in middle first then the two ends hun..x
Who carys, your voice!! I can only imagine if you were actually trying 😍
I love watching your transformations!! It’s so therapeutic to watch!!! 😍😍
Some ready made cupboards to hide cltter, and couple of shelves would have been nice
I like the black more than the marble but your choice, love your videos
Cant wait to see the final product! Which is weird because its just a bathroom!😂😂

First love you guys keeping my spirits up in lockdown couple gaols xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Sophie Spencer aw thank you so much boo!! Xxxx
I love how it turned out ❤️
Keira Mitten thanks!!
James and Carys thankyou💕
Carys, you can get a pain on marble and I feel like you’ll really enjoy this. Google paint on marble and it looks fairy easy! It’s also a lot more realistic
You can get wide stuff from b&m or b&q or homebase or the range
We need daily uploads during lockdown 😭💜
When you are using the roll on the vinyl to have a solid finish you need to match up the pattern and then it looks like there’s less of a seam
So excited to see these reno vlogs
I love how it turn out❤️
Where did you get the marble sticky plastic stuff?
With the marble to get rid of the seams etc, maybe you could finally wider roll?
I’m loving your DIYs!
