Flying Lotus has solidified his legendary status
who?
Lucid Jackson you serious?
@Papa Ice literally who?
Wait..
Who?
The new album was not good, if anything it solidified his forgettable status
I would looove to see him explain some of his older, more complicated stuff.
Yup!!
some things cannot be explained
It’s less complicated than the new stuff if you ask me
Especially 'Until the Quiet Comes', I love that album. It's so intricate and spacey at the same time
Because like…please?
That drum groove is crazy, plus the Shinichiro Watanabe video is just sex
Bri10 HOT sex baby
Nate Larson what?

@@natelarson458 The words "baby" and "sex" should not be in the same sentence.

Him and Paak. Lol
Such a wonderful smile, plus believe in yourself brodie
Fun Fact: Flying Lotus is the great nephew of legendary jazz musician, John Coltrane.
@@tColorsinspacerecordings not me. Good to learn new stuff everyday
Needlecrash WHAT
@@joelgibson9895 technically the grand nephew of Alice Coltrane. John Coltrane through marriage I guess.
feckless clod Alice was pretty legendary too tho
Mono Flax That she was
Big fan of this guy's sound. Have been for the last several years. The artists he chooses to work with when he is creating always mesh well with his vibe. These days i'm bigger fans of producers like Flying Lotus and Kaytranada than individual singers/rappers.
Aye big up Kaytra
Aye big up Kaytra
Bro!!
You dig producers more, ok.
Hardly a revolutionary, unique or new concept.
People have been looking out for who is on production duties for decades.
Nice try tho.
@@rickylovesyou Bro you read way to deep into my comment. Your interpretation is way off base. I don't give a dam about being unique about shit. It's just the way I feel about music in general currently. It's called growth overtime in my musical palate my guy. I don't listen to music the same way now as I did in my teens. Simply a comment on my growth in music over time.
2:27 Blapshemy! They misspelled "Lawd"!
Yes LAWD!
Blasphemy! U misspelled blasphemy! What sorcery is this?

Like seriously... This sounds like another Samurai Champloo joint... Very hypnotic indeed
tru, nice link
champloo copied other various hypnotic joints.
Ironic because Shinichiro wantanabe, the guy who directed the music video for this song, also directed Champloo!
@@Regalman no it didn't. I don't think you know the difference between copying and sampling dude.
@@aidantolbert933 And you don't understand cultural appropriation dude.
I honestly feel that FlyLo’s album should have more people listening, it was a great experience
EXACTLY!
I've been playing this song religiously ever since it came out. Everything about it makes me not tired of listening to it. I could be listening to it for 1000 times and still don't want to think about skipping it. Reminds me of J Dilla's work and the way he made his beats because of the drums, the way it sounds, the vibe/ energy, and how the song/ piece is composed.
Always get goosebumps at 1:27, that bass 😍
That’s and overdrive guitar bruh
@@Angelowalker. he literally says ‘my favourite part of the song is when that bass part comes in’ at 1:21, and Thundercat played bass on this song
My first time hearing Flying Lotus actually talk and he’s even more awesome than I could ever have hoped for!
Oof. That hard R in the Yes Lawd hurts
*🤣 I felt that too!!! 🤣*
Flylo has some of the best drums of all damn time, countless songs have grooves and nuances that blow you awayyyyyyyy
Glad im not the only one that stops working on a song for a long time and come back and be like "hey i actually do like this". I think we be so critical of our work in the moment that we do need to step back for a while to see the whole picture.
👆👆 this
Absolutely bro. I revisit my old ass GarageBand shit from when I first started and a lot of it is actually more creative than the stuff I try to make now, but back when I was making it I hated it and thought it was ass.
The drum beats what makes the song incredible

5 year old song...damn. FlyLo is so ahead of his time man
5 years?! Music is timeless glad this didn’t go in the recycle bin
Five years is still quite "current" when you're working on music. It's not uncommon to use tracks from even 20+ years ago because the time feels finally ripe for it.
@@Aihiospace agreed, i was watching a Nipsey interview and i think he said one his tracks on VL was recorded back in 2012 or 2013 but still made the album, that's dope as hell
yeah i think Mac was originally on the track too.
He looks like the music he makes idk how to describe it
What he said about letting projects sit really stuck with me. Inspires me to go back to old shit and revisit
Flying lotus is a GENIUS!! Composer, Musician and an incredible ARTIST of the 21'st century.....Long live the FLY _ LO
Five years old and it’s the best beat of 2019? WOW!
5 years to make a song? No wonder why this is my favorite from the album (a very close second is Takashi). My favorite kick drum sounds are the ones that feel like they are hitting you in the chest. The kicks in this song, feel like you are inside the kick!
And then there's Thundercat. I am sure that all of my favorite FlyLo songs have Thundercat playing on them!
The bass is absolutely disgusting in this song, it gets me every time I hear it come in. I love this song so much
FlyLo... Amazing work as always!
Damn flylo's locks really coming along nicely!
One of my favorite music artists.
Album been on repeat since it dropped
Flying Lotus is a fucking genius. So underrated 👌 Thundercat too
I had a feeling of thundercat being there I could sense his style this is definitely one of my favorite songs it's just Soo beautiful and describes human nature Soo well.
when you're feeding ego with the idea of you fighting ego
Lol it happens
Ah, the old trap.
Belladonna of Sadness.
A rap song I love that feels egoless to me is ‘Moment of Truth’ by Gang Starr. Could be a good listen if you like that stuff.
@@levmyshkin8366 I just wanna say ego is not this evil thing that people sometimes make it to be. It's only that going through an experience we call "ego death" gives a lot of perspective on life and stuff, but ego is what separates you from everything else, so you can experience and understand it all.
The visual animations on this video supplement it nicely.
He deserves so much more recognition.
Flying Lotus gotta be in your top 10 producers list
my favorite Flying Lotus song is when he's reading his emails. BANGER
thanks for the Thundercat samples FlyLo! HaHa
UA-cams audio encoder compression really makes even the best audio material unusable.

The second verse of this song is unbeatable, Paak floats on that drum groove flawlessly. Yes Lawd!
I loved how the visuals represented the different audio elements and then they all came together at the end.
one of the best producers of the era ! \w/
absolutely in love with this song, when that bass kicks in I lift off
The thing he said at the end about not hearing something for a long time... I can relate. SO TRUE!!!
5 years chipping away man...what else are hiding?
captain murphy
Knowing how industry plants can make 200 songs within the year they blow up this man probably has billions of albums half done or completely done from both him and the rest of Brainfeeder
He said in an interview that he had a lot of dope music he considered his best and that he was just gonna keep it for himself.
@@brandenapexo604 damn that means we may have to wait until he dies before we ever hear it.
An unreleased version with Mac Miller on it (RIP)
He’s truly amazing . Just came across this song and I’ve been bumping it nonstop since !
Bro has a smile that would make a titan blush lol
Fly lo a legend in hip hop my favorite beat by him is crust and slowed is even better
Flylo... been my favorite for the past decade. keep making music please
My favorite song of his for sure. I have listened to it three times in a row before!
when the bass comes in its crazy. of course it's Thundercats. 3 amazing musicians
That DROP tho
"Yes lawd...someone hit me the other day, for a rendezvous" 🙌🏽 and the drums are so sexy
The bass is everything
My man has the biggest smile I've ever seen 😂 I mean that in the best way
Really enjoyed this, loved the graphics. Really helped me to appreciate each individual element to the tune.
It's a great song, thank you Fly Lo! love both versions so much
The fact that this song was thought of in 2014 ..🤯 TIMELESS MUSIC
i really wish he was on tour with them right now. they could have done this live
thundercat and Anderson paak and Flying lotus would be a dope tour trio
Love the graphics for this series
He looks like a titan

The talent between those two unimaginable
One of my favorite grooVes 🔥
We need a jam session of this song.
Did he say it took 5 years to produce this song ?? 😳 that’s a whole college degree
Flylo is an amazing artist and friendly soul. Plz go see him on tour. It's mind blowing
Damn i love Flylo 🤘🏽😭 What a fucking legend and inspiration
This song is amazing! Been on repeat for weeks!
this man really had this in the vault for 5 years...
When flylo and thundercat get together its magical everytime
I saw Flying Lotus at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
Bri10 I heard of this one before a long time ago. lol
Classic. Upvote everytime
*this pasta will forever live on*
I seen this whole story before 🤨
I'm bored probably -
This is called a “copy-pasta” it’s a joke. This one specifically was made years ago, if I remember correctly, it was on reddit.
All time favorite song
The only thing this song is missing is letting the beat ride out. And maaaaaybe a 3 Stacks verse?
the drum beat reminds me of a less syncopated version of the beat on Outkast Da Art of Storytelling
Was probably inspired by that Anderson even sampled the opening line on this
I live for this shit

5 Years?? Woah!
love this guy!
I was absolutely blown away by this album. Thank you so much.
Much Appreciations.
Listened to this album for the first time on vinyl, purely cause I was so capitivated by the amazingly detailed album art. What an experience 🔥 I would say this felt like space jazz, the heavy bass lines are just 😭
I want to know more about that weird part at the beginning of the track on the album. It sounds nice but just drops out of nowhere then the beat comes in.
BevelBoyJack lmao yeah, I wonder if it was originally a part of another song that was deleted?
Yeah when I first heard it as a single I thought it would make more sense & flow in the context of the album like maybe have an interlude before but it was just the same lol
More please vice!
Soooo glad he didn’t trash this track!!! Thunder, THUNder, THUNDERCATS, hooooooo!
One of the best songs of the year
Dude music has never aroused me.
But then that bass happened.
Ahhhh flylo i love u
i would like to hear him break down the "thief and beggar" intro
This is so dope. Steve if your reading these comments, You fuckin killed it on the new album!!! Holy crap!!! Can’t wait to see you here in Portland 🤘🏼🌀🤘🏼🌀🤘🏼🌀
