Thank you for the instructions. I find this more helpful then reading the book. I am not a book smart person. I am more hands on to understand things. You was very helpful. Thanks again!!!!
I just bought this waffle maker. My husband picked it out with it's ability to store standing up. Also for the large size seems like it could satisfy our family of 4. Can't wait to give it a try! Thanks for making this video. Very straight forward! Looks delicious!
I purchased this last September 14, 2019. It looks good as new. The waffles come out beautiful and are done in 4 minutes each. I use my own recipe from pinterest, light and fluffy buttermilk pancakes, don't use cooking sprays and have never had a problem with them sticking. Clean up has been easy, just cool down and wipe. Was this my first choice? No it wasn't, I was replacing a waring pro. Am I disappointed with the flip? I'm quite pleased with it and it doesn't take up as much space as my waring pro did. I would definitely recommend this product.
mine doesn't come out as evenly brown as yours. and mine takes a good 6+ minutes to get brown. But it was still amazing thanks to your review i bought one. and the waffles are the BEST.
Hi, glad you are enjoying the waffle maker. The color may have something to do with the recipe itself. I used the classic recipe from their booklet. Hope that helps :)
I love mine its so easy no settings for crispness it just does what it is suppose to do. Only thing I dont like about it is the timer is ran by a battery and the moisture from the seam when you flip the waffle gets all over that area. I had a cuisanart (not sure if im spelling it right) Heavy.bulky and the teflon which I didnt like about it did wear off after a few years of much use.I paid about the same but even though this one feels cheaper its quality in all the right places and lighter. The thing that holds the waffle maker up is a cheap piece of plastic flap but it does the job. I just hope I never break that piece. Both of my waffle makers were able to stand up out of the way and that is a nice feature to have.
how come mine is nothing like yours? mine wasn't evenly cooked there was some burnt and pale spot at 4 minutes, yes I did preheat it and when I pour down it sizzles. I followed exactly the classic recipe provided and rubbed some oil for first time use. cooked 3 waffles all were the same results :( did you shift ur flour?
Hi Darren, I didn't sift the flour. I really can't think of a reason your waffles did not turn out well. You could try exchanging yours for another unit if possible.
I fill mine all the way up to the edge. All the way around then I put the lid down. Let it cook for 2 and a 1/2 minutes. And then I flip it for another 2 and a 1/2 minute. I don't flip mine right away. I have a plastic Drinking cup that is pretty big with a lid. And I make a batch of it. Pour it into my drinking container. And then when I want to make a waffle? I just poured out and use it the next day what is left over. It's nice to have it pre made whenever you want a waffle. But I wouldn't store The batter for more than two days.
nice to see basic use of a waffle maker. What is with the angst over making a waffle these days. I'm almost 60 and made waffles on my own at 7yrs old. it's not rocket science. People need to stop being afraid to do things...you know like inhale and exhales without a coach. So buy a waffle maker and enjoy it don't make it a stressed filled agonizing decision/process. As this review shows its one of the best home use waffle makers out there so buy it, use it and enjoy it...worst you'll do is have an undercooked or a burnt one now and then...but life will not cease if it happens. I've got celiac so I use a variation of the bread recipe I came up with for my bread maker. It's altered only slightly. I'm using sorghum flour, almond flour, tapioca flour, sometimes buckwheat flour for more texture and adding in some xanthan and guar gums to add elasticity. Of course add a bit of vanilla to create richness and the other basics like baking powder & and salt. Toss in some pre-toasted nuts or fruit once batter has rested to allow baking powder to work then just experiment you'll have a lot of fun. Same recipe works for pancakes too...or when I'm. lazy and feel. cavalier about my stomach that day, grab some Krustez's Buttermilk per-made mix cuz it's the best stuff!
To all those who might find this awesome product somewhere, BUY IT !! I had one and it worked perfectly but one day it dropped from the counter and never worked again...😐
Great review. I just ordered my today. I'm not sure what batter to use. I'm thinking about buying the Bisquick Shake 'n Pour Pancake Mix, Buttermilk. Do you think it will work? (ps i don't cook a lot)
Actually, i'm going with the recipe you left from the booklet. I will be cooking for myself and don't want to waste the mix. Do you know how long the mix will last in the frig? And if i make a few, what is the best way to warm them make up after freezing them? I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thank you
Hi Ronald, glad you liked the review. The recipe from the booklet is great! The pour mix lasts 3 days in the refrigerator after opening. Warm up the frozen waffles in a toaster oven or regular oven at 350 degrees fahrenheit. Hope that helps. Please subscribe if you haven't already :)
I freeze the left overs, thaw and toast when ready to eat. They keep frozen for months. Make sure your extra waffles are cool before wrapping in plastic wrap, placing in a freezer bag and freezing.
Hi I’m using those premade batter like hungry jack and some from the confectionary store and the waffle turned out to be horrendous . Do you recommend using premade flour and just add water or should I buy the ingredients and make the batter myself ?
bestkitchenreviews I assume you got the recipe from the presto booklet that it came with ? I’m only making it for like 2 people so do you recommend me dividing the ingredients amount ?
Hi, I haven't yet but definitely will. I know people have made versions of banana bread, brownies, pizza etc. It's great to experiment with the batter and see what you can make much faster with the waffle maker :)
Hi Pallavi, here it is: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1¾ cups milk 1 tablespoon sugar 2 eggs 1 tablespoon baking powder 2 tablespoons vegetable oil ¼ teaspoon salt Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in large bowl. Whisk milk, eggs, and oil in medium bowl. Whisk milk mixture into dry ingredients just until dry ingredients are thoroughly moistened. Preheat waffle maker. Pour 1 cup batter onto the center of the bottom grid. Close top and flip waffle maker. Bake until brown, about 4 minutes
@0:47 - Will beep 5 times. @2:30 - Beeps 4 times. I was curious because it is easier to design alarms that are multiples of 2 (2, 4, 8). And yes, engineers are pedantic:)
I just bought this waffle maker and finding the results depends on your recipe. I'd like to know what your recipe is. The "basic" recipe that comes with this waffle maker isn't very good - bready and caused the waffle iron to separate a lot as the batter rose.
Hi, I used the below recipe from Presto and it worked well in the video: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1¾ cups milk 1 tablespoon sugar 2 eggs 1 tablespoon baking powder 2 tablespoons vegetable oil ¼ teaspoon salt Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in large bowl.
Mine don't turn out anything like yours. I used the Classic Waffle recipe but mine are not crispy like that, they end up sort of grey and sad. At 4 minutes there is still tons of steam coming out, it takes a good six minutes to get something "crispy" but by that time the inside is really stiff and not at all like yours. Any tips?
Hi Jason, was it preheated....before you poured the batter? Unless the recipe was changed in some way, I really can't think of any reason it wouldn't come out well.
bestkitchenreviews yes it was on while I measured and mixed the batter. It seems like your sizzled when you first put the batter in mine sure doesn't maybe it is just defective. Did you add all the liquid to the dry ingredients? My batter is more runny maybe it is just too wet? Thanks for the help, I need crispy waffles!
Yes, mine was extremely hot when I poured the batter. My batter was also thick and not runny - I followed the recipe exactly. You could try resting the batter for 5 minutes after you finish mixing it. I'm guessing the light went out after heating up? That's the sign that the unit is ready to use. If you think the unit is not heating up properly, I would exchange it. Hope you get crispy waffles soon :)
I just checked and mine gets to around 400 degrees so that seems hot enough. The only other difference is that you used oil while I used cooking spray, I am going to give the oil and shot and see if that helps. Thanks so much for the responses. About ready to just buy a different iron but if I don't have to even better.
Yes, there is a slight difference in the amount between dry and wet. Usually the 'liquid measure' is sold in some sort of pitcher form with a spout Pyrex or Anchor makes some {I prefer the Anchor brand it pours easier}, and the 'dry measure' usually is sold in the form of various different sized cups which next inside of each other.
Hi Susan, here is the recipe: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1¾ cups milk 1 tablespoon sugar 2 eggs 1 tablespoon baking powder 2 tablespoons vegetable oil ¼ teaspoon salt Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in large bowl. Bake until brown, about 4 minutes Generally, a thinner batter makes crispier waffles, also making sure the waffle iron is very hot before pouring the batter. Buttering the iron before pouring the batter also helps :)

Come on now running the timer off the mains would require a transformer to step down the voltage , when you can put a watch battery and that will last over a year
It’s so satisfying to watch waffles being made.

just got the presto , great video! i watched it even before i opened the box!, can't wait to make some
👍😁
Great review! I love my Presto flip. I use a Belgian waffle recipe and they come out crisp, golden and fluffy every time. Much like yours. Thanks:)

Thanks for this! I bought this because of your review and my waffles came out great ♡ thank youuuu
+Kayaana13 Hi, you're welcome, glad the review helped :)
I guess I'm pretty randomly asking but does anyone know of a good site to stream newly released series online?
It was so amazing I had never made a waffle but this was to die for
+Pranay Krishna Hi Pranay, yes the waffles turned out really yummy! Glad you enjoyed it :)

thanks bunches for making this very helpful video! we love our Presto waffle maker so much.
You are so welcome!
Thank you, you've convinced me to get one . :)
You’re welcome! Glad it was helpful 😀👍
To hold the handles together I use the plastic netting from supermarket garlic. Fits perfectly and works.
I saw that on another video...
Thank you for this review. I ordered mine and it should arrive in a couple of days.
+Steve Barnes Hi Steve, you're welcome! Enjoy the waffle maker :)

I purchased this machine and look forward to its usage
What's the point of flipping it? On some waffle make they don't require you to flip it. Is that a good or bad thing?
You sold me with this review!!
👍😀
I'm drooling, those are the best waffles I've ever seen
Hi, they were tasty with butter and maple syrup :)

Thanks for the demo. Will it burn my table? It looks like it's really close to the countertop
It’s on the counter top. Wherever you put it should be heat proof 😁

I soooo wanna have a hold of this presto waffle iron but it is not sold in my country.
Really helpful video. Thanks
👍😁
Yeah I’m def getting this
How come the same iron, my waffle cooked after 8 minute the color still pale😭
So you flip it at the half mark time?
How’s the waffle maker holding up 3 years later?
Have you ever made brownies in your waffle iron?
Does anyone make a waffle maker with removable grid plates for easier cleaning?

can I get a ceramic plate instead of nonstick?
Hi I’m using those premade batter like hungry jack and some from the confectionary store and the waffle turned out to be horrendous . Do you recommend using premade flour and just add water or should I buy the ingredients and make the batter myself ?
Hi, the batter I used was homemade and I would suggest that since it made great waffles 😀
bestkitchenreviews I assume you got the recipe from the presto booklet that it came with ? I’m only making it for like 2 people so do you recommend me dividing the ingredients amount ?
Yes, it’s from the booklet. You can halve the recipe or use the full recipe and freeze the extra waffles 😀
How tall is it in the storage position? Thx
have you ever tried cooking other things in your waffle iron?
Hi, I haven't yet but definitely will. I know people have made versions of banana bread, brownies, pizza etc. It's great to experiment with the batter and see what you can make much faster with the waffle maker :)
yup. check out book called Will it Waffle. you'll find lots of recipes and ideas in it.
Is too hard 2 clean. Unless u have a removeable grate. And even then is still alot of work. Unless u can make it without leaking. Too much work
Ma’am I want your waffle recepi.. I bought this same one .. thank u

What does the flip do?
Help evenly distribute the batter. In theory.
what is the recipe? Does crunchiness relate to how much butter is in the recipe?
Hi Susan, here is the recipe:
2 cups all-purpose flour 1¾ cups milk
1 tablespoon sugar 2 eggs
1 tablespoon baking powder 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
¼ teaspoon salt
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in large bowl. Whisk milk, eggs, and oil in medium bowl. Whisk milk mixture into dry ingredients just until dry ingredients are thoroughly moistened. whats the recipe for the batter?

Acabo de comprar el presto , pero están que se queman todas, apesar que las pongo solo en 1 minuto..!
Can't wait to put chocolate chip inside these waffles
Sounds yummy 😋
They told mention that the timer requires a battery. A very low quality waffle maker.

I had this for 2 months before it started acting stupid with the timer
That timer looks stupid. What is this 1970?
Did not work
The Breville is far superior
Isn't the Breville like almost $200?
