When you explain it that way I can't help but think that the moment that sealed the deal for the Predator was Danny Glover's reaction to their appearance. He just had the fight of his life against something stronger, faster, and more than likely, more tactically savvy than him and came out on top. He even managed to literally and figuratively disarm this other predator, even circumventing their "Dead Man switch" play. The predator is impressed with this and probably already is thinking of letting the man live. Danny has no idea about any of this, or that most elite Predators are prone to letting prey like him survive in the hopes of another fight down the line; all he knows is that he's now surrounded by bigger and fully armed versions of the thing he barely survived. His reply to all of this is not to retrieve his only weapon, the blade disk lodged in the chest of the dead one; but to stand up, hold out his arms, sigh and simply ask one question: "OK.... Who's next?" If that kind of mindset doesn't warrant respect from a warrior race like the Predators, nothing does!

The worst part is that if someone with some actual talent took the script leak and revised it, we could have gotten a really awesome Predator 3. But noooooooooooo...
It gets worse. The leak happened years ago. So the script that they already had feedback on was sitting on the shelf for years and they just dusted it off and made it anyway, even though they already had feedback saying it sucked!
i have seen The Predator and it was terrible, though there was some glimmers of a good movie underneath, they shit all over the established lore. Though there was some nice nods to the other movies in the franchise.
Predator: 1718 the movie could've been a dual narrative. One focusing on Adolini and his exploits, in which he hears stories of some invisible demon hunting people. The other focusing on the predator hearing stories about Adolini and so he searches for him all over the Caribbean. It all builds up to this confrontation. There it is Hollywood. Just adapted it to feature length in like 30 seconds, while it took you 30 years to butcher Predator canon.
Imagine Aliens trying to hunt humans so they decided to emulate children’s voices in the dark to try to attract us, and then being so confuse as to why we are running for our lives instead of helping our young.
And instead of realizing their mistake and trying a new strategy they just keep perfecting their child decoys to the point they create super realistic child robots that called to people in the dark, and then being even more confuse as to why people are running faster and now shooting at them.

Seriously? They want to infuse human DNA with their own? And this is something mentioned in the trailers. This is so bad for many reasons. I mean, any fan of the Predator series grows to understand that while the Predators often respect members of other species, they're still pretty racist and absolutely hate it when someone messes with their DNA. I mean, despite using humans to breed Xenomorphs, they refer to Predaliens as abominations. Edit: What's even worse is the Predator series has a bunch of potential as you can set it in literally any time period or planet and yet studios constantly opt to set it in modern times. I mean, Predator 1 and 2 were alright as they set up the Predators and that they've been hunting people for centuries, the AVP movies set the series in modern times despite the future would've been a much cooler setting, Predators set it in an Alien jungle planet without making it very alien, and the new movie is still doing this shit. I mean, come on.
Avp series are not canon for both franchises. Yeah, predator 2 had alien skull in it, but that's more like an easter egg/reference thing. Still, the new predator is trash, yeah.
Can you imagine the trailer for the Pirate one? Say that's the one we're getting after 8 years and not this one. Just like have it open on a ship in calm, sunny seas... then go all Black Sails with it on how awesome the pirate guy is, like the movie's just about him. Then at the end, him looking into some trees and hear that clicking but who knows, it could be a bird. Close it with an angled up and out shot from behind as Grey Back lands but it's only close enough that you see his wristblades pop out. Then the screen fades to black and reads "Predator: 1718."
Great trailer. How about the final shot is of the pirate ship sailing away in the background and all of a sudden you hear the bleeping of the wrist control device and the preditor decloakes, obscuring the view but you only see its lower arm and its extended tallon?

I would love WWI vs predator, British tank crew have been in German territory for a day and haven’t seen another soul since the assault began, suddenly the come across a devastated French village, the civilians are no where to be seen and for some reason it looks like the Germans and allies had been holed up in the church together fending off some nebulous threat, all of the tanks outside are destroyed, how did this happen?
Later in the film they have gone further into the territory when they become aware of the creature hunting them they’ve fought it off once or twice, the Armor plating on this new tank prototype seems to be impervious to its melee attacks. Suddenly the engine cuts out, it’s a prototype and it was temperamental at best through the previous scenes. They decide to run on the path to the nearest village two miles away. The uptight hate-able officer pipes up “I won’t be able to stop it but I can buy you all some time” when they hear the ominous predator clicking noise.
They burst out of the tank, the officer has a rifle and begins shouting taunts as the others run away, he gets its attention as from off frame a massive arm smacks into the officer before he can get a shot off, the predator stalks over too him a brutal looking knife in hand, the officer scrambles backward his back hitting the side of the tank. The predator is about to strike but is struck in the back by a shot made by the young unsure rookie,l before running off at top speed. The officer uses this distraction to jump into the tank’s open door, the predator recovers and followed after kicking in in the back sending him deeper into the tank. But this was the officers plan, it’s too cramped back there oven for a human but these predators are huge, it’s got extremely limited mobility. The officer reaches his goal and sends off the emergency pigeon (it tells of the grave danger the predator poses) he turns on his back again as the predator stabs him in the gut with the knife but the officer pulls his service revolver and unloads into its helmet, the bullets ricochet off the metal and hit the engine severing a gas line, another lights the gas
The officer has shaken the predator off him but only momentarily he scrambles to find a new weapon while holding his injury, the predator’s mask was damaged he takes it off and throws it outside the tank (along with his broken knife) revealing its alien visage, our officer reaches his final destination, a small shelf atop which rests a trench mace bragged about by the cocky loud member of the crew, the predator jumps on the officer pummel in him. He lets up for a moment noticing the burning engine now making a high pitched whine as it is about to explode. This lull allows the officer to get in a few hits with the club but they more or less bounce off, the predator ends it swiftly snapping the officers neck, leaving the tank just in time before it explodes. Out of respect for the officer he uses the salvageable metal from the ruined tank to repeat his helmet and he goes back in the hunt to take out the rest of the tank crew
As predator tends to his burns and bullet wound we enter flashback we see him in his prime surrounded by dead xenomorphs and engineers, we clips of him fighting a multitude of aliens as he proves unstoppable but he is slowing down and gradually his dreads turn white, he is old now. We cut back to the village, the allies and Germans barricade themselves in the church and bicker. Meanwhile the predator stalks through a farmhouse in silence, upstairs in a room lit by gaslight he sees an old man asleep in a rocking chair, crutches rest on the wall and a blanket across his lap. We see that he has been working to defend himself in any way he can, by repairing an old double barrel shotgun predator is about to turn and leave, an old cripple is not good sport... he hesitates and turns back to the old man. The predator takes the shotgun from his lap and begins analysing and repairing it, midway through this process the old man wakes up. He is initially startled and recognises his inevitable demise but quickly comes to terms with it, he talks to the predator, lamenting his lost youth and health, “I am old... an old soldier... too old to fight, but never too old to die” the predator removes his helmet in respect and speaks “I... am... old... not... too... old... to... fight... never... to... old... to... die” the predator is past his prime and wishes for a worthy death. He hands the fixed gun back to the old man and crosses to the furthest corner of the room, he enters a ready stance the old man nods, he hear a roar as the predator charges at the man. Cut back to the church, the chatter is cut by the sound of two unearthly shotgun blasts, silence for a few seconds and then the predator roars once again, we see it on the roof of a barn skull and spine in hand

they really should just do historical settings. predator vs. pirates, vs. ninjas, vs knights, vs cowboys. or better yet, the random left turn. starts out a teen rom com, suddenly, predator.
I don’t think the pirate/historical encounters with predators would work as a movie, but they’d make a pretty badass mini-series where each episode is just an epic fight between the predator and a historical warrior.
If they didn't lose the costumes from the Ship scent at the end of Predator 2, I could easily see them being reused and re-purposed for a TV series where it shows Predator hunts throughout the centuries.

The fact that Predators hunt in order to steal DNA to augment themselves was introduced in Predators. The one with Adrian Brody. There were two factions of predators in that movie. The classic Predators which were trophie hunters. And the Super Predators, which hunted to steal genes. The Predator in 2018 just sounds like another Super Predator.
The Predators in Predators were just a subspecies, they weren't augmenting themselves(atleast not to the degree of what was introduced in 2018), but they did cheat being that they were Bad Bloods.

But the genetic modifications could be more common in other tribes. We don't know how common this is as we usually only see the Jungle Hunter tribe. IDEA: A Series based around the same Predator and in each episode he fights different famous figures and armies from the past, that way they could expand the Predator universe exponentially and set up some of the most amazing battles in TV history without having to make a massive effort on extending one incident... just saying.

Hollywood loves to not only misrepresent mental disorders, but to also use them to fill any and all plot holes they don't bother fixing. Perfect example, I can read a manual on how to fly a plane or learn a new language, but that doesn't mean I can fly a plane, yet in this script they have an autistic child piloting an alien spacecraft because he can somewhat understand their language. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Seriously. WTF is it with taking movies about creatures we want to see interact and tossing human main characters in there to be cheesey and ruin the tone and flow of the movie? FrozenLavaDragonProd I respectfully disagree. All I can remember is that one singer telling Freddie about Jason's long hard machete or something. The fight scenes were acceptable but needed to be way longer and all the filler with the convoluted plot to bring them together sucked all the tone right out of the movie.
When I read the general plot of "20 Million Miles to Earth," and seen it was a Harryhausen film about a giant space monster going towards Rome, I was so excited. Then I saw setting was in the same decade the movie was made in. Not certain what I'd like to see more... a movie showing fields of Roman Legions preparing to take on Godzilla, or a close, intricate film about a small group of Legionnaires that have to deal with a Predator as they are traveling.
The latter. Trust me. Hell, set it in the forests of Gaul, have the group be sent out to find a legion that went missing, let them find the entire legion was slaughtered by something, it wasn't the Gauls, and it hasn't left yet.

I think a movie based entirely in one time period would be too much. Maybe a vignette of a predator fighting people throughout history and eventually being the one pred who was killed by Arnold.
Including this pistol in Prey was such a stupid pointless addition. Plus, this pistol was owned by an Italian pirate captain in the comics so Prey's version is so much weaker and less imaginative.

The first Predator is genuine classic, and i could praise for hours-- literally the first horror and R rated movie I accidentally watched. And I absolutely adore Predator 2. But I think Predators is underrated.

The thing I love most about these videos are the fact that they actually have interesting facts and aren't compiled into a "amazing" (actually annoying) top ten list.
If they weren't able to adapt any one of those ideas into a coherent screenplay why not have it play out like Highlander; with a single Predator meeting up with adversaries from throughout history in a series of vignettes. That way you can have your pirates, your ninjas, your special forces guys and possibly some science fiction scenario towards the end where the humans have turned it round on them and have built up the necessary technology to outclass the predators and are seeking them out for extermination? I imagine it would be pretty expensive to stage with name actors but the monster is the thing that carries the franchise at the moment so why not market it on how absurdly over the top it is as a concept and get people invested based on the spectacle rather than in character arcs for the people that get bumped off?
Simo "The white death" Hayha could probably take down a squad of Predators. Using molotvs to overload their heat sensors, setting traps, dodging their laser-guided guns because the laser reflects off his mask onto the snow and freezing one in a lake so he has to take his clothes off for a shirtless final battle with a predator that realized their advanced technology, which doesn't work in the extreme cold, is only holding them back after finding out that Simo intentionally doesn't use a scope for his rifle so he steals a Soviet weapon and shoots Simo in the face but even that only knocks him out but not before Simo gets one last shot in.
The entire AVP movie takes place in the Antarctic and their tech works fine. Also did you just say a regular human getting shot in the face with a rifle would only knock him out?
But just call it Adolini the pirate. No word of the Predator in the title,comercials, anything. Only the real fans would know what to expect. They need to recapture the suprise from the first film.
and have it so the pred is mostly hidden for most of the movie and it shows how much of a badass Adolini is as a pirate until the mutiny and it shows the predator stalking him through the shadows that you will most likely only see on re-views.

But I still don't understand how they couldn't make a Predator movie set in the past work. Its obvious people love the idea, meaning its guaranteed to make money, it would probably be cheaper to produce than something like Infinity War (which also made lots of money), and because there's so many possibilities with the premise, they can make a shit ton of other successful films, which again, would make Hollywood tons of money! Didn't they have another movie where a broken droid was being creative and found the Prometheus or was on it thinking he was God. He destroyed them giant dudes and modified the goo bio weapon things into what we know as Aliens? Alien: Covenant (2017) Peter Weyland makes a new droid who calls himself called David. (Flash back?) In 2104, 10 years after the Prometheus expedition Covenant pricks up a "human" radio transmission. David and Walter brother droids, they meet and have a moment. David was crew of the Prometheus and Walter crew of the Covenant. Aliens vs humans. PromeDroid wins and continues to modify his pets with a new ship that was heading to colonize a planet. Oh yeah he was very broken, almost dead but somebody fixed him and not to well so when they were gone he lived on and thus became God of the Aliens, facehuggers, father to them all.
I know the xenomorphs have an established history in ancient Egypt but if I’m not mistaken, the predators do too and I think it’d be wicked cool to see a movie in that time period

i have seen The Predator and it was terrible, though there was some glimmers of a good movie underneath, they shit all over the established lore. Though there was some nice nods to the other movies in the franchise.
Predator: 1718 the movie could've been a dual narrative. One focusing on Adolini and his exploits, in which he hears stories of some invisible demon hunting people. The other focusing on the predator hearing stories about Adolini and so he searches for him all over the Caribbean. It all builds up to this confrontation. There it is Hollywood. Just adapted it to feature length in like 30 seconds, while it took you 30 years to butcher Predator canon.
I'd watch the fuck out of that.

I mean, any fan of the Predator series grows to understand that while the Predators often respect members of other species, they're still pretty racist and absolutely hate it when someone messes with their DNA. Can you imagine the trailer for the Pirate one? Say that's the one we're getting after 8 years and not this one. Just like have it open on a ship in calm, sunny seas... then go all Black Sails with it on how awesome the pirate guy is, like the movie's just about him. Then at the end, him looking into some trees and hear that clicking but who knows, it could be a bird. Close it with an angled up and out shot from behind as Grey Back lands but it's only close enough that you see his wristblades pop out. Then the screen fades to black and reads "Predator: 1718."

British tank crew have been in German territory for a day and haven’t seen another soul since the assault began, suddenly the come across a devastated French village, the civilians are no where to be seen and for some reason it looks like the Germans and allies had been holed up in the church together fending off some nebulous threat, all of the tanks outside are destroyed, how did this happen?
Later in the film they have gone further into the territory when they become aware of the creature hunting them they’ve fought it off once or twice, the Armor plating on this new tank prototype seems to be impervious to its melee attacks. Suddenly the engine cuts out, it’s a prototype and it was temperamental at best through the previous scenes. They decide to run on the path to the nearest village two miles away. The uptight hate-able officer pipes up “I won’t be able to stop it but I can buy you all some time” when they hear the ominous predator clicking noise.
They burst out of the tank, the officer has a rifle and begins shouting taunts as the others run away, he gets its attention as from off frame a massive arm smacks into the officer before he can get a shot off, the predator stalks over too him a brutal looking knife in hand, the officer scrambles backward his back hitting the side of the tank. The predator is about to strike but is struck in the back by a shot made by the young unsure rookie,l before running off at top speed. The officer uses this distraction to jump into the tank’s open door, the predator recovers and followed after kicking in in the back sending him deeper into the tank. But this was the officers plan, it’s too cramped back there oven for a human but these predators are huge, it’s got extremely limited mobility. The officer reaches his goal and sends off the emergency pigeon (it tells of the grave danger the predator poses) he turns on his back again as the predator stabs him in the gut with the knife but the officer pulls his service revolver and unloads into its helmet, the bullets ricochet off the metal and hit the engine severing a gas line, another lights the gas
The officer has shaken the predator off him but only momentarily he scrambles to find a new weapon while holding his injury, the predator’s mask was damaged he takes it off and throws it outside the tank (along with his broken knife) revealing its alien visage, our officer reaches his final destination, a small shelf atop which rests a trench mace bragged about by the cocky loud member of the crew, the predator jumps on the officer pummel in him. He lets up for a moment noticing the burning engine now making a high pitched whine as it is about to explode. This lull allows the officer to get in a few hits with the club but they more or less bounce off, the predator ends it swiftly snapping the officers neck, leaving the tank just in time before it explodes. Out of respect for the officer he uses the salvageable metal from the ruined tank to repeat his helmet and he goes back in the hunt to take out the rest of the tank crew
As predator tends to his burns and bullet wound we enter flashback we see him in his prime surrounded by dead xenomorphs and engineers, we clips of him fighting a multitude of aliens as he proves unstoppable but he is slowing down and gradually his dreads turn white, he is old now. We cut back to the village, the allies and Germans barricade themselves in the church and bicker. Meanwhile the predator stalks through a farmhouse in silence, upstairs in a room lit by gaslight he sees an old man asleep in a rocking chair, crutches rest on the wall and a blanket across his lap. We see that he has been working to defend himself in any way he can, by repairing an old double barrel shotgun predator is about to turn and leave, an old cripple is not good sport... he hesitates and turns back to the old man. The predator takes the shotgun from his lap and begins analysing and repairing it, midway through this process the old man wakes up. He is initially startled and recognises his inevitable demise but quickly comes to terms with it, he talks to the predator, lamenting his lost youth and health, “I am old... an old soldier... too old to fight, but never too old to die” the predator removes his helmet in respect and speaks “I... am... old... not... too... old... to... fight... never... to... old... to... die” the predator is past his prime and wishes for a worthy death. He hands the fixed gun back to the old man and crosses to the furthest corner of the room, he enters a ready stance the old man nods, he hear a roar as the predator charges at the man. Cut back to the church, the chatter is cut by the sound of two unearthly shotgun blasts, silence for a few seconds and then the predator roars once again, we see it on the roof of a barn skull and spine in hand

Hollywood loves to not only misrepresent mental disorders, but to also use them to fill any and all plot holes they don't bother fixing. Perfect example, I can read a manual on how to fly a plane or learn a new language, but that doesn't mean I can fly a plane, yet in this script they have an autistic child piloting an alien spacecraft because he can somewhat understand their language. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

When I read the general plot of "20 Million Miles to Earth," and seen it was a Harryhausen film about a giant space monster going towards Rome, I was so excited. Then I saw setting was in the same decade the movie was made in.
Not certain what I'd like to see more... a movie showing fields of Roman Legions preparing to take on Godzilla, or a close, intricate film about a small group of Legionnaires that have to deal with a Predator as they are traveling.

The thing I love most about these videos are the fact that they actually have interesting facts and aren't compiled into a "amazing" (actually annoying) top ten list.
If they weren't able to adapt any one of those ideas into a coherent screenplay why not have it play out like Highlander; with a single Predator meeting up with adversaries from throughout history in a series of vignettes.
That way you can have your pirates, your ninjas, your special forces guys and possibly some science fiction scenario towards the end where the humans have turned it round on them and have built up the necessary technology to outclass the predators and are seeking them out for extermination?
I imagine it would be pretty expensive to stage with name actors but the monster is the thing that carries the franchise at the moment so why not market it on how absurdly over the top it is as a concept and get people invested based on the spectacle rather than in character arcs for the people that get bumped off?
I really hope that the new Predator movie doesn’t suck because it comes out on my b-day.

Simo "The white death" Hayha could probably take down a squad of Predators. Using molotvs to overload their heat sensors, setting traps, dodging their laser-guided guns because the laser reflects off his mask onto the snow and freezing one in a lake so he has to take his clothes off for a shirtless final battle with a predator that realized their advanced technology, which doesn't work in the extreme cold, is only holding them back after finding out that Simo intentionally doesn't use a scope for his rifle so he steals a Soviet weapon and shoots Simo in the face but even that only knocks him out but not before Simo gets one last shot in.
The entire AVP movie takes place in the Antarctic and their tech works fine. Also did you just say a regular human getting shot in the face with a rifle would only knock him out?

and have it so the pred is mostly hidden for most of the movie and it shows how much of a badass Adolini is as a pirate until the mutiny and it shows the predator stalking him through the shadows that you will most likely only see on re-views.

2:04 if i remember correctly, in a duel it is against the rules for the predators to use their camo, shoulder cannon, and to wear their mask so it would be a pretty even fight for a human... this is because they are very big on the idea of having an honorable fight and death
But I still don't understand how they couldn't make a Predator movie set in the past work. Its obvious people love the idea, meaning its guaranteed to make money, it would probably be cheaper to produce than something like Infinity War (which also made lots of money), and because there's so many possibilities with the premise, they can make a shit ton of other successful films, which again, would make Hollywood tons of money! Damn, even when I try to think at their level I don't understand Hollywood!

Didn't they have another movie where a broken droid was being creative and found the Prometheus or was on it thinking he was God. He destroyed them giant dudes and modified the goo bio weapon things into what we know as Aliens?

David and Walter brother droids, they meet and have a moment. David was crew of the Prometheus and Walter crew of the Covenant. Aliens vs humans. PromeDroid wins and continues to modify his pets with a new ship that was heading to colonize a planet.
Oh yeah he was very broken, almost dead but somebody fixed him and not to well so when they were gone he lived on and thus became God of the Aliens, facehuggers, father to them all.

I've never understood the excuse that it can't be adapted into cinema or whatever. A comic is literally a fucking scene by scene storyboard of the entire story.
