Don't do it! Just train into ice for tower, death for feint, or life to satyr: Don't be the one who likes to just waste training points, please save them
yes but come later levels its a waste of a point simply because you'll eventually get enough accuracy to power through most everything. Wouldn't waste the points on keen eyes. Only the strong-monstrous or gargantuan or whatever.
I think the concept of the moon school is great, but nobody uses it. If it got a nice buff, people would probably use it more. But I have a bad feeling that the wiz creators gave up on the moon school after Khrysalis.
I use moon on my myth, shift greenoak is a great spell in PvP and is a really great spell just to have now with pip conversion. Since it gets rid of weaknesses and I never have to really worry about my shields on my myth, green oak is the only moon school spell i've ever used.
Mr.mcrainbows the only polymorph I found semi useful is the Life jaguar for the free heals. Most of the time you’ll come out of the 6 rounds at much higher health
For me, Satyr just isn't worth it without a mastery amulet. That 4 pips (8 if we're talking power pips) for the heal is crippling, because the heal will be rendered useless in the rounds you spend building your pips back up. And you can't always plan for having a good number of pips when you cast Satyr because there are instances where a situation is desperate and you're going to lose the next round.
Mastery Amulets aren't always a good choice, and I certainly wouldn't wear one just for one spell. If you're holding yourself down with a Mastery for one spell, you aren't able to use other amulets that may be more helpful in combat.
I use satyr all the time when I solo on my fire. It really isn't that bad. Yeah, you have to choose between attacking and survival, but time in a duel is quickly passed with 0 pip spells such as charms and wards. Shadow-enhanced attack spells also have a reduced pip cost because of their shadow pip, so attacking has become more convenient for higher levels.
"I'm not going to get satyr on my fire, not gonna heal, there's no reason to do that" he says as I cast Satyr on my fire wizard (I am listening and playing wiz)
DapperShinx what he means by "not going to heal" is that he isnt the healer when he plays with other people. Blaze typically doesnt play by himself so he has no need for the life school. Especially on fire. Hope this helps make sense.
Storm has the highest damage and the lowest health so feint is not a good option. I always get satyr and try to farm life mastery amulet. Even if I don't get it I would rather go satyr than feint.
I made this mistake when I first played the game I chose life then learned ice up to colossus. Thankfully they had occasional free training points refund so I could train for feint and tower
thank you for answering this. i was tired of people asking this question. i mean, in all honesty its pretty obvious that you wouldnt pick up a secondary school. it just doesnt make sense. even if you did, you would do no damage since there isnt a lot of gear (especially at low level) that give damage, accuaracy, crit, etc to two different schools. its better just to get what you need from each school insteaf of wasting training points. i remember reading a comment thread about people giving tips on what schools you should duo. it was so sad.
Oscar Escalera Well let's be honest, when we all started playing wizard101 for the first time, nobody knew secondary schools will become useless as you progress into the story. I made the mistake you probably made that mistake everyone did when it's their first time.
You're right about al but one thing. You're definitely wrong about the gear. If you keep up with the crafting for your world each world has vendors, one vendor for each school. The recipes they give you are to gear, which gives you a piece of gear for your school and one other school combination. This starts in Krokotopia. IE, Frostflame Helmet +5% ice attack +10% Ice damage +5% fire accuracy +5% fire attack. That's all made up but its almost exactly like that.
I regret having a secondary school it was a waste of training points, if only we would be able to trade in our training points back and forget the spell
It depends on how you like to play. Having a secondary school basically allows you not rely on prism as much. While tower shield and feint are very good spells to learn, most of the time if you are playing just PvE you can easily get away with not using those spells. For my fire wizard, I learned storm as my secondary school, it worked well until later when I don’t want to waste power pip for storm spells. But you only spend the training points up to 42 for your secondary school, so it doesn’t really prevent you from learning tower shield and feint later.
personally I think there are a few exceptions, i play a life wizard and after getting feint I trained in myth to get humungofrog to compensate for lifes lack of a 4 pip aoe. so for schools like life and death I can see a use for them to train into ice, fire, myth or balance for an aoe. I chose myth so I could use the spirit blade spells myth blade for the aoe, life blade for any follow up spells and the death blade for my wand hits.
As a balance, i fully trained another school to fight balance enemies until i unlocked shrike, shrike is amazing for a solo questing balance. So my recommendation would be only to commit to a secondary school if you're balance, i would choose storm, fire, or death until you unlock shrike. Other schools should just do what blaze says in the video.
Balance should have storm because although I rarely used it, there were times where it was storm that let me beat certain bosses especially for getting the ra spell, it also helps for fighting nearly anything that has too much balance resist since even if they -50% for storm it would still do more damage then then the balance which gets overpowered by the resist.
Basic information: ice to tower astral to epic auras are your choice. Feint is a necessity, satyr isn't if you're a balance. elemental/spirit blade is useful. Shift spells are ok, some people only use the life one (350 and balance blade)

for storm, life is not needed. Pixie is enough, and healing current can be good with primordial or radical. A critical healing current with primordial is minimum 400 hp for 2 pips, and at max you gain back all your health.
On my max life I got tower trained feint trained and i got a balance amulet and i've trained up to powernova and i even got the balance dispel because i have mastery. The reason I did this is because I got a balance mastery from omen and it's helped me so much even when I use TC's like if I use Chimera it'll do a lot for life but it'll do a lot for myth and death too because I got spirit Blade and I finally got a 4 pip aoe. I only use balance in pvp if i'm tasked as being the healer and I use powernova for the weaknesses and i put in spectral just in case there's one alive. I also have a storm wizard (level 94) that's trained in feint and is currently training in healing spells. I have a fire mastery amulet from Cronus and I use this for Efreet in pvp and that's it and fire elf too for tower shield spammers. Though I think i'm gonna hold off on the life healing spells since I already have healing current and maycast healing spells on my pvp pet and I'm gonna dwell into fire. I also got these boots from khrysalis (Vendor Located in Sardonyx) that give me Fire damage and Storm damage but not universal block only block to fire and storm so be careful if you decide using these (it has mixes for every school by the way). I also have Berserk on my Storm and Aura's for both of my wzards (cycle of life and devotion) and all Sun Enchants including potent primodial (upgraded version too) and sharpen. I think you should have a secondary school because it really does help you in some cases.
secondary school isnt necessary Just train: Ice until you get tower shield Life until you get satyr Death until you get feint And train reshuffle in Colossus As long as you have those 4 cards you're set
Nah, although not required, earthquake is a pretty good spell (especially if you pvp) As long as you have feint, tower, satyr (which since your death isnt needed aswell), and reshuffle, you're good to go
Before I even watch the video I'm going to comment: I never train to secondary. I use certain schools. for instance death till feint, Life to satyr, and I used the rest of my training points on important things. yes I could do the tower shield, but it wouldn't be a point since I already have the other -70 shields in other schools protecting me from everything but balance. that where the star spell comes in -15 or 20 to all schools.
I actually like a secondary school. It helps a lot especially in worlds up to about mooshu for killing enemies in the same school as you. It actually helped me a lot in Celestia too. Now I ended up with a ton of training points, so I also trained in life so I can finally heal my friends.
ER Bram thats what converts are for, they make it to where you dont need to use another school. and you cant really heal your friends if you arent life. just make a life character for that, if not, you are pretty useless unless you have a life mastery.
I'm a level 19 balance and I am also studying life on the side so that I can be a support for a group one day. If you think about it, balance has stuff like elemental blade and reshuffle and a normal blade. When you add life to that concoction you get healing+shields. All together, you end up with the attack bonus for your team (balance) and healing (life). Just sharing my thoughts :P
Or you can go for a strong life that is a good healer and the blades you will learn anyway so it would be better if you are life and then learn balance.
balance and life are one of the only good combos for main and secondaries, if you want to go pure support it isnt bad, also include death feint, and i spend most of my training points on astral schools
I thought you were supposed to pick up spells from as many schools as you wanted. However. Doing that only messed up my deck and didn’t give me what I needed. On my ice wizard character I’m training up in life for healing I mean once I level up more and gain training points I may dabble in other schools but for now, I need healing spells too in order to solo the game.
So I bought back my training points when there was the free member buyback because I never used my death spells. I realized that I don't have feint anymore. I'm a level 66 fire, should I train back up to it?
personally im just really confused on, as a death wizard, i dont have an aoe and it bothers me. im up to level 33 and i looked into the rest of the spells ill eventually learn and none are aoe. i just did a first hatch waiting for it to hatch this thurs in hopes of an aoe but its really expensive and im not sure what i should do next at this point and feel as if i should find a secondary school for an aoe. do you have feedback for me?
How long does it take you to level up in this game. Back in the day when I played it it would take so long to level up. Like how long did it take you to reach level 120 also do you have a leveling guide
There really is no purpose for a "Levelling Guide" in Wizard101.. I mean honestly, just follow the main storyline and do what the game tells you and you should be fine. As far as +Ya'Boi , I can't see why it took you that long unless you completed every optional sidequest as well as the main story, I'm working on an interesting character right now and I've finished Krok in just under 2 hours.
Blaze I agree, mostly. If you're balance though, it's wise to learn some sort of spirit secondary school (death is probably the best) because until you learn chimera, balance enemies are near impossible. I would've had so much more difficulty with the game if I didn't get life as my secondary.
Pathfindgaming you must have not been playing right. I did perfectly fine as a balance soloing the game. Only time i used a different school was for the plague oni, and that was a tc death spell. Its honestly easier to buy tc's than investing useless points in a secondary school.
Pathfindgaming also spectral blast does tons of damage early game, thats why they give it to you. And late game just go hydra, but after mooshu you rarely see any balance bosses (i dont talk about balance mobs because those are easy to kill).
Ok cool, you had a good time, but hydra is difficult to use in celestia for in that world, it's damage isn't that good. Same goes for spectral blast, I don't see how that spell is good after unicorn way, it can't even kill the first enemy in one hit.
I actually got a Death Mastery Amulet during one of my Waterworks runs while I was trying to get gear, so I figured I’d use it on my Life and train beyond Feint since I’d be able to handle Life enemies without the need for a prism. It’s quite useful if you know what you’re doing, so while I don’t recommend it, it can work out.
I really don't get this concept. Is he talking competitively? Because going through the story I found myself stuck if I used just one type of magic. I main a Myth wizard, when I got to a boss that resisted Myth. Hell, Humongofrog, a spell that deals 325 damage, was dealing only 90 damage. I am not exaggerating. I changed up my deck and finally beat the boss with my secondary magic, Balance. The boss was a pushover then, so what exactly is the point of using a monotype school? If you're not going to even use the spells that you waste your training points on, what's the point? You could have such a wide versatile spell-book, but you choose to waste them all on one spell when you could easily just craft, or buy the spell you want with treasure cards at the bazaar at the Wizard City Library... I don't get it.
That's why you use prisms. It's all about strategy. Using prisms on same school bosses is pretty much the only way to beat them without using another school. But you also have to understand, that without a specific amulet, other school spells dont benefit from power pips. Sure, you could invest in another school, but why do that when you could be making your main school even stronger. The only reason why you would even consider going into another school is for either blades, traps, or shields. Since I main life, I already have major healing spells, so I dont need to spec into that.
A Garlic no, thats why balance has the elemental hits like hydra and the other spell i forgot the name of. Balance gear early game typically has some stats in three elements, but not much. Its better to go forward with balance because, if you build it right, its one of the more overpowered schools. I did the entire game solo as balance until i got to wintertusk. Just stay with the build, but if you must have a secondary school that bad, just buy tc death spells for the balance cover. There isnt a point in wasting all the training points in a school you arent going to use after dragonspyre.
Oscar Escalera I agree with you, but still recommend training up to feint for balance. Especially since balance is one of the main supporting schools. Not sure about training tower though, due to balance having the elemental shield and spirit shield spells
Hey Blaze; do you think you could make a video about Everclicker, the next app game by KI. There's currently a promotion on it on Wiz and Pirate, and it's full of interesting heroes and mobs, using models from the previous games!
I've been playing on and off for years and never have never really been proficient at the game. Do most people rely upon prisms almost entirely when facing their school opponents? My main wizard is balance and I always had trouble going up against balance creatures so from the beginning I trained in ice (it had cool spells) as balance had no form of prism and relying pun hydra, chimera, and spectral blast (though its fun to pull off a 2-3k (ish) hit first turn with spectral when your lower level) is rather tricky, since many balance creature put up an elemental or spirit shield. What do you guys reccomendThinking of maybe starting a new balance wizard to actually focus on gathering equpemt sets that benefit damage (I know I'm dumb) and I have 2 real low lvl wiz one death and other myth~thanks
I don’t really get this tip. Yeah, I understand that in some cases you need to save the points but take my wizard for example. As an ice wizard in my main school I can take a lot of hits, but I can’t deal that much damage and I literally have no healing spells in my school. That means if I want that damage or healing buff I have to look to other schools (personally I went to storm since it’s spells deal the most damage)
As an ice wizard, you are the tank wiz. You tank all the hits because of your shields and high health. Your spells are among the weakest in the game, but they start to grow more powerful as you level up. Early on in the game, yes storm spells can help you deal more damage. But once you hit around mooshu, you will regret training storm. Your ice damage will increase due to your gear, while your storm spells will not use power pips and not have any damage boost from your gear. You have to be patient with ice, since it takes a little bit for your damage to get going.
Hey blaze I have a question I am currently trying to start recording again but I have troubles recording I have dxtory I am using right now and all I get is sound and no video could I have some advice on what to do? Thank you for your time
This question kind of reminds of should you double major in college.
Fair, although in terms of difficulty one involves a few mouse clicks and the other involves like a ton of work.
@@micahgoldson1253yeah college is the former, wizard 101 is the latter
Don't do it! Just train into ice for tower, death for feint, or life to satyr: Don't be the one who likes to just waste training points, please save them

Why not have Satyr for Balance?
For me, Satyr just isn't worth it without a mastery amulet.

DapperShinx what he means by "not going to heal" is that he isnt the healer when he plays with other people. Blaze typically doesnt play by himself so he has no need for the life school. Especially on fire. Hope this helps make sense.

Everyone should train up to feint, if you do PvP defiantly get tower, and of course get the triple balance blade of your school.
My only exception to having a secondary is if your balance near the beginning of the game so you dont have to fight through enemy resist
as a storm, i trained feint and weakness. the only schools you really need is sun and star..
That's an OK thought but you will be pointless offensively. You will have to go full defense gear to undergo your blades and heals dream
I thought you were supposed to pick up spells from as many schools as you wanted.
However. Doing that only messed up my deck and didn’t give me what I needed.
On my ice wizard character I’m training up in life for healing
I mean once I level up more and gain training points I may dabble in other schools but for now, I need healing spells too in order to solo the game.
i forgot how bad wiz101 used to look XD this was a blast to the past
Don’t do it, I did and then I bought my points back and all my wizards don’t have a secondary school. Unless like most do and that is, feint.
Im ice and trained for feint and satyr. I dont think i need life anymore though. Astral spells mightve been better.
So I bought back my training points when there was the free member buyback because I never used my death spells. I realized that I don't have feint anymore. I'm a level 66 fire, should I train back up to it?
This game brings me back
The reason why I think two schools isn't a good is that you can run ice for the health and storm for the damage
Long answer short, don't. Ice to tower, death to feint, life to satyr.
i used to have a secondary storm and i regretted it
Jades: weakness satyr and tower
Just take ice to tower , death to feint , both if you are Storm .
For fire take Life up to Satyr
And elemental blade or spirit blade
personally im just really confused on, as a death wizard, i dont have an aoe and it bothers me. im up to level 33 and i looked into the rest of the spells ill eventually learn and none are aoe. i just did a first hatch waiting for it to hatch this thurs in hopes of an aoe but its really expensive and im not sure what i should do next at this point and feel as if i should find a secondary school for an aoe. do you have feedback for me?
Death has scarecrow and Deere knight and a couple shadow spells that are aoe. Really good class
Your the last class to get aoe, like how ice gets to be last class to get blade lol
How long does it take you to level up in this game. Back in the day when I played it it would take so long to level up. Like how long did it take you to reach level 120 also do you have a leveling guide
According to people who play nonstop, it takes one month to finish the game.
I mean, I played a good 5 hours a day for a month usually, and in one month I didn’t even finish Krok. ^
Jordan Jones Takes as long as it always did, more time you put in the less time it takes. Lv.50 was attainable in like a month or less.
Ya' Boi The hell are you doing in Krok that requires a whole month?
Blaze I agree, mostly. If you're balance though, it's wise to learn some sort of spirit secondary school (death is probably the best) because until you learn chimera, balance enemies are near impossible. I would've had so much more difficulty with the game if I didn't get life as my secondary.
Spectral Blast?
Yeah but that doesn't do much damage
Same goes for spectral blast, I don't see how that spell is good after unicorn way, it can't even kill the first enemy in one hit.
if you buy back training points does it get rid of cards you got as drops?
Emerald Apple It does not
What about a video for best class to solo, and The best spells to get
Omni Ranger death
it is worth it but only for specific builds. having ice as primary and fire as secondary is broken af
And what if I just play pve I see no problem with 2 school you just have to be good at it
I just chose life for the heals
death doesn't need a secondary school literally lol
I'm balance, so you kinda need one, since there is no balance prism.. right?
I do life until i get the lvl 26 healing spell and tower sheild in ice
True but I still like being Death and half Fire lvl 73 :)
On my death I was stupid enough to go all the way to centaur instead of satyr
SquareToDare First time training point buyback is free ^.^ or you could wait for the member benefit
You shouldn't even train life as a death.
keep up the good work
death to feint, life to satyr, ice to tower, (balance to dragonblade?) and krokosphinx no fking sec school
Hey Blaze; do you think you could make a video about Everclicker, the next app game by KI. There's currently a promotion on it on Wiz and Pirate, and it's full of interesting heroes and mobs, using models from the previous games!
if you were balance wouldn't you want a secondary school due to spells like elemental blade
I have learned
Fire my primary
Ice
Death only for feint
Balance and I want to get rid of it
And I have collasal
train feint and tower
I feel that Doom and Gloom isn't worth it, because then, if someone crit on you, you wouldn't be able to heal.
And ive been learning myth on my storm wizard, now i think damn soo much tp lost
Can you do an update thoughts on this. Since there has been a lot more added to the game??
Funny, I saw a thread on r/wizard101 just like this yesterday.....
i want that house
oof, I had a fire wiz with all Storm spells.
I have a death with all balance spells
If you keep buying back your training points I think the crown price increases every time you do so.
Guys
You only get the free buy back at level 12. You can only use 3, then of you use more, you have to buy crowns.
Hey blaze I have a question I am currently trying to start recording again but I have troubles recording I have dxtory I am using right now and all I get is sound and no video could I have some advice on what to do? Thank you for your time
I love these boiiiii
Does a life/death spec make sense?I’m thinking of buying the game in doing that with my next wizard
I'm fire I'm 2 other schools no 3 a bit I trained life and death for feint and life I got sayter
I always do tbh. That's why the learning points exist
AlwaysFarting you use them later on for sun school or have them early for one spell like feint or ice shield
Lol you mean "Training" points
You save them for good Astral spells.
Blaze, why do you think they won't let anyone in the Shadow School? Or why do we never see the Shadow Professor since the first quest?
I am Life School Main what should I go into?
Doesn't help that game encourage you to do it
if only it would be cool though.
yea just get satyr and tower shield
I'm on level 67(fire) I have a long way to go.
Seeing that I have Road warrior gear and the amulet letting me use power pips with death spells while I am a fire, worth trained up to bone dragon.
