    These are really interesting Masterclasses. Katsaris does a very concentrated work he gives technical support and does develop the imagination of the students to get them not just playing notes but to understand the text and also emotional context.

    Liszt said in a Masterclass at the end of his life, about the middle section at 16:22 : “Do I care how fast you can play your octaves? What I wish to hear is the canter of the horses of the Polish cavalry before they gather force and destroy the enemy!" (F. Liszt coted by several of his pupils).

    素晴らしいレッスンだ。ショパンの詩的な意味を表現することをカツアリスは求めている。ショパンの生きていた時代の、文化、特に芸術、特に音楽について、上手に説明をする。作曲技術的には、ショパンが失敗した部分であっても、そこには目をやらずに、作曲家の肩を持って美しく音にするのが、演奏家なのだ。モチーフの展開力には、間違いなく欠けている面がある。軍隊ポロネーズ、ソナタ二番などである。ベートーベンには、オペラ・劇音楽・歌曲以外にはない。

    I would have loved to have a piano teacher so prepared, but also caring not to bless the sensitivity of his student. This last one is not prepared technically, but he never tells him so, always using another way to let him understand it.

    Can we talk about effortless and rapid those octaves at 18:22 are? Dear god I've never seen anyone play that little passage so fast!

    • @theadventureinsider
      @theadventureinsider Рік тому +2

      As someone who is actually working on this piece, that really is way tougher than it looks, as if it didn't already look difficult enough. Even if you know what technique works best (which will differ between individual pianists), it takes an insane amount of strength, mobility, and endurance to play it like you're playing singles as staccatos instead.

    • @theadventureinsider
      @theadventureinsider Рік тому +1

      And it's even tougher to switch directions in the transitional part. You go mostly counter-clockwise then all of a sudden you have to do a clockwise loop 3+ times. Even though it's only 3 loops, that's one hell of a switch

    • @tackontitan
      @tackontitan Рік тому

      @theadventureinsider I just practiced those 17 measures before the modulation for about 30 minutes a day at a slow tempo for about 2 weeks until I got brave enough to start adding the right hand. I don't think I could play as fast as katsaris but I could at least play it accurately without too much fatigue.

    Ja je kan wel zeggen je moet je hand zo houden in deze phrase maar iedere hand is anders dus Cyprien doet het zo maar een andere pianist kan het anders doen. en zijn interpratie van het stuk zal zeker gebaseerd zijn op bronnen en zijn eigen inzichten maar dat gelul over de toonsoorten wordt ik moe van. Hij Cyprien kan wel goed spelen maar zijn masterclasses zijn shit

      Are you kidding ? The guy plays excellently , if he didn't Katsaris wouldn't have chosen him for his Masterclass, it amazes me that you ignore that simple fact. The Masterclass is to perfect his playing , technique and interpretation .. hence the name "Master class".

    • @virtuozlaboucledor9083
      @virtuozlaboucledor9083 4 роки тому +7

      What do you expect from a masterclass ? It is not great to learn some "basic" tricks on How to learn, how to make it ?
      You critic his scale but you not congratulate him about his Octave (left hand) ?
      If you want just to listen a "Perfect" "technical" version of this Polonaise then just listen the "Masters" and not come here to critic a student. And you? How's your scale ? It is perfect ? And your octave ?
