They better keep the frontiers open world formula so they can improve on it in the next future games. Also, keep Ian Flynn as the story write for future sonic games from now on.
If they don't improve the engine then I'd prefer they keep using the unleashed or adventure formula cuz that pop-in is disgusting. At first I was like "oh there's just some pop-in in the air it can't be that bad" but it's gotten so fucking bad later in the game that it can affect the gameplay and ruin your experience.

For those who don't feel like doing anything but run around the island and explore at top speed, have free bird blasting in the background for full immersion, specifically the guitar solo. Trust me it feels amazing!

Hopefully we'll still have the Open World Free Exploring style gameplay with a Day To Night Cycle without loading screens getting in the way like RPGs do. It's a nice change of pace from the usual stages and loading screens I do enjoy them but we need something different for The Sonic Series we have the Werehog and Sonic using swords ideas it be cool to see them again especially guns and other stuff and have everyone else playable too including Cream Shadow Sonic Silver Tails Amy Knuckles and the others permanently Sonic Games that deserve it and remastered versions Shadow the Hedgehog Sonic 06 Sonic Unleashed Sonic and The Secret Rings and Sonic and The Black Knight with Open World Free Exploring and Day to Night Cycles with no hourglass thingies and loading screens. I love these Dark Age Sonic Videogames.
Here’s why I don’t like sonic fronteirs, first off, I don’t like the idea of it all being in one biome, I like the idea of different zones in sonic games.

I just fear that the story won't give a good enough reason for why everything has turned somber. Sonic could be serious or light hearted tone wise but each needs a payoff. Still have not played the game though.

There are 5 different biomes, this is just the first one, each biome has its own theme and levels but I get what you mean
5 (I think) different open zones and mini levels using levels from older games it's quite nice so far.

There’s two different modes to it. Action mode is what this guy is using and High speed mode where well you know. Sonic actually moves fast.
