I'm not saying they are not good players, what I'm saying is that they were ignorant. You can clearly see that the other player was really thinking about the play, this just means that tog + naturalize wasn't the play at all, and even the other player realized that. It's really baffling that they couldn't shut up for a moment and think why that kind of play was made. Hakkar druid isn't even a "secret deck", even amateur players know how this deck plays out, and that to counter it, you just have to mill the blood. With that said, you only really need to think about HOW could he mill the blood? Well, if you followed his play, you would realize (again if you shut up and thought for a second) that the Chinese player was on to something. Instead what, you got the casters literally braindead spamming "just tog and naturalize", which set the whole mood of the chat. no one might read this, but i am going to tell this little anecdote anyway because it was a step above this particular tournament play, but it's from my hearthstone experiences... I don't exactly remember the deck I was playing at the time, it might have been OTK horsemen paladin, but it's not relevant to the scenario. I faced a hakkar druid, and made the read that he was so from just recently seeing some play of it on youtube channels just like this one :) I understood this mechanic of leaving hand space for the ransom, but not for subsequent draws, and I set up for that scenario as the druid hit fatigue prepping for his togg turn. so he switches the decks, giving me a deck of 4 bloods, I overdraw the first one because of my 10 card hand, swap it back with ransom, and play another minion to continue board pressure. But, here's the kicker. On the druid's turn, he draws the 3 remaining bloods, doubles them to 6 and takes a chunk of fatigue, and then plays Flobbidinous Floop as a 3/4 Togwaggle. And I believe he naturalized my minion as well, since he saw i was intentionally holding 9 in my hand. So I drowned in blood on my turn, and lost. It was my first time ever facing a hakkar druid on ladder, and the dude had the gall to already anticipate rank 10 outplay scenarios, and tech in floop for such a scenario. Thanks for reading :)

I havent played since naxxramus and occasionally drop by, this is my first video this expansion and I STILL understand. Toast made it really simple to get.
I feel like this play only seemed amazing due to the confusion of the casters. What's more surprising than the good play, is the misplay of togwaggle at the end. he didn't even bother roping to compute how much damage over time would be done by fatigue to realize his opponent could not win -- play something, get togwaggled. Don't play anything, get fatigued before killing opponent. Also, I think definition could have saved the naturalize if he wasn't going ot togwaggle
Did Toast actually pick up this LF play while watching the stream or is he post-rationalising? The casters understood not long after the corrupted bloods were burned post Togwaggle. Either way, great explanation of the play. Wish there was more content like this from him. I miss his old mechanics and interactions vids.
Yeah.. Kripp did this a long time ago and made a video on how to counter the hakkar tog... bottom player followed that stretegy and he did it very well...

Euh and the second he plays that togwaggle the all scream "wait he filled up his hand OOOOOH" like counted you know that before he played it? it's not like they had to tak in account 10 cards he could play.
Exactly what I was thinking. Other than trying to burn the oppo down or interact with his deck/hand with combo breaker cards, wasn't keeping 9 cards the win condition against Hakkar?
16:23 Bio project (Counterspell) King tog Smash face /w tog (18->9) (No secret would trigger already tested) naturalise Hakkar (3 blood=9 + 2 fatigue=3) 18
My only counter argument is that perhaps naturalise triggers before hakkar deathrattle which which wouldn't be lethal and cost him the game (if the other player was smart enough). But I've never personally played corrupted tog druid so I couldn't tell you
Definition should have played naturalize and then toggwaggle the turn after LFyueying played Myra's, when he had 10 cards. This would mean that LFyueying would have a deck with either a corrupted blood and a gadgetzan or 2 corrupted bloods, so he wouldn't be able to play any cards besides the fireflies, lest he drop below 10 cards and start drawing bloods, and he wouldn't be able to switch the deck backs because the randsom card was burned. So Definition would have a 5/5 and LFyueying would have nothing and be unable to play anything substantial.
but togwaggle-naturalise burns both corrupted bloods, meaning the druid doesn't take any corrupted blood damage, so isn't Tog/Naturalise the right play?
I haven’t watched hearthstone competitive in a long time but that looks like such a basic play for any decent hearthstone player. The fact that the casters and so many people didn’t think about it almost at all feels completely different compared to competitive back then
I love how the casters are the ones that are *supposed* to know it all, to understand it and let the viewers know what is going on with their commentary, and yet they didn't understood shit lol.
The clever Way of doing this for the top player would still have been to burn the corrupted bloods bc then the rouge wouldn't be able to give them back to him so he saves 2-3 turns which would be around lethal for the druid
15:34 you couldve get your spellstone on this turn with biology project and upgrade it to 6 dmg with branching paths and cleared your hakkar to get lethal next turn, just sayin
5 on board + Leeroy + deckhand + dagger + 6 damage from the two bloods in the druid deck + 1 fatigue = 22, druid would have been dead next turn (although the druid didn't know this so I would say toasts play was the best, but he still would have lost).
If Tog is not coming down, the Chinese player will go for Leory and use minion to kill the 4/4 and he still win in 2 turns. Tog forced the vile creeper.
Couldn’t he have also togwaggle into naturalise to get rid of the bloods entirely? Then he would only take base fatigue damage, and have a minion on the board? Then throw down the auctioneer next round for another minion on the board
