Hi Ariana! I applied to hundreds of publishing jobs just to get my foot in the door. It also involved lots of networking and informational interviews. I didn't get a job editing right out of school--I worked in all different places and facets of publishing while I continued trying to breaking into children's editorial. Part of it is luck, but a bigger part of it is working hard to amplify the number of opportunities for that luck to come through. Hope that's helpful! xo
