- I want to show you the completed roof in the dugout. A lot of people ask if it leaks or not. I can answer unequivocally that it does not. No water gets inside the shelter. Enjoy watching friends!

When I was homeless, I lived in my car. On cold nights, the rain is pleasant. I don't know how many times I heard the sound of rain patting on the car. Didn't realize I would miss it. Now I listen in my bed, with my wife. Helps to sleep well, reminds me of the hard times, makes you value the good times. Lots of love to anyone who had to listen to this noise.

Building your own first cabin in the woods is no easy feat for one individual. It’s a lot of hard work, hard labor. Especially if no one else is around to help you do this. It’s time consuming. It’s back breaking. But, once it’s up. Your project has been completed. Then, you can relax and unwind. Thank you for sharing this journey with all of us here. We truly appreciate your endeavors. A good Chimney Spark Arrester will keep your stove from shooting too many fire ambers into the forest, plus it will also keep any critters from getting into your shelter.
There is a baffle inside the oven that stops sparks

Sometimes watching this makes me ask myself what happened and if I should get back to it. And I see you use a lot of Swedish equipment. Gränsfors axes, Mora knife and Primus kettle … do you get a lot of Swedish stuff in Ukraine? And the bug plagued spruce forest with lots of dead trees look a lot like the woods here in Sweden as well, it’s like being at home for me watching your videos.
I saw a comment on your axes being a bit small, and I agree with that. I just started to get a better understanding about axes myself, and I have watched Ben Scott’s channel a lot to learn more. I really recommend looking at his videos. I also made a few axe videos on my channel, if you want to watch them, although I mostly do woodworking videos. Been planning to go into bushcrafting for a while though, just need to find a good spot to start building a shelter.
Furthermore, I think your shelter would benefit from upgraded diagonal braces on the porch roof. As it is now, you only rely on nails to hold the braces in place. If you would cut out notches in the posts to fit the braces into, the construction would be stronger and last longer. Wood in wood is the way to go for a lot of things, and if you pick up some tricks along those lines your building skills will improve.
By the way, I like your little foldable shovel. A military type, I suppose. It gets very compact when you pack it down. What model is it?
Hello. You rightly noted that I often use Swedish axes, I really like them for their reliability and ergonomics, but these axes are quite expensive in our country. You are also right that I am just learning and trying everything that comes into my head. You can do something worthy, but not with the tree that I use. These are fallen trees, which often simply fall apart during processing.
