Do you know why InDesign always moves the Inset spacing in my object style around and I always have to get into the style and add and subtract to get it where I want it to stay?
Great content David as always. I was on the fence whether I would sign up to LinkedIn learning but watching this video has convinced me to sign up today.
Thanks for the tips. I have to say that I love, love indesign. However, it frustrates me so much! I have been using it for a long time. I have created all sorts of documents. Currently, I am doing advertising. These days advertising designers do as many digital ads as they do print ads, increasingly more. As you show in your video, there are great animation pre-sets that are easy to customize. However, all magazines require digital ads to be in a gif format. I don't understand why we cannot export to animated gif from indesign without having to buy a plug-in. I know that some will comment that indesign is not meant for animation. I don't want to create complex animations. I just want to export the easy pre-sets that are already in indesign. Thanks. Rant over.
The gent is clearly a guru. But honestly why do all Adobe pros have no idea about ‘design’. They obviously know the software, but at the expense of a design eye.
Adobe apps are great, but for non-professional users they are out of reach. Of course there are elements versions of Photoshop and Premiere, but no elements version of InDesign. :-(
There's no better teacher than David Blatner. I've used InDesign for almost 10 years, and only David can teach me something new.
Same here and it's great that finally this is a pro show about it. Otherwise it's all about photoshop illustrator etc.

Nigel French is better 😜
And before that, he was the QuarkXPress god!
Excellent, thanks for sharing.
I just have to say that I used most of your tips in this video to fix a document and you are truly an InDesign god!
Is there a way to get access to the PDF he was talking about? I'd like to have a look at his recommended scripts.
I’ve been making a lot of restaurant menus, can I separate items prices by character styles and the items by paragraph styles in the same row?
Also, all the publishers for my childhood math books would have loved this
so beautiful i would like where could i get indesign magazine

Anyone got the Photo Flinger ext to work?? Installed it and now my CC libraries have gone awry...
Wow! This guy can really teach! Learned a lot!. Thank you so much!
Great video, thanks! :)
hard to believe it's been 20 years already. i've been using it from the beginning because i absolutely hated Quark.
I worked with Pagemaker nd love it and then tried to use Quark but never warmed up to it either.Really never like it. I love InDesign.
Hated Quark from the start 1994 and keep that hate until InDesign1 :)
I started with pagemaker and I used to hate it. Indesign has shot through the roof.
Great amazing unbelievable fentastic
Wow. Nothing to say. Super.
Great video. I felt David's pain when he mentioned how people select whole paragraphs and then apply a character style to them.
Isn't that from the old days of Quark Express?

Great tips, tough crowd though! I thought the "it's difficult, you have to click twice" bit was funny.
Wow, im using Adobe pagmaker.
Tables. Tables are not fun. No joy.
agreed! i wish they were easier to manipulate and style.

I always cringe hard at the these instructional videos when they're designs look soooo bad. Like they're from the early 90s or something.
The subject matter is great. The oral presentation didn’t feel up to par with the content.
Well, the intro was, but I got quickly accustomed to his style despite its uniqueness.
Sorry, nothing new here for me. I was expecting PRO-LEVEL.
The paper media is dead. Mobile interaction is the future. ID sleeps until the software that subverts him appears.
Chees ill rather watch baby shark for 24 hours
Great video, thanks! :)
Wow. Nothing to say. Super.
