Its very sad what happens to many of them. If I could start my teaching career over I'd want to specialize in helping them.

It would almost be easier if you had the officers and lawyers on these shows saying "my god we made such a mistake", there was one case like that where nobody actually told the police the guy that had confessed after interrogation had an IQ in the low 50s, and they turned around as soon as they found out and admitted no way, that confession isnt legit. The worst though is the cops that cannot admit they're wrong. Like "well he confessed why would he do that unless it was true? makes no sense" after a comprehensive detailing of how the guy has the mental capacity of a toddler.
