MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎅 In this sequel to the first similar video from a few months ago, we explore even MORE coloring mistakes you should definitely avoid... or face jail time. Your choice.
Jail time 😬 oh no I better listen
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas
Merry xmas
Tip for newer artists: The better you are at shading, the better your colored stuff will get. And the better you understand shapes and stuff, the better your shading will be. It's all connected, so don't focus on just one aspect, thinking you only need to improve this one thing. They all pull each other up
I didn't know that, I will do this more.
Thank you for this 😊
Thanks for the tip!
That's sensible
Thanks man
Can we have a whole session on clothes? And one on concept art.
Please. Pretty please.

It's freaking amazing of how every single time I watch the youtube artschool, it's about a topic I've been struggling in my most recent drawing. Seriously, I can't thank you enough for all this videos, you are a life saver
What software do you use to draw?
@@kronikevaporation6007 Clip Studio Paint
@@cauecavalcante7124 oh thank you.
Would you have some advice for me?
I have used the free software, krita up until now but I want to move to a paid software now. What would be your suggestion between photoshop, procreate or clip studio paint? I used a samsung tab s7 to draw.
@@kronikevaporation6007 I used krita for a long time too, I still miss it's blend brushes xD I can't say much about wich one would be the best for you because I work on PC with a non screen tablet, so I don't know how they would perform on your tablet, so take my opinion with a grain of salt ok? For me, from Krita to CSP was a big jump because CSP have a lot more resources and a way better performance on my machine. For example, my last piece was a 9922 x 7024 pixels illustration and Krita wouldn't handle it well on my PC for sure, lagging if I'd use any brush with more than 100 in size. Also CSP have way more "undo" than Krita and a lot more resources from brushes to 3D models you can easy pose for reference, there is a lot by default and you can buy more too, last ones I bought were motorcycle ones, really cool stuff! As for photoshop I used very little cause I haven't adapted well to it. But another feature of CSP is that you can import any Photoshop brush into it, so I can use Marc's free brushes without any problem! :)
@@cauecavalcante7124 oh thank you so much for your elaborate reply. Even though it is pretty much all about CSP, I think it's been very helpful. I'll search for more information about the differences between the 3 and select. But thank you again.
Yessss more coloring classes!!! I love your videos so much teach! Very hype to start your art school in the new year! Gonna have fun with it. Also I love your art too!!
Finding this channel is a gift itself. My art has improved exponentially since following what I seen.
I have sort of a wonky way of drawing. Instead of going step-by-step, I go body-part-by-body-part. And I typically don't do lineart, instead opting to go directly to coloring without lines. I'll make a new layer, choose a skin color, draw and fill in the head, make a new layer, choose a hair color, draw and fill in the hair, etc.
There's no right way. Create a workflow that works for you.
@@asimian8500 Thanks for the encouragement.
if ur doing a lineless style this is pretty normal imo!! it reminds me a bit of heartmush but his style is a bit more all over the place (just assuming based on what u described)
Thanks for the fun tutorials. Keep Going, Marc👍
Your tutorials always come at the right time!
How to create conflict in a fanbase: Makima>>Power
Basically it boils down to maturity, not of the characters mind you, of the fan.
Rhetoric question:
Would you prefer a more stable, mature relationship or a chaotic and wild but fun one?
I believe this is what at a simple glance represents the people rooting for, in that order, Makima or Power.
How dare you...i take it personal
Observe:
*BANG!*
Perfect timing as always. I was just puzzled how do I colour my next piece that is a bit more complicated. It will be much easier with guidelines from you
Thank you Santa Marc, love the class💜🙏
Happy Holidays Marc, this was a great tutorial on coloring. Being new to digital art, the most intimidating part is coloring. I’ve watched many tutorials that are complicated recipes. But your method of coloring puts my mind at ease!
Thx and Merry Christmas!!
Loved the video and the vibe, keep going Marc, god bless you
Ty Sensej.Happy & Lucky New Year 🥳🎉🎉🥳
Merry Christmas to Marc and to everybody! I've been struggling on picking color scheme and coloring again. and Marc here again saving me from that ❤️ thank you !!
Your tutorials never fail to have great timing on my current art struggles
Marry Christmas, Mark, much luv☃️
Thanks for the art class! and Happy Holidays!!
Thank you for always doing these videos just to teach us about art. You rock!
Here's a weird one I just figured out the hard way last week:
If you're drawing digitally, make sure your screen is set to a reasonable brightness. Otherwise, everything might look just a bit wrong.
I have sensitive eyes, so I tend to set the brightness very low. The end result is that I made a lot of things way too pale and saturated to compensate. And then when I move it to a different space, it burns my eyes. Using a more moderate brightness helps a lot
smething like this happened to me with a presentation! holy cow, when i noticed the change in colors i couldn't change it, but instead of it looking bad it looked interestingly good
Happy 💥 Holidays Art Santa 💥
This was a great reminder for those lazy days. Or when I'm so busy with how well the art is going that I've completely forgotten the important steps. Thanks for another great class Marc.
Merry Christmas Marc
Thank you so much, in my country art supplies and lessons are way to much and they are not even enough for me. You really helped me improve myself :)
thank you Jonny Sinn ! I love your videos, you are multi talented! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!!! 🎅🎄
Great vid!!👍
This video appeared on my feed at an excellent time! I am working on a more complicated piece right now, and it's been difficult. I hope to use this video to help simplify things!
Thanks for the lesson marc sensei, happy Christmas
Merry Christmas Marc!!!!🥳
Merry Christmas sensei!!
Just as I was about to render...nice timing Marc 😁💜💜💜
Merry Christmas to yall, class is back in session.

Happy holidays and thank you so much teacher. 💕
Thank so much for your tips :) Happy Holiday ^^
Merry Christmas bud, amazing tips as usual!
I'm self taught and have been doing this for 4 years, and I can say without hesitation, Marc, you are by far my favourite art teacher on the internet. Thank you so much for doing what you do. Your work is invaluable.
Thank you very much Marc, your channel is one of the most useful i ever seen. All the info and advices based in your experience are amazing and help a lot to learn better, and videos are very well explained, adding even nice humour touch. Many of the things you say i would have needed decades and thousand mistakes to understand them or find them by myself just practicing. Thank you for your channel and sharing all this, you are improving a lot the art community, thanks friend.
God damn marc this vod was so informative im totally blown! thanks a loooot bro
Ily Mark, Merry Christmas
Happy Holidays 🎉🎉🎉 thank you
Merry Christmas my lad🎅🎄
Good vid as usual and have a great merry Christmas and a happy new year too 🎊
This video actually help a lot, Thanks Marc!!! 🥺
The tip about the grey background was news to me, thank you! Merry Christmas Marc! 🖤
Merry Christmas marc
*Perfect timing, as always*
Merry Christmas 🎅
It definitely helped. Thanks!
really like the demonstration of using atmospheric perspective, and using the different layers of fog to create depth in a scene
Marc it's been a while since u did a full on "finished" painting with complete background and cool characters....would really love to see one of them for your upcoming video....kind of like the one u used to do in your world building series
I cant appreciate how your videos usefull and great. Thank you so much that sharing your wisdom 💓💓💓
Amazing drawing and tutorial! Loved all the puns 😭🙏
Ty marc and have a great Christmas! Dont party too hard.
Merry Christmas Marc your classes have been very helpful to me in 2022.and I will keep watching your videos in 2023. Merry Christmas!!!
The process is just what I needed!! I always get lost somewhere in the process
These past 10 minutes were more useful than the past 2 years of my art classes in school... Seriously so far I've been coloring so inefficently that if someone even rometely related to art were to see what I'm doing they would either slap me in the face right then and there, run away in fear of my entire being or just start crying on the spot feeling empathy of my stupidness. Gradient maps will require a little bit more looking into and I've already attended your classes of simple background drawing where the matter of background colors was explained but I had so much struggle actually making my art pop lately I'm in pain just recalling it. Especially light and reflection. The thing about light is that I might have been a little too afraid to go for a brighter colors which ended up making them look quite flat so I'll definitely have to improve that. As for reflection I haven't really touched the are too much as of now but better later than never I guess.
All in all it seems I'll have to entirely rebuild my coloring process however the foundation's been laid so it's time to get to work...
Merry Christmas and thanks for the lesson.
Thanks for the amazing Christmas present! Just what I asked for!
Merry Christmas Marc.
Wow, very good video. Thank you!
Dude! These tips are all useful but the highlight for me is the levels graph to help determine contrast quicky. I never payed attention to what it should look like. I’ll make sure to check this when adjusting my contrast and to check some of my pieces that I have.
Merry Christmas oh canadian Santa!
in general, the editing on your videos is mad hilarious, the random explosions and intros haha
Shading first then flats....... I have to try that method! Thanks a bunch and Merry Christmas!
another good video ty marc
thanks marc brunet. i was making a lot of colring mistakes. because of you im good and i can almost surpass bro. thanks now im in love with shape of you. thanks amor

Very useful video! I definitely fall under the too much layer category😁
Happy New Year, friend!☺👍
Sí mi clase de hoy! Muchas gracias por seguir compartiendo tu conocimiento.
ANOTHER COLORING CLASS YASSSSSSSS
Merry (late) Xmas! And I wish you a nice new year
Thank you Marc
You're a psychic. I was struggling with this today and then suddenly while I despondently distract myself with some UA-cam, you upload this. I love you ❤
This was exactly what i needed
you're the best art teacher ever. merry christmas.
Thanks marc!
I didn't have a digital drawing device... I draw in papers... Still i wanna learn digital drawing... Your video helped a lot. Thanks. ❤
Santa Marc, THANKS for the Holiday knowledge!
Merry Christmas. ✌🏻
Hi Marc, Merry Christmas! Now that’s out of the way. 😊 When you were using gradient maps did have the layers set to overlay or the opacity turned down. I wasn’t able to tell from the video. Watching on smaller screen while traveling.
Merry Christmas 🎅🎅🎅🤶
HI Marc. Thanks so much for these tips. Real quick though....That shading layer....What colour did you use? Black, then tints?
He uses dark gray color with a slight tint of yellow for shading then tints it, he said that on one of his shading videos I believe.
Merry Christmas too 🎅
Me :thinking about what I could do to improve my coloring after getting better at the fundamentals
Mb: I'm ten steps ahead of you at any given moment.
Merry Christmas to you too Marc. Thank you for the gift of learning ♡. I am betting (because of the accent) you are in Québec, but in case you live near me, in Toronto, I want to wish you a safe and warm Christmas too, and I hope you didn't get hit too badly, if at all, by the blizzard! We got lucky and so far no crazy snow, but I know our loved ones out and around us got snowed in pretty good.
That level thing was totally new to me gotta start using it perhaps. I usually check values with a gray layer which blending mode is set to color. Probably pretty much the same thing I guess but levels could come in handy too. I tried to use gradient maps but it’s just too weird to me lol. I’ll give it another try some day

Those who are actually decent at art: *Learning and applying the tips given*
Me, an amateur artist who's already lost at the beginning of the video: *W O M E N*
the shading part that will look realistic or 3d is the challenging step in my process .. still learning
Merry Christmas
merry christmas!
Marc can you please make a video on how to color skin when the character in a dark place? I struggle to draw characters in night settings 😢
Colouring classes is definitely something i need rn
awesome thank you
Power!
Really cool the material bit. Any tip of a book or source where I can learn more about it?
Please can you make a tutorial on how to draw the eye in different angles. Thank you.
