Brilliant video as always mate, thank you. I’m so sorry you’re having such a crappy time of it!! I’m positive your luck will turn soon mate 🤞🙏 All the best to you & all the family 🙏
For brakes, always worth taking off the brake carrier, so you can file the edges where the pads sit and wire brush on a drill attachment. Half of brake problems are seized pads in the carrier (tell tale is one pad wears prematurely), seized sliders or sticky pistons.
When my 1 series 118d needed rear shocks, I did a bit of sleuthing on ebay and Facebook market place managed to get a pair of TRW msport, which turned out to be made in the same place Sachs, they looked identical as well except the sticker. Paid a fraction of the price they are from euro car parts etc, working out part numbers that were superseded then search that, people are alway selling single shocks as they buy a pair then don't bother fitting both.
I wouldn’t use ratchet spanners for trying to undo really tight fittings, likely to damage the pawls inside the spanner and it will a right pain to use then.
False economy not changing the wear sensor, I thought I could get away with it on my 1 series but after putting it all back together had the warning light for low pads, turned out even though it looked in perfect order it must of had an internal break in the wire. I had to take it \ll apart again to fit a new one anyway, so for the sake of a tenner I'm going to a;ways change them as a matter of course.
If you connect the 2 wires together it turns the light off I done to pass the mot then after got a new one installed as it never arrived in time for the mot not paying for mot if I know its going to fail and my mot station soo busy I would of wait 2 weeks for another mot
Hi my friend I watched your video on the freelander and all your other videos I'm thinking of having a go at changing the Cam belt how hard do you rate it I'm pretty hands on but a bit scared any advice appreciated appreciated regards Paul
Wouldn't touch any of these expensive German cars Audi, VW, Mercs, BMWs, all expensive over complicated junk. My 2005 Ford Fusion bought nearly new, easy to work on, super cheap parts, starts 1st time every time, zero rusting, never let me down, on same shocks, 1st battery and rear exhaust box lasted over 13 years, new cambelt 8 years ago, no other costs apart from annual servicing done by myself.

Aww bless you that was a pain in the a!#e! Great patience, all will be well.
Well done with the struggle,.😮
Them rear discs didn't look that good with the lip it had on it
Shouldnt use copper greese on your sliders mate. Use moly greese or something similar 👍
Indeed, either ceramic brake grease or red grease near rubber.
Looking good. Where do you lift at the rear. Is it under the diff?
Why was the second MOT not a retest it’s a maximum of half the price if you repair it and go back within 10 days
