Rigo, if you look at these comments please know you are NOT Evil!!! The things that happened were. You Survived which is what most people choose. Stab or be stabbed. You saved your Mom from a gang rape that likely would have killed her. You helped your two children earn a college degree. You had 10 years sober which is incredible. Try again. Try again. For the grandchildren to come. For the small daily joys of family and love and connection. Your father was a product of his times. When we know better we do better. You CAN make a good future! Wishing you every success and happiness. Thousands of us are sending you good energy and prayers.

My first time crying while watching an interview on this channel. I don’t usually leave a comment but this man has a beautiful soul, and I can feel that he truly wants to get better. I hope he finds a way somehow to stop using drugs but I see why it’s so hard for him to do so. Like it was said in the video he did not deserve any of the abuse and hardship he went through. The last minutes of the video broke my heart, I sincerely hope that he will finds peace and happiness. Parents should always be there for their children, I see so many people broken because they were never protected, cared for or loved at an early age. It’s not their fault that they end up this way. I believe Rigo is very intelligent and understands the reality of this world more than a lot of us and it is amazing how he still manage to have kind heart after everything he went through.

He hit it on the nail. Growing up with no father, having gangs convince you what a man has to be, enter drugs to that equation and we wonder why we have slums and broken people who don’t feel any humanity.
I remember saying “Who does that to another human being?”. Got my answer through Rigo. Praying for you.

At the end when he says “I didn’t know how to fight”. Damn man. I’ve been close to a lot of people who were abused as a child and I’ve heard things like that said a lot. For many of us who went through this kind of thing as a child we often end up being quick to fight, very defensive, and when we do fight we go overboard. For many it can also make us extremely driven/obsessed with lifting weights or boxing/martial arts and getting stronger. Our minds trick us into thinking that if we would’ve been stronger and/or able to fight that what happened to us wouldn’t have happened which falls into the category of “it was my fault”. Abusers that get caught usually get less time than someone caught selling weed, but for the victim we’re sentenced to life. A life of mental and emotional issues and pain

A lot of those kids who need it aren't in church or school that often. We need more safe, community hang out places, with the right adults, for kids to go. There are a few, like The Door in lower Manhattan. Build them into our infrastructure, as part of local environment, not school, though. Any money spent for it would be returned many times over.

I’ve always thought it was rather strange that as humans, whatever traumas we deal with as kids, end up manifesting themselves in so many unhealthy ways as an adult if not addressed properly. Instead of trying to make sure we end that cycle, it seems like we just can’t help ourselves, and go from prey to predator, so to speak. The saying “hurt-people hurt people” is so true.
