Which is precisely why the Russian government had nothing to do with his demise. It will never cease to amaze me how mainstream media and others will conjure up a tale, with no shred of proof or evidence, for the purposes of supporting their narrative. That notwithstanding, it needs to be pointed out that at the peak of his "fame," Alexei Navalny had less than 2% support on a national scale. He was simply not the "dangerous" opposition leader that the west makes him out to be.

I'm Polish and I feel the same. I grew up in the 80s and during the last years of the soviet rule. I was a child so I didn't understand much, but I loved Russian music and art. There's so much potential in that country and that culture. So much diversity, countless beautiful places. Russia under the rule of law could have been a powerful country by now, thriving, visited and admired by many. Pootin is a thief and a murderer. He stole from his own people, he's been killing his own people, they need to get rid of him, not for anyone else, but for themselves.

Thank you so much. Alexei was like a relative to all the people he inspired. It's like we all lost a close family member and we are inconsolable about the unjust premature end of his life... His last years in prison were horrible, he couldn't see his family, he was constantly kept in extremely cold cell for one, deprived of normal quantity even of jail food and any medical care, after the poisoning it was much needed. His love and respect for Russian people was too strong, his sacrifice was in vain. The people didn't save him. The world didn't deserve this man.

It is always a tragedy when someone dies and Alexei Navalny's death, particularly at such a young age is no exception. May God rest his soul. But an underlying tragedy associated with this is how the mainstream media and others are portraying his life and exploiting his death. There were approximately 20,000 people who came to give their last respects to someone with whom they resonated, they had every right to do so and there were no arrests made (as western media claimed would happen) or violence in Moscow. However, one must take into account that out of a city of 13,000,000, this corresponds to only 1.5% of the population in Russia's most "liberal" metropolis. That is roughly the same level of support Navalny had at the very pinnacle of his political career. The simple fact is, no matter how hard the media tries to spin this, Alexei Navalny was never a formidable presence or factor to be contended with in Russia. Up until the time of his death, most Russians had never even heard of him.

Столько полиции на похоронах! Стерегут, как бы мертвец не воскрес и митинг не организовал?

Better safe than sorry 😉 I'm also sure they all got a nice photo of everyone there stored somewhere in secret police archives.

His poor wife and family weren't even able to attend.
I hope with all my heart to see a free Russia, but sadly, I don't think it'll happen in my lifetime 😔
These mourners were EXTREMELY brave to come out, and especially to show that they want putin gone, and the war to stop. Some poor souls WERE arrested though.

@@AdrienneReneau-ky4sc yes, his mother and father were there. Incredibly brave people, considering that putin was threatening her so much, and didn't want a public funeral.

I wonder how many of those policemen actually wanted to be with the crowd and pay respects to Navalny, I imagine quite a number of them, or at least more than Putin would expect.

i notice majority of this brave people seem very intelligent ordinary citizens not people who adore criminals these people hopefully will be the foundation of a better Russia and they deserve to one day live free and prosper somehow i get the feeling each one of them are like Navalny himself. I wish them all the best . ❤

Putin has to know that a core of people turning out represents a much larger number who want him gone. Time for Putin to retire to his Siberian cabin 👍🙂

The Russian people are getting fed up with Putin’s actions. Their young people are dying for NOTHING.
