I was able to extend my Bounty past 24 inches, to basically as high as you want, using a simple USB extension cable. Then it's just a matter of getting some PVC pipe to extend the pole, or otherwise prop up the extended grow light however you want.
I ordered the quick snack Cucumber variety and will try them soon. I'm doing something a lil crazy and trying a butterbush squash in my bounty. It's already sprouted and well let you know how it goes. I also planted ten tiny hedou bok choy seeds from Baker creek. 8 have sprouted and growing very well.

great idea- this may have been easier them removing mine and putting in kratky systems ( still not sure if they are going to survive yet)
I'm also trying to grow certain types of flowers in the sprout, to do arts and crafts with my family.
