Yea I had one growing up and me and my bro definitely thrashed her real good and she always kept goin, had to replace piston rings cause it started the smoking and had to adjust valves, and new bearings and bushings in the rear, if a little circle metal cap pops out of the rear axle shaft and keeps popin out when u try to tap it back in.. means the bearings are gone. It’s a wear indicator for bearings. But like I said me and my bro put her thru hell and back multiple times before it needed that work. It was a 2001 recon and i didn’t do the work till 2018. Almost 18 years strong before she needed repairs. I moved out to florida and had to sell her but man I would love to buy it back if I could ever find it. I TRULY BELIEVE IN HONDA! They have proven themselves more than once to me.. will forever be my choice of powersport vehicles 👌🏼💯
My buddy had a recon frowning up. He put that thing through hell and back. Think he got it when he was about 14-15. One way or another I ended up with it for my nephews to ride they have out grown it as well but it will still start up and get you where you want to go. Smokes like a freight train haha
Thats awesome! Great ATV's! And yes, unfortunately the rings will burn out on these if Oil isn't changed frequently since it doesn't have an oil filter! Otherwise Definitely a reliable ATV!
I had a Honda Recon when I was a teenager. I rode the hell out of it. I could ride wheelies on it and change gears.. I'd jump it, spin donuts.. I loved that 4 wheeler. Mine was red. Then one day I left it outside. I woke up for school and I noticed it was gone.. It had gotten stolen. I was heartbroken. All my friends had 4 wheelers and dirtbikes and mine was gone.. Then one day like 4 months later, my parents told me they bought me a new 4 wheeler.. They didn't tell me which one it was.. We was outside waiting for it to be delivered, and I seen the truck pull up and it was a brand new Honda 400EX.. I was so happy I was like Oh Shit.. I had the baddest and the fastest 4 wheeler of anyone I knew or ever met on the trail except the Banshee 350.. This was way back in the day around the time the 400EX came out
I have 3 of these 1 of mine has been put through the worst you could flipped 50+ times. Sunk it a few times jumped it 7+ feet in the air DONT RECOMMEND JUMPING THAT HIGH. It will hurt on the landing. But it won't hurt the atv just u😂😂. My was my dad's when he was 15 he rode it very very hard it kept up with all the bigger 1s he would smoke them in the woods because the shape turning radeos and smaller. Btw this 1 is a es electric shift but it's not 2 bad have to work on the es part about every 5/2 years and that's probably because I mud ride a lot. But mine now being to smoke but I'm going going to complain because most would have blown up bye this point I've had it at the Rev limiter for attest 40m straight no problem but it probably not the wizist. But it takes it it's as powerful as it was brand new but it always runs and always gits me 2 point a and b I hardly ever git stuck even when pulling attest 1k lbs through mud I mean it didn't like it😂. I was very surprised it would pull 2500 lbs up hill 2nd in very hi rpms tho but hell it did it. That way over what it's made 4. I honestly think these are the most reliable atvs out there no there not the powerful no there not the best at mud but they are 1 of the best 4 going tro woods and dirt bike trails and I'd say best for reliability. I can flip it roll it back on it's wheels and it starts right up no bends or anything... well when my dad hade it he try to go up a very very steep long hill got to the top it flipped backwards and rolled attest 50+s he said and he hade to replace the racks but that was it he unbint the Handel bars. Most 4 wheelers that would have destroyed them lol. U can see it in a few of my videos and my profile picture and if you ever have a problem with yours hit me up I'm very familiar with these atvs a have 3 well kinda me and my brothers share 2 and 1 I bought 4 120$ with a low hour but very ruff on the outside just plastic work and tires and I was good to go.

Yo anyway to contact you?
Fuck that was hard to read. Auto correct is you're friend!
they are pretty fucking good, mines probably needed rings for thousands of km's, keeps on going no matter the abuse
Thanks for the info. Here in PA as well. Looking to get one of these for my son.
Totally correct. Bullet proof.
I have a 2004 Honda crf150f dirt bike a guy wants to trade me one just like this
Sooo
What happened?
It's not a 250 it's a 229 I found that out
Yeah well all manufacturers exaggerates the cc size in the name on their atvs in some fashion. Thats nothing new.
You must be new here.
