Thanks for visiting the Freshcutky organic gardening channel. In the garden, I will answer some of the most common "gardening for beginners" type questions I get, including growing flowers from seed. Growing greens, growing flowers, and planting beautiful organic food is something I'm really passionate about. Thank you for joining me as I learn to grow flowers, cut flowers, vegetables, and much more. Freshcutky youtube channel and related media are for entertainment purposes only.
Many ornamental flowers and cut flowers are TOXIC. ALWAYS do your own research and take responsibility for the plants that you introduce around your kids, pets, and everyone else. Use common sense when handling plant materials: wear gloves, always wash hands, avoid contact with face, etc. NEVER consume any plant which has not been positively identified with complete certainty to be safe and edible. Before planting anything, research to determine whether specific flowers are considered invasive where you live or if there are laws that apply to their planting in your area.

What is "@freshcutky"?
@freshcutky documents the pursuit of my goal of one day owning my own cut flower farm. Along the way, you'll see random projects, cooking, and of course - growing stuff. I'm not an expert, and would never claim to be. There's always more to learn - this is my journey. The purpose of my blog, and other social media accounts (including UA-cam) is to share ideas. I do my best to offer information that is useful, but reliance on that information is strictly at your own risk and NOT a substitute for professional advice of any kind. I am starting pansies with my kids as a homeschool lesson, we followed your instructions and they have all sprouted. Every single one! Thank you so much as usual
I think you're going to start a pansy trend with those gorgeous colors!!
I hope so! :)
Loving that when I search youtube....
Tanya Pansies... And here you are! ❤🍀🎈
Your pansies really have been BEAUTIFUL this year!!!
I normally don't pay much attention to pansies, but for SOME REASON your displays have very much caught my attention this time!! ❤
Hello I live in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and this year (2023) my pansies started to bloom on January tenth. I was amazed at how cold tolerate they are! Great video..💚🌿💯
WOW!! Those mulberry pansies are gorgeous!
Mornin! 👋
I have the Mulberry babies germinating now - due to your intro! Thankyou for all you do from North Idaho zone 6a 💚🌻🌿
Wonderful! I hope that you like them! :) :)
hello from Switzerland, I planted pansies for the first time last oct. and they came out beautifully this March, I didn'teven pay attention to them the whole winter, but still, came out just fine. thanks to all your videos
That's wonderful! Thanks so much for watching! :)
Love it!!! Keep them coming... Maybe mix some biennials... Thanks again I enjoyed it... Stay safe...
I may try throwing some of these out along the edge of the flower bed in the fall. Just to see what happens.. I'm thinking of going for more of a cottage garden style in that bed.
I'm now thinking of doing this same thing next Fall.
I never would have even thought about pansies before.
But these have looked SO GOOD for soooo long, they've now got my attention!!
That sounds beautiful! :)
They are gorgeous!! I must find some. Last fall I planted some neglected leftover pansies that was leftover from my daughter’s boyfriend’s job. I was surprised to find out that not only did they overwinter some of them kept their blooms through winter here I Delaware 🙌🏻
love this
Very pretty flowers!
Beautiful, and not your average pansies! This makes me want to try some next year.
Thanks for another 'how to' video! After watching one of your earlier videos this season and seeing these beautiful pansies, I ordered some seeds. I'm looking forward to growing them for next season using the winter sow method :)
I’m definitely going to up my fall sowing of pansies. They haven’t been a flower I’ve grown a lot of but I had a bunch of volunteer pansies and violas.
I love your content!!! ❤ ❤
Thank you so much for all the information. I’ll have to grow every pansy you showed because I loved them all.
I'm very excited! I didn't have any sweet peas this year.
I have always enjoyed pansies and violas especially the wild ones! You have such beautiful blooms and so tall! I tried to buy the seeds after your last video showcases them. Sold out wherever I was looking. Maybe next season 😁
I hope that I'm able to find them again. Did you try GeoSeed? I still have to make my seed orders for fall. Thanks so much for watching! :)
I grew pansies and violas last fall after watching your video and they were so much fun. I’ll definitely be doing so again. 7b for me
That's awesome! Thanks so much for watching! :)
I'm in 7b also. When did you start the seeds and how long before transplanting? Interested in trying to grow them for the fall!
@@JaimeBGilliam1 last year i started them inside in late September. They dont like the heat though so it was tricky hardening off when the heat lasts awhile.
Wow, thank you! Great information and lovely videography/photography as usual. I love the winter sowing method but have not tried with pansies. Maybe next year. I'm a Kentucky gal too but way north. :-)
Thanks so much for watching! :)
Beautiful flowers! Question though, how did you get blooms in February? Did you direct sow or transplant outside and when? I’d like to try this as I’m in zone 6 as well (chicago).
Beautiful colors. Where do you find your seeds?
So it's about 15 days now since I planted some pansy seeds & have kept the pots indoors. Now, little sprouts have started to come out. Should I put them out in the sun for a few hours, or is it still too early for that? BTW, I'm in the SF Bay Area. Thank you.
I bought the Chianti pansies for my dad for the holidays (he looooves growing pansies) but he said they didn't even germinate. I wonder if it was an off year for Floret with those :/
Hello. I would love to grow some pansies from seed. What size pot would good for them to grow in? Thank you in advance. 😊
The snapdragons I direct seeded on my garden, fall seeding for spring flowering, are starting to bud up. Is that weird? I live in the south hemisphere, winter starts at the end of June.
I’ll try pansies also!
I've had that happen before. It turned out that I had sowed the seeds too early in the summer, so they bloomed in the fall instead of overwintering. Now, I wait to plant the seeds until about a month before the first frost. Of course, the timing will be very different depending upon that date. Good luck! :)
