Yes they did. And its what they wanted to have happen. It is not, however, the fault of the monkeys. Their natural curiosity will lead them eventually to self exploration (although Max is too young) and to explore others. Every monkey, with a baby monkey around, will pick up the baby by his tail, check its butt, sniff its butt, explore other bits in the region and then loose interest, as ChiChi did here. You will also see monkeys, show submission to a higher ranking monkey by raising their butt to them or covering their privates with their hand. Its perfectly normal primate behavior. What these people wanted to do is film it, which makes it sexual exploitation. And, since it looks like someone has been playing quite a bit with Max's penis, they are likely trying to draw his attention to his parts hoping he will arouse himself on camera and possibly even self soothe by sucking himself on camera. ChiChi was probably, at least in part, attracted to Max's privates because it is so red and inflamed. I believe that is their ultimate goal here. Monkey porn is a big draw on UA-cam. ChiChi is also exhibiting the behavior of a monkey that has been kept isolated in a cage for an extended period of time. And he has a black eye.
