Yeah for real, I’m seeing this trend with all BMW reviews. Watch any reviews for any Hyundai/Kia and you’ll see overly positive comments which never mention the shit dealership and service experience of a Hyundai/Kia. 🤷
Random thought on the lack of controls: I have an M240 with no physical controls and I was pretty sure I wouldn't like that. After owning it for some months, it's a complete non-issue. BMW's auto climate is extremely good. I set it on 71 once, and haven't touched it since. Otherwise, the car boots into Android Auto wirelessly seconds after it's on, with no button presses, starts playing my music, and all is good to go. I used to be a "give me physical buttons' person 100% but after living with this system, it's a complete non-issue and I greatly prefer it. Toph is right that the first time you set it up, it's a bit of a thing for 10 minutes, but then every single day after, imo, it's infinitely better.
@@spoiler9112 Right, but that's my point: I now see all those buttons as a waste. I don't want buttons for something I never need to adjust. A lot of people hating on the interior- probably because of the screen. Just don’t agree tbh. I think it’s a solid setup, but obviously not going to be everyone’s taste.
As a German myself, I can say that BMW is cooked as well as all our other producers. The amount of cost-cutting measurements in here is simply crazy. The interior looks cheaper than most 30k cars and the outside is as hidious as most of the other new BMWs. Considering the crazy stupid price they are asking for this, I'm wondering where all the money these manufacturers are stealing out of our pockets is going to. Look how uncomfortable and unnatural it is to fiddle with settings as you're driving. Whether you eventually get used to it, it's annoying to have to dig though deep menus just to turn on adaptive CC.
They should’ve put the 3.0T i6 (like the engine this car has) in the X1 M35i instead of the 2.0T i4, because without the IconicSounds on, the i4 sounds kind of bad I do like the bigger screen and iDrive controller in this car, and I wish BMW would put it in the X1 because you can only use the touchscreen
You said the main takeaway of the new X3 is “smooth”. Owning the current G01 and having test driven the new model several times, I would agree. And that’s EXACTLY what was missing from the prior X3. The G01 is a mess with inputs…the ride is harsh, the seats are too firm, and every input is “jerky” for lack of a better term. The car is impossible to accelerate or decelerate/brake smoothly. It ruins the whole experience for my wife and me, which is exactly why we’re looking to trade in for this 2025 X3 M50. I realize aesthetics are subjective, but we much prefer the simper, more modern exterior, and though the interior is arguably controversial in execution, we’ll put up with a hard plastic bit here and there for a much more refined driving experience overall.
