Great video, Jules. I really appreciated your comments on the enhanced focus peaking of the Z8 when compared to the Z7. Your observations are encouraging me to consider the Z8 as my vintage lens camera as well as my general use camera. I was going to keep my Z7ii for use with vintage lenses but you have me thinking otherwise now. BTW, I'm really enjoying your whole series on the Z8!
Interesting vidéo. I got this lens too (as a collection of FL lenses but I must admit I didn t use it a lot. Your video will make me do some tests with it. I find the colors and the bokeh very interesting full opened.
nice test! it looks similair to my old nikkor 55mm 1.2. i think this canon lens has better colors and bokeh but the nikkor might be a hair sharper wide open middle for portraits. its a fun focal length as an alt for a fast fifty. i know you own the 58/1.4 nikkor that one might be even better! for portraits etc
Curious if the superior focus peaking is something that might trickle down via firmware updates or is it the viewfinder is just that much better? I have a little Fuji that has a virtual manual focus screen but I never really liked it. I wish Nikon could create a virtual split focus prism like I have in my old Nikon film camera.

Nice Video, thanks for share
Thank you for watching. I decided to sell that lens. It will be listed on EBay tonight.
Great video! Have you tried out the 58mm f1.2 from the FL line? It’s got a bit of a different look than the 55mm
I have not.
