    I like your video I have seen many of your videos I am recently retired and have about 42 years experience In the hvac Industry. I mostly Like that they are true and Accurate. Contractors make about 70% of their annual income doing maintenance. When it is necessary and serves a purpose and benefits the customers then it is good. It will also save them utility money. But after a lifetime of doing this Most of the maintenance that I did was unnecessary and served no purpose And so now we have all these videos online about HVAC scams. We should make sure that all these apprentices who make these comments online realize that that's what most of our job is.1 big scam. Most of the techs I worked with never even learned how to do their job by the time they retired. But no criticism of you everything you said is true And I thank you for the video.

    We used to have an HVAC guy that was amazing. When he came out for the yearly cleaning he would also apply a coat of car wax on the outside of the condenser unit. Our unit was 6 years old and after he moved away we called another company to do our maintenance and they were amazed how new our system still looked. We told him that our previous contractor actually waxed the outside unit and they tried to say doing so would hurt the condenser! Lol! Needless to say we didnt keep that guy and found another company.

  • @Anthony-nr1nd
    @Anthony-nr1nd Місяць тому

    So I have been told multiple ways to clean a coil and I don’t know who to trust or believe, I was told hook my gauges take a reading of the head pressure before and after you clean the coil to see if you need to add refrigerant but to me that doesn’t make sense because the system shouldn’t be low on refrigerant if that’s the case then there is a leak and then that’s a whole different approach of the job, I then was also told that you don’t have to hook them up when your doing a “pm” because if the system was cooling before then it should continue to work just fine if it’s a TXV system or a fixed orifice because that’s the metering device if I use my gauges I run the risk of creating a micro leak on the service valves that can cause a problem in the future only hook up the gauges if you suspect that the system is not working properly take a temp reading and get your delta T across the coil. So I have done both methods and honestly I don’t use my gauges at all when I do pms and the systems have been fine for years no call backs. I did however change up my cleaning layout, I use all viper products, I invested in a small pump foam cannon, the foam gun as well, and an electric pump sprayer for cleaning ductless units. An average cleaning depending on how bad the system is usually takes me about 2 hours. If the system is really bad then it’s a full 6-8 if I have to break everything down. I always be sure to look at the job first then plan accordingly. What’s your thoughts about it? Thanks!

    Instead of using the aerosol spray for outdoor condensors, i reccomend using nu calgons Alkabrite + and a foaming attatchment for your garden hose. It foams up in all the fins, eats away all the dirt and grime and pushes it out, and you can rinse easily with a hose. Then i prefer using Nu Calgon no rinse Evap foan coil cleaner that self rinses with the condensate, obviously brush any heavy buildup off before hand.
