If you really want another amazing song from them, "Arriving Somewhere But Not Here"
This. It's their best IMO, and gets sufficiently heavy for this metal head.
That; trains, russia on ice, and normal are masterpieces
Yes. This 1000000%
Anesthetize!!!!
The opposite of this song. Arriving is just a smooth ride into tomorrow.
Should definitely the song “Arriving Somewhere But Not Here” Live from the same concert. It’s a live DVD you won’t be disappointed !!!
I saw porcupine tree at Wembley arena in London last month for the first time, they certainly didn't dissapoint.
More Porcupine Tree!!! Almost everything they do is amazing. Try one of these next:
STRIP THE SOUL
FEAR OF A BLANK PLANET
SHALLOW
ARRIVING SOMEWHERE BUT NOT HERE
DIGNITY
Anesthetize
@@scrinbot Anesthetize LIVE, they did the album version already. ;)
+ Open Car
Hi guys, talking about the baby cymbals (called splash cymbals) that you've never seen on a drum set before, Gavin Harrison is not the only one using them actually.
Andy Rathbone, the drummer of a british rock band that doesn't exist anymore, Mansun, who relased a prog rock album called "Six" back in 1998, used to have splash cymbals on his drum set too.
I loved your reaction 😊
Put Pink Floyd, Tool, the Beatles and Radiohead in a blender…you get Porcupine Tree. As deep of a rabbit hole as Tool…Gavin Harrison is just as good or better than Danny Carey…
You guys should listen to Shallow. It’s one of their simplest songs but it’s a banger. First sing I ever heard from PT and got me hooked.
This Music is Amazing. The modern day Mothers of Invention.
That Drummer is OFF the CHAIN. Obviously classically trained.
Wow! Thanks for turning me on to This!
Need more Porcupine Tree.
Great reaction to a superb band. For another mesmerizing Porcupine Tree performance, check out “Arriving Somewhere But Not Here” (Live).
Love me some Gavin Harris on drums. His dynamics are top level
Morning fellas! Never heard of these guys! It WAS funky...loved it! (By the name of the song I expected thrash/metal. Lol) Great choice guys!🤓❤️
You guys have to check out cheating the polygraph, live version of course - epic Velvet 😊
Yeeeee
Karnivool is another band that is similar to the genre of Tool IMO.
Monochrome by Babymetal.
You guys have a good thing going and I love the rock and metal reactions. As someone who listens to a lot of the stuff you react to and who likes rap, but is exceptionally picky within the genre, I think you guys need to check out Aesop Rock. He’s an underground legendary rapper and producer who, in my opinion, is very rock and roll. The song that introduced me to him was “Shrunk” off “The Impossible Kid, which was the very first album he handled entirely on his own. It’s three parts about a visit to his shrink. Filling out paperwork, waiting to be seen, and the visit itself. It’s brilliant.
Ace Rock is one of the best rappers no one knows about!
A Reddit article did a survey of 200 rappers and concluded that out of all rappers, Aesop Rock had the highest vocabulary, by far.
You've just watched one of the greatest drummers in the world... Mr. Gavin Harrison.
That drummer is one of those rare players who realizes that silence has rhythm and that silence can be as loud as the loudest drum. Really killer
Gavin not only fills with silence, but realizes that thumb cymbals and even rim shots can fill gaps when needed. He's a rare breed.
For me Better Than TOOL!
Yes!!!!!! Finally some more Porcupine Tree. This guys are just incredible musicians... check out from their newest album, Rats Return or anything live for that matter. PT is best enjoyed live.
Gavin Harrison is right up there for favourite drummer of all time. I would say maybe even pippin Neil Peart. Saw Porcupine Tree a month ago in London. Mesmerising!!
Genre of Porcupine Tree:
ALL OF THEM
P.S.
Porcupine Tree > TOOL
Close, but you're probably right. Porcupine Tree is very capable of being better than Tool, especially in their prime.
Not even Tool could ever pull off writing and putting together a song like Anesthetize
Travis Green I just feel like Porcupine Tree's ceiling is higher than Tool's. I love TOOL though.
@@jhamilton1007 Same here brother! Saw them live in Dallas on the Fear Inoculum tour 🔥🔥🤯
The level of Tool and PT is such that you can't compare them it's just a matter of taste and opinion there. For me PT takes the cake but that doesn't at all take away anything from the greatness of TOOL! Go PT!❤️
Best band ever. Second ‘Arriving Somewhere but not here’ and ‘Trains’ but also check out some of the recent 2022 album, maybe ‘ Herd Culling’, ‘Dignity’ or ‘Harridan’
Hi guys, glad you liked it. Porcupine Tree and Tool are my top favorite bands and the funny thing about it is than I discovered both bands on reaction channels. Now I buy theier music, see them live... isn't it wonderful? Keep up the good work, you help the musicians too. 🤘❤️
❤
Awesome!
I have been lucky enough to see both Tool and PT live this year. Also Opeth. Haken was unfortunately cancelled but next April is their turn. :D
You guys got to checkout their song "BLACKEST EYES". Very dark and beautiful track.
I think you should react to a banger from their latest album they released after a 12 year hiatus. The song is "Harridan". Awesome drumming with atmospheric progression! One of my favourite bands! Cheers and love!❤️
This is my first time hearing this band. I just saw an interview with the lead musician. Definitely checking out more of them!
They are a deep rabbit hole…lots of great stuff
You won’t regret it, they have sooo many amazing songs, check out Steven Wilson’s (leadsinger of PT) solo stuff as well, and enjoy the journey 😊❤
The Rick Beato Interview with Steven ist awesome.
@@DrGonzo1171 that was the one. I loved it!
My favourite drummer and probably one of the best in the world!. Gavin Harrison is insane, so groovy and dinamic.
Thumbs UP!! Porcupine Tree- Trains...Please!
Check out the heaviest track on the new album, called Harridan. Then listen to Dignity on the same album (closure/continuation). You'll really appreciate the wide spectrum from heavy and dark to simply beautiful.
Arriving Somewhere But Not Here (live) by Porcupine Tree must be your next taste. One of the best live songs recorded
Yep. Gavin Harrison is a great drummer. He's also a member of King Crimson. The keyboard player is Richard Barbieri, who was a member of Japan, a New Wave group back in the 70s and 80s.
I believe they call this post progressive metal. But really they cover many genres. Sometimes they can be full out metal, sometimes they can be jazzy, most they fit into true progressive category as they are usually in an out of many sounds in the same song. Steven Wilson, the lead singer is also a phenomenal producer who has produced many albums outside of Porcupine Tree. He also has solo work that’s incredible. The drummer is by far one of the best around too. They have generally written concept type albums that have individual themes that run throughout. They are really one of the most creative bands out there.
Please please please go down this rabbit hole. Gavin Harrison is the best drummer on the planet . Way out of here live or cheating the polygraph live are two bangers
PT just released a new album this year. Steven Wilson is the genius behind the band. Everything he touches turns to gold. He has produced albums for Opeth as well. The drummer Gavin Harrison is right there at the top of the list of greatest drummers.
Welcome to the rabbit hole!
Try Storm Corrosion album, collab between Steven Wilson and Mikael Ackerfeldt - particularly the song Ljudet Innan, simply beautiful
Its like Tool, Silverchair, and Ghost had a baby😂
Seriously, great song and yall, of course, have to do more from these guys
One of the best drummers in the world Gavin Harrison. The new album is dope 🤘
Steven Wilson is the greatest songwriter/producer/engineer that almost no one has ever heard of. The entire concert that this performance is from (Arriving Somewhere) is a work of art.
Can't believe you haven't heard more from these guys being such big tool enjoyers. You will love them. Time Flies is one of their many masterpieces that is a great introduction to them. They have a very diverse catalogue and Steven Wilson the frontman also has an even more diverse solo career.
More Porcupine Tree please!
Dream Theater, Muse, Porcupine Tree, Trivium, and Polyphia are the most musically gifted bands I've ever heard.
Don`t forget Riverside
They're progressive rock. One of the most underrated bands ever
"Best band you have never heard of" :)
I don't think they are under rated... They just aren't widely heard of. Personally, there is no better band. They are in a league all of their own.
Finally after a long time we have a new Porcupine Tree reaction!!! Please don't forget this band, they have very formidable songs !!!!!
PT is DOPE!
That drummer sure did kill it on those drums!!! I loved the progressiveness of this song!
People that love prog will love Porcupine Tree.
@@metalguru85 Oh yes, I have noticed! I really like it!
they might get mentioned in the vayne of Tool but they are soo much more than Tool
Fuck yes! Im so excited the PT is going into your playlist! Seriously, you should really dig into the deep rabbit hole that is PT/Steven Wilson.
Brah that track was str8 FUNKY!!!🔥🔥🔥
That was the fastest name game guess in this channels history lol.
Nice! Check out Blackest Eyes by them!
Gavin is to drums what Guthrie Govan is for guitar
Omfg! I'm so excited to see you guys doing this one, one of my all time favorite live performances.
I'd love for y'all to react to PERSONAL SHOPPER by Steve Wilson. He is also in Porcupine Tree. It's one of my favorite from his solo stuff
i see porcupine tree.. i click
You put two cymbals together to get baby cymbals... 😂
Nice upload fellas. Wishing you both a merry xmas!
One of the very rare band🔥
more steven wilson please
Finally!
Guys, you should listen to the vocalist's solo work! Steven Wilson. Like "Raven that refused to sing". Or "Harmony Korine" live. That one - only live.
Check out some of Steven Wilson's solo work. He is the singer/ guitar player. Watch the live in Mexico song called Luminol. Creative genius!
🔥🔥🔥 that was so cool 😎 I loved the guitar but my favorite was the drums.
Love this song
Wow... this is totally badass🤘🤘🤘🤘
The best band on the planet!!!
GUYS..... Love the reaction at that enjoyed it so much. There is an unwritten rule with Porcupine Tree.... If you want the killer version alwyas listen to the live version. Steven Wilson the singer/guitarist/songwirter is also a much in demand sound man re-mastering all sorts of 70's albums... His compositional skills, arranging ability and quality of ear are off the charts... Keep on Rocking
Love me some Porkies, hey guys pretty random but you should check out an Australian Drill Rap group called ONEFOUR - The Message they are actually really good.
We need you to do more porcupine tree reviews! Dark Matter. My Ashes. Halo. Sleep Together. Darkest Eyes. Arriving somewhere but not here. Harridan. Open Car.
Af least one every week for the next months ahead !!!
Yes, that man can sing, and he can absolutely massacre a guitar. They're like pink floyd, rush and tool had a baby.
Gavin Harrison is in another band called King Crimson. Check them out. Starless is my fav.
You guys have to check out Normal, Russia on Ice, and arriving somewhere but not here. Mind blowing tracks ma dudes
JUST UNREAL!! Best song and performance iv ever seen.
Wow this was different in the same way that Nirvana was different, but this is not grunge. Like a new Neo Rock sound. I liked this.
Yesssssss this song im waiting for your reaction bro...btw thankyou man... im love you
you should make youtube shorts videos i got 2 thousand views in one hour if you made youtube shorts you could get 1000000 views
That was Gavin Harrison on the drums. Get to know him. You won’t be disappointed.
Fantastic song and a fantastic performance
Fuck yes!
gavin has those " baby cymbals " custom made and also he lathes the bell off of old cymbals too.
"Smooth grunge". Love it 😊
Why....you sau]y? It's a HATE song
Do Alice In Chains - Stay Away
What Happens Now live!
And Danny Carey.
I vote riverside
Bad omen - like a villain 💯🔥
Chillz
Have you ever listened to Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel? Sebastian is an amazing track, check it out.
I’m telling you guys Oasis !! U guys don’t have one reaction of them and we need that
Porcupine tree - Russia on Ice
Galvin Harrison the drummer had those symbols custom-made.
