I can't tell you how many times I've watched these episodes in the past. This is the only show that still makes me laugh, regardless of how many times I watch these episodes!

I've seen all of the episodes so many times and they are so well written that none of them ever get old! Gleason was indeed the GREAT ONE and Carney was indeed the PERFECT SIDE MAN to him!
The look he gives at the very very end will never be able to be duplicated , you literally feel everything through those expressions in his eyes and face !

I was a teenager when this show was already 30 years old. But I remember in the summers when I would stay up later (since there was no school), that I would watch this show at like 11 or 11:30 at night. It always made me laugh and the acting was superb. The combination of comedy and sensitivity was/is something I really love.
I thought it was sadder when Ralph got the news that they didn’t want him in Hollywood and he says humbled , “What am I doing acting? I’m a bus driver.”

It’s funny that this line was later ripped off in an episode of Steptoe & Son, the original English version that Sanford & Son was based on. Plot was very similar also.

She was great except for one glaring issue: the way she ALWAYS stood up for her miserable hag of a mother and NEVER standing up for her husband. That old bitch would do nothing but mock Ralph and Alice said nothing until Ralph defended himself. Other than that, she was damn near perfect.

Coming up in NYC as a kid growing up in the 70s watching these with my dad in which he was a big fan he use to watch these episodes when he was a Ladd before I arrived on earth in memory of my dad is why I still watch em today I've seen every episode there was including the lost ones gd shows

That hesitation thing that Ed Norton does with his hands before signing documents (or typing in this case) was something Art Carney's father did when he was growing up. He just exaggerated it for comedic effect.
That's very true! I had a step grandfather who used to do mannerisms similar to that! But he had OCD. Also, Jimmy Cagney (who Norton impersonates here) got his famous "hitching of his trousers" and mannerisms from a man he knew when he was a kid who used to stand on the street corner and do the same mannerisms.
Sometimes the little things can be as funny as a line or a slapstick/pratfall! Watch Alice's expression closely at 14:53 when Ralph (with that hilariously awful made-up voice) says "Rachel!". 😂😂😂
When I was a kid, my father made me go to bed early. Yet, I never missed the Honeymooners or The Jackie Gleason show. I had a Black and white TV on my dresser. Then put a bath towel over the TV and my head, to block out the light. I had to cover my mouth from laughing so hard 🤣. I'm 61 now and laughing even harder 😂.
The 1999 movie, "Blast From The Past," Starring Brendan Frasier, and Christopher Walken & Sissy Spacek as his parents, has a scene where they're living in the Fall-out shelter and while they're watching the Honeymooners, Walken says, "These television episodes will never get old, people will be watching these for years to come." Boy was he right. Here it is 23 years later, and people still raving about this Ancient Landmark of Television! 📺

When I was a kid, my father made me go to bed early. Yet, I never missed the Honeymooners or The Jackie Gleason show. I had a Black and white TV on my dresser. Then put a bath towel over the TV and my head, to block out the light. I had to cover my mouth from laughing so hard 🤣. I'm 61 now and laughing even harder 😂.
The 1999 movie, "Blast From The Past," Starring Brendan Frasier, and Christopher Walken & Sissy Spacek as his parents, has a scene where they're living in the Fall-out shelter and while they're watching the Honeymooners, Walken says, "These television episodes will never get old, people will be watching these for years to come." Boy was he right.

That line, has been making me ROAR, for 56 years now!! This is one, of my favorite episode's!! Mr. "Fabershem" 🤨. What, a crazy name that is, and I don't know if it's even, spelled correctly. Spell check didn't help. Years ago, my mom's store manager had the same, last name. That always stuck with me, 'cause of this episode 😁!!!
