Hey Taureor , you can use Community Polls aswell!!
no, just make the damn poll.
Taureor: Should We just Ignore our Debt instead of repaying it?
Spoken like a true Greek
as a greek i relate to your message
I still don't get how Taureor can describe himself as kinda apolitical.
@@schadowizationproductions6205 Because whenever he talks about politics he usually tries to keep it in a purely historical (or at the very least satirical) context.
@@WaterVolt1917 The title of the video is ahistorical. The example above is refering to current affairs that are not yet historical. I consider satirical comments on politics to be political. It's not even about right or wrong but the simple fact of taking political positions while denying it.
@@schadowizationproductions6205 I understand the point you're trying to make. I'm just saying that's most likely how he'd try to justify it.
These are great for background noise. I have no idea how to play Hoi4 and there is no way my computer can run it, but it's fascinating watching these. And I love your accent, your voice is very soothing. Good work, Taureor!
Yep, I used to do that until I got HOI4 during christmas
Could you tell us ur computer specs? I used to have a very weak laptop so weak it has i5 second gen and still run it and all the dlcs and many mods
@@De_Soap same
I also have a garbage pc but I can run HOI4 if I turn down the graphical settings
God I remember playing this game on my crap top. Now I have a 3090 and lots of other nice parts and it runs... Slightly better. Loads a hell of a lot faster at least.
Was never ever a fan of historical setting. Makes the game super stale after a couple of games as you'd know what would happen next. Non-historical is fun in a way that the game feels more sandbox-y wherein "anything" can happen and you have to make do with the situation.
Historical is the best if you're interested in achievement hunting. The consistency in when events occur make planning out your own moves far more reliable.
@@SamuraiMorshu not necessarily done achievements like the battle for the Bosporus or Chinese ones your often better off non historical
The problem with non-historical is that some minor nations need events to go a certain way for fun gameplay. It’s fun for major nations tho
Aii
Honestly I’ve seen some golden non historical ones always love when Hungary recreates the empire joins Chinese United and decides to also declare war on French commune while also allying the confederated United States 🤣
This was actually very engaging to watch precisely because you didn't end up with an optimal run. I was much more invested in seeing if you would survive your miscalculation than I would have been in a perfectly masterminded victory. Bravo!
Edit: A mix of historical and nonhistorical would be nice to see because it has a similar effect of making the outcome of the run less sure and that's where I feel that I see your skill come through most!
it might be interesting to try totally random settings on the minor nations with focus trees, but leave the majors as historical
That could be cool, a historical ww2 scenario with communist Turkey or allied Hungary or fascist canada to spice things up could be pretty dope
Exactly my thought too - could change alliances a little but hopefully not cause faction chaos since ahistorical sometimes gets out of hand.
I’m gonna do that next time I play HOI4
I love how the subtitles call Taureor "Torio" and Greece "Grease"
I love how USSR-puppet of Germany still has Alsace-Lorraine in the peace deal but France was in the victory conference.
Non historical makes the game more unique and fun experience. Except when your trying to get an achievement, then its a nightmare.
- Hey, what's your opinion on communism?
- **sees the title of this video**
- I see we agree on something
There's nothing wrong with having a political opinion. I don't get how Taureor sometimes denies it.
Meanwhile in Somalia…
I vote for a mix of 60% fully optimized historical runs, and 40% semi-improvised random runs where you have to work around crazy hoi4 moments.
Hey Taureor…. Remember your hoi4 guide to make hoi4 fun faster…. I remember you should your cpu able to run all thread’s but you never showed us how you did that could you tell us in a updated video showing us view in 2022 how to get hoi4 to run faster step by step???
For me personally, ahistorical makes the game more fun to play when I just want to try something that needn't rely on other countries and decisions. Any other time or when doing specific achievements/challenges historical is practically a must.
Austria Hungary with Germany by your side
You should do your "unplanned" runs on random mode, and the "planned" ones in historical mode.
It's somewhat disappointing to see unexploited strategies in historical mode, whereas it makes sense to just go with the flow in random mode.
I like non-historical but if I’m playing an expansionist country in the balkans I need to set France to go historical for them to do the “buy time” focus to remove the French guarantees
I would love to see a proper democratic historical Greek run, keeping the Germans and Italians out of your peninsula
And he can conquer turkey with the help of the British and the French
Greece was definitely not democratic historically. It was a dictatorship under Metaxas.
@@andreaspapaioannou4765 that’s not historical tho
Least democratic Greece can form Greater Greece for some necessary factories and manpower
A mix of historical and full random games is ideal for my liking
Holy shit I just had a communist greece playthrough as a greek, and here you are making a video as communist Greece, and I’m a half pole !
Taureor has got to be the best hoi4 single player youtuber
I like whatever (historical, non, random) leads to more Taureor videos. Keep up the great work!
In terms of historical or random, it depends on what the goal of the playthrough is. If you're just trying to show a country expanding (so watching a small country become a major power) or going with some specific focus or change, random can add more variety, but if you're specifically trying to show a "changing history" playthrough (for instance if a country like Finland won the Winter War) then go historical. I tend to find the second more interesting.
*puts men on aggressive and refuses to micro*
"We've taken terrible casualties."
I've always seen historical/non historical as a desision of which will make my goal easier. Some things are easier to do if a certain country doesn't go down a historical path, sometimes non historical will lead to Germany invading you 3 years early. I think you should do whatever will be best for your goal in each run
It is fun to watch how do you recover from some mistake.
Historical for guides cause it makes them easier to follow non historical can be funny and random but it can get a little jammy especially late game .Both are cool , variety is always nice
Surviving the Bosphorus DLC is always a success!!!
The focus "The bedrock of Balkan financial stability" can give Greece up to 13 civs. In my opinion this is pretty broken considering Germany gets 12 from its focuses
To be fair Germany starts off with about 40 already
@@MichaelCran1999 yeah true but Greece can get like 17 civs from focuses and 0% consumer goods.
Non-historical keeps us guessing!
Thanks for being a great creator
Great videos as always Taureor! Your voice is so calming, love your HOI4 contents!
I think this shouldnt be classified as failure. We have seen several times with several nations, using the same or similiar strategies to expand minor nations in your channel. This Greece run was a lot more interesting to me than conquering everyone with just ak-47s or sturmgewehrs really. Besides, usually smaller nations cause larger wars, Hungary joining Axis after a declaration of war from Greece was just that, a cause for a larger world war. :p
I like it when you do a mix of game modes
I rarewly play historical, non historical is the thing for me due achivements but i like the chaos in videos the most.
I have a challenge for you.
You have to play Finland you can't join a faction or make any allies and take over all of Europe
I found that a true random major countries and historical ai off for the rest of the countries is a good setup
Best part of Communist Greece is that you can get Monarchists to be Friendly to you (I think you have to do it before you flip). Makes no sense but gets the bonuses!
No joke I actually spasmed out with laughter when I read the title.
I'd like to see a mix of both historical and random
If you have a specific goal in mind (like for instance the last video), historical is probably the best way to do it.
If you're just messing around/exploring a focus tree like in this video I think random makes it more interesting
I do like to see you do non-historical games, as I enjoy when you are challenged and have to adapt to situations you didn't expect. Perhaps a game where every country AI that can is pushing towards Monarchy or similar?
Random and non-historical provide more randomness thus making things more interesting imo ;)
I love the title
I enjoy the more random games since I feel it makes things more exciting; but it may be more appropriate when playing a stronger nation so you have some room for error.
I like historical with ironman...I play with others who like no.mods, traditional(ish) gameplay.
I'd say that you can decide whether to play random, historical or non-historical depending on the run.
If you're experiencing that path for the first time or doing some sort of challenge, I think it's better to run historical.
But if you're doing some wacky run, like Estonia conquering everything or some alternate path for majors, like your last Imperial Federation video, random or non-historical can spice things up a lot.
The only time the Allies don't pour troops into Yugoslavia is when it would protect the player lol.
Not being able to repay the debt after you flip has been in the game for years, so I don't think it's a bug since it's a pretty big thing for paradox to ignore
If I may recommend for your randomness, Do what you feel like, when you feel like it, I personally enjoy the a-historical way. I never even knew that there was a FULL randomness option, I might try that. However, considering your experience with the game, I DO recommend you to try the full random. it might test your skills, and adaptability, and make you an even better player overall ! I enjoy learning from you!
A mix is best! With a slight preference to non historical. The randomness is just so much more fun in my opinion
CAPITALISM = No hunger exists c: we solved it guys, communism evil, hahaha, trust us
I personally prefer non-historical focuses when watching anything but a guide video. Knowing how everything will go is just kinda boring after a while. Pure random may be a bit too chaotic, but non-historical focuses definitely makes me want to see it more.
As a side note, I'm pretty sure you can launch naval invasions from countries not at war. As long as you have military access.
you can launch naval invasions from faction members territories whether they're at war or not, you cannot naval invade with just mill access tho (wont let you set up orders like that, they need to be in a faction)
@@Pykerivous
Ah, my mistake. I honestly thought all it took was mil access.
Mistakes:
- Didn't use "Ideological Loyalty". That's a must for small communist countries
- Went down the left side of the idustry tree. "Force Farmers into Factories" is much better, especially if you're communist.
- Despite Greece having a decent industry later on, Taureor insisted on sticking to basic infantry. You should never have massive reserves of equipment. Once you can properly supply your basic army, focus on tanks. This make pushing much easier and reduces casualties. Alternatively, invest in an air force. Greece has some aluminum after all. CAS is king.
- Didn't use maintenance companies. These are a must for small countries.
- As communist Greece, just default on the debt, there's really no consequences.
well Communists kinda helped my brothers and sisters in Bangladesh from starving
I think runs like this are more interesting. "Go with the flow" instead of conquering every country one by one.
I like historical for achievement guides, since it makes it more consistent and repeatable. But ahistorical is cool for "just for fun" videos.
More historical, less ads.
i always play unhistorical, even that has patterns though but i like to keep it as random as possible it helps me build the lore in my head.
You could form Hellas/Greater Greece from this position. It means war with the allies, but once you control Cyprus, you can core it, the Aegean coastal states of Turkey and Northern Epirus. A big war for a handful of cores. Probably not worth it or fun, but that’s one angle you could go.
I think I have good challenge for you 😉 any country, any ideology, speed run to conquer ALL word. The way to get it is all your choice. You can make puppets, allays etc. But on the end you have to be the only one on the map. Bots will play as historical. No road 66. Your time is set as the date of last peace conference. Can you make it in 3 years? :D
Pisze jeszcze raz po polsku dla pewności że mój komentarz jest zrozumiały bo mój angielski nie jest najlepszy..
Wyzwanie na speed run. Obojętny kraj i ideologia.
"Brings communism and hunger to its neighbors" lmao. Yeah communism and hunger kinda go hand-in-hand.
Mix plz, varied contents always good
umutsuzluğa düşersen geçmişi hatırla direnmek Anadolu demek!
I would prefer a mix of the setting
Play as liberia and play as communist china but go from mao path
The video and name are amazing
I really enjoy the full random shenanigans
Maybe something good to know, you don't need to call in your allies if you want to naval invade from their territory
1-wszy Maj i komunistyczna Grecja - pasuje :)
Form Arabia as Yemen and/or Syria. Form the Macedonian empire as king George. Just some video ideas, love ya content
"Communism AND hunger to its neighbors"
Omfg Taureor 😂
Edit: a mix of historical and non historical is pretty neat
Taureor, in order to start a naval invasion from your allies territory, you don't need to call them in
Lesson learned, never repay your debts
Taureor: uploads on May 1st
Me: why do I feel it's gonna be my country but communist?
Challenge: get fascist than communist than democratic and than authoctratic as Germany (and maybe conquer something)
We are based here, not communist
This video:task failed successfully
3:17 ♂️ignoring is 300 political power♂️
You don't need to call in allies to launch naval invasions from Their lands
I also hate battle for the Bosporus I really don’t want to do the achievements for it
totally random is the best because totally chaos
The making babies scene in that game is insane
i have a question from the time i saw your videos. How you concuer more than 1 country without guarantee from allies
battle for the bosphorus DLC has a shitload of bugs and brtoken focuses, and they're never getting fixed. no idea why
you should do macedonian empire
you go down to forming a new world order or smth and you have to fight the allies and the soviets to form it
I am 12 years old and i already love your vid. How is it whit your son
He prefers videos about cars so far :P
@@Taureor cars, that's unique lol
@@Taureor lol

Is your next video ut
Amazing timing Taureor. Happy International Workers Day!
turning off historical focuses makes for a much more entertaining video, having to adapt to new situations and not being able to plan into every single detail years ahead, and seeing how you adapt is what I personally would like to see
Watched the whole video and didn’t see when they brought hunger to their neighbours.
Stand and deliver
I love your content and way of playing and showing off the game, but I admit that vanilla Hearts of Iron IV is getting a little stale for me personally. Do you think you'll ever return to playing mods like Road to 56, Kaiserreich, and anything that might interest you?
Great video!
think a mix is the best
i'd love if the run was more successful with more territory conquered, debt paid out and no timeskip in recording
but i do agree that battle of the bosporus is not a very fun expansion
i think historical focuses is fine even with a bit of randomness, but fully random is way too unpredictable
maybe some country outside of europe for next playthrough?
Bro has that majestic and rizzfull voice
I love how you added "and bring hunger"
"Brings communism and hunger"? That seems like quite a contradiction
You would say that, wouldn't you... Karl.
@@Taureor What I mean is, although that wasn't even proper communism, the Soviet Union largely lifted millions of starving peasants under the Tsar's regime out hunger and misery. Also, how about you tell the 10% of the world population that is currently, in 2024, starving under capitalism that communism is bringing them hunger.
Do non-historical for a while!
If youre playing none historical, go none historical.
If youre playing historical go historical.
If you tryna go for a challenge then yeah historical. But since you aren’t going to play the historical route, then I would prefer non-historical just for the spice.
But for most of my achievement I got them while playing non-historical…..
Lol, Kingdom Maker is not available in my country...
Sadly I can't download the sponsored game because it isn't available in my country
I like historical on for ai predictability.
I prefer non-historical but keeping the focus trees. Random is just too random imo, and should only get used if you play a game in a boring part of the world, like SEA/Oceania or South America.
