I think the foundation series could be worth a lot one day just because they are rare, who knows.

@@voxtek The Tesla Roadster is quite obsolete, I don’t think they even have any kind of fsd and yet they are probably holding value pretty well. Apparently one just sold for $250k which is way over the original price
@@ryanchappell5962 The roadster has held its value because there hasnt been a new version. If they come out with a different version of the cyber with updated batteries, etc. Why in the hell would the original be worth more, it wont.
It's a bargain for anyone who can get one! There's nothing even close to it available on the planet. A true once in a lifetime opportunity for a few people.
A big part of it is getting the vehicle sooner.
Anyone who's taking delivery isn't worried about the money. It's virtually a non-factor for those who have the means to afford it.
They were previously driving an SUV that got 8 miles per gallon LMFAO 💰💰💰 was never an issue then either

The Cybertruck is so unique and has a practical capability. However, at this point it is not for me but there are at least two features I especially like.
The Drive-by-Wire ability is so terrific where you can get a full wheel turn by only moving the steering wheel about one half turn. Also, the steering wheel itself is fabulous in that it is somewhat square and you can more clearly see over the steering wheel. You can also easily place your hands on the mostly flat top part of the wheel for a better position to drive as well as to comfortably rest your hands down on the mostly flat bottom part of the wheel while in FSD or just cruising without it on…… so Terrific …. It would be Great if TESLA would offer these features on all of their vehicles. I am hopeful the new items will be available for the line up in the near future.
You can order the dual motor version if you are invited to the foundation series.

Considering you could probably sell it immediately for $250k, I’d say yes. This is probably a massively low estimate.
I've watched enough episodes of fast n loud to know low VIN numbers are worth a lot more than an extra $20k. Throw in some other custom factory stuff and it's a no brainer IMO.

If you have the bank, this definitely ranks in the highest echelon of potential hyper collectors vehicles since the last of the 70s muscle cars. Getting a garage queen of one of these could be on par with a 1954 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing. Concidered by many/most of being the first Super Car. This Truck is equally ground breaking in the automotive world.
I do believe that only applies to the Founders Edition. They will make millions of these compared to the tiny output of the 300SL Gullwing.
I don't think anyone has a better new and up to date truck IN THE WORLD
Limited production ICE vehicles appreciated as they were more powerful then the generations that followed, especially pre 73 oil embargo and emissions era. The opposite would be true with a BEV, perhaps 2x driving range and other solid state battery advantages.

I wouldn't use my EV as a power wall unless it was LFP chemistry. The extra charge/discharge cycles will lower your range otherwise.

Tesla has delivered 12 Cybertrucks - non were this version so what are you talking about - more hype that will never be delivered - ever. THey have 2 million back orders and they can't put out 1000 Cybertrucks a month - at the current rate they might get to your "limited edition" in 2098.
If you are Jay Leno it makes sense. He is in the business of buying rare cars in hopes they will appreciate like fine artwork. A collector might be willing to pay a million dollars plus 10 years from now as long as he doesn't do something silly like drive it. I still like to imagine him drive an old Pinto as his "every day" car.

Only 1000 foundation series? How do they count on it? I just got an invitation to buy the foundation series from an email. However, although my reservation is quite in the front comparing to the total 2 mil pre-orders, I am not the first 1000 pre-order or even the first 10000. Let's say I am at 30000 pre-orders, are those 29999 people in front of me able to get the foundation series? then that's not limited to 1000.
Hell yeah the Foundation Series is worth it particularly if you already have solar in place to charge the truck and run your home. As you mentioned you get all the inverters and such to allow the truck to plug into a powerwall system as added power backup. Its a real deal if you wanted more backup storage! Depending whether your utility will buy enough power from you, you might be able to completely pay off the CT in a few years using that money.
On another thing you mentioned....studying history one realizes that culture shifts and reverts constantly. It does not progress linearly and it often completely reverts to be similar to earlier forms.
Take the Roman Empire for example. At its peak, women held high offices, owned businesses, and property under the law. After that empire collapsed the former culture in the conquered regions took hold again and women were generally unable to hold the positions they once had.
Elon is a student of many things and exhibits an overall knowledge of history and how culture can radically change. He also understands how the advancements in human culture depend on not losing the culture's technology along with the means of producing that technology. In the Roman Empire that technology was military tech along with rule by law.... making lawyers valuable lol... and civil engineering (particularly in harnessing water).
This is why Elon realizes it is so important to get humanity established on other planets. Without this, it is just a matter of time before something causes human civilizations to collapse and lose their technology.... this causing the side effect of losing the cultural advancements also.
Wokeness, along with all other cultural overlays (over and above the basics of shelter, food, clothing, and raising children) will come and go. Whether they just go out of fashion or through cultural calamity disappear all together. Things change... this too shall pass.

Yep. Imagine having a Cybertruck just sitting in a farm field year after year. Always ready to work. Reliable, sitting on steel wheels, never leaves the farm. Decade after decade. Hauling hay, plowing, hauling gravel, towing livestock.

This edition isn't worth it. Just think.. Same hype with the iPhone 3G when it came out. Gotta have it first... now look. You see one on the sidewalk, you'll walk right by it. Sure there are people who really want the first of everything. Good for them, their choice. Personally, I'd be happy to let some time go by, perhaps there's something they change, software that they make better, cost comes down before I'd get mine. At least you're not gonna be bothered everywhere you go by people asking you about the truck. That would be just too annoying.

Tesla should release more Cybertruck Foundation Edition. Minimum 100,000. Cybertruck has 2M reservations.
Several new documents containing details of the Tesla Cybertruck posted to the EPA’s website, give a better understand the efficiencies the truck will achieve. While Cybertruck should perform better than nearly all its current competitors in the electric pickup segment, the slightly smaller Rivian R1T has it beaten even with larger wheels and battery packs. Rivian appears to be in the pound seats on performance and Ford F-150 Lightning on cost.

Currently we are looking at a race between contestant that are bleeding out. It is far more important that these electric trucks get to profitability. What consumers pay for the price is important to consumers. But profitability is what will keep them in production.
Still too early too tell. GM maybe slow walking Silverado WT production as it is doing with the Hummer EV. Fewer sales cost them less money. That and they are pushing all other variants out for at least a year.

@@1620rx In the U.K. The Cyber truck does not conform to EU and U.K. law on pedestrian safety the Rivian does apparently, though given the sales of those vehicles in the U.K. between 4,000 to 5,000 annually I don’t see it happening unless self imported.

Much as I dislike the Cybertruck, I have to admit this is a genius move by Tesla to take easy money from those who clearly have far too much of it to waste on toys. Charge crazy money and make big profits, it helps my share holding.

CT as a trophy and not as a working man’s tool. So CT is competing against Hummer. Sell a few thousand and ‘wow, game over for GMC Hummer” which has only sold…a few thousand. CT in all its guises is too expensive and looks like it will not be contributing much to Tesla’s bottom line. By the time the cheapest CT is available, Ford/GM/Rivian will be making their second generation. Since their first gen is competitive, then the second one should be more so. I fear Tesla blew the moment.
