The fact you can ride it without power is the game changer. My old Ebike was not compatible with being ridden sin gas and therefore had a very real range of 35 miles. You were then walking home, pushing a heavy bike.
15 years after getting back on a road bike at 50, three heart attacks later I have to keep my bpm to 126 max= dropped like a stone on the climbs in group rides, so.... a month ago I bought a Pinarello Dyodo which has the hub mounted emotion electric motor with the battery in the down tube - A GAME CHANGER!
I just bought a Creo and I love it. Did a 115 kms ride and 1,500m up recently and it was so easy and enjoyable. Great bike. When the motor isn't on it just glides.
You didn't really ride 115kms and 1500m up though. The motor did a fair chunk of it. It's good that you got out but think about getting fitter. Maybe start using limits to motor use so you get stronger. If you're able bodied, push yourself and then you'll become fitter and stronger. There lies the huge benefits of cycling. Good luck
This crew is the total A-Team. I want to see you all in a Mission Impossible style movie, but on bikes. Dustin: charismatic leader. Doug: the muscle. Ron: the sexy one. Abe: good with knives. Sukho: the assassin. Devin: the wild card.
If people need an E-bike to take up riding, you already have a problem. The motor encourages laziness and reliance on assistance. Be honest - how many able bodied people do you cycle past on totally flat ground using E-bike power to move along every week? For me it's a lot of cyclists. You're not going to buy an E-bike and then trade it in for a normal bike if you're already looking for help to begin with...
Great video...I've owned a Creo E bike for 2 years ... rides like a gem. Early in the season, lots of power..later in the season as I build endurance not so much. Love that I can do greater distance...it's a gem. thanks for the video
You guys are the best . I love your passion for the bikes. I'm older then you guys but I still love to ride bikes. My baby is now a 2021 Domane HP ebike. Riding is so much fun, I don't fear long hills anymore
Im in northern california for a month, and have been (using) a Creo. everything he says about it is true, how can I go back home and ride my plane old Scott bike after this. Hands down my best experience on a road bike EVER!

It's pleasant to ear French. Generaly I don't understand every thing you say but today... it's the same. J'adore tes vidéos! Merci à toi et merci à ton ami Monsieur Orange.
DK you should’ve got the auxiliary battery that fits in the bottle cage. Gets you an additional 30 to 40 miles. No more range anxiety. I have the cheaper Turbo Vado SL which is the most versatile and fun bike I’ve ever owned. Works great for gravel, road, commute
This is so ffffff good for those who like to take pictures/videos of his friends and making awesome montage and b rolls. Awesome videos man, much love and support all the way from the Philippines 🇵🇭
As a native Oregonian who burnt out on most things Portland, you guys make me homesick and remind me of the good times and good people back home. Having ridden the Creo, I agree. It's not a scooter, it's a bike, a real bike, an awesome bike. People think they are mopeds, or every time you ride it, it's automatically in Turbo mode, and that's just not the case, at all.
I live in the Bay Area and bought the Turbo Creo SL expert actually in Portland after test riding while on vacation. I love that bike. I adjusted the standard mode battery assist down to basically compensate for the weight of the bike. I use it in that mode for most long rides and climbing and can get better than rated battery life. It is so nice to bump up the power when facing long miles in head winds or just need a bit of help on a stretch of a long climb. Bottom line there is now no ride too steep or too long with this bike. It is also really comfortable and smooth riding bike.
Oh man DK! E-bikes are pretty amazing - not ready for one yet, but every borrowed ride is delightful! haha!!! My biggest hangup is that I do not want another thing to plug in- I try to be a minimalist. But I am not an e-bike hater, although I don't care for the throttle ones. Dig the vids dog. Cheers, Steve TTF
Considering that you'd only have to output another 30-40 watts to make up for the added weight of the Creo, you can program its level one (Eco) to output this amount (roughly 10% with a 40% response rate) and the battery reserve will be quite enough for the long ride. You program it using the free app, Specialized "Mission Control". If you added a "Range Extender" external battery you'll be able to easily complete the ride, with an amount to spare that could have been used for more output from the higher level (Sport) keeping Turbo at 100% for those times when you may need it (steep hills, wind). By the way, you don't have to turn it off to get no power as there are FOUR (not three as you stated) selections of power. Just keep the top button pressed for a few seconds and the pedal power will be off but its internal power meter will still output to your bicycle computer.
Thoroughly entertaining video. You get all the salient features of the bike covered in a milieu of fun cycling camaraderie that reminds me of many of the group rides I've had with my buddies over the years. I see that Portland is still just as wet as usual in the winter as it was back in the early 90's when I lived there. Neat logging roads and rural sections. Good tip on the Epic Rides app. Kudos to the video editor.
I ordered a new Croe 2 Comp on Monday, and then this video popped up in my feed. Visa, are you feeding my data to the YT algorithm? In any case, great video. It's good to know that the bike is definitely rideable with no power. Guess I'll hold off on the range extender option. I can't wait for my Creo to arrive whenever Specialized decides to ship one to my dealer.
Jim, you're gonna have a blast with the Creo too. It's even better than mine plus it's silent, which is a huge bonus. Enjoy that new rig. I can't wait to hear about the adventures you go on.
went on 170 mile trip. 7000 foot elevation gain, only on the internal battery. Left the big climbing for the assist, and the rest, like a bike, no assist. Was loaded with camping gear as well. Went to turbo for the last 10 miles, got home with 30 percent charge. Loved the help up. The rest was a good bike ride.
That's definitely how an ebike should be used. I bought a Vado 4.0 last summer. And it's really been a game changer for me at 71 and not riding a bike since 1975. But it's dog heavy and a slug if you should lose the assistance. Yesterday at my LBS I was offered test ride on a Creo SL. Holy moly!!! Such an amazing bike. Without assistance it's a great bike; even old farts can ride unassisted (such as myself). But when you turn it on, it's kinda subtle with power in lower level. Like you know it's there but not enough to feel guilty about using it and you can still get your workout but extend your personal range so much further. And then there's second gear 🤣, the second power level, still somewhat subdued but definitely you know it's working. Great for cruising while exerting maybe half of your regular efforts. And finally turbo 😝. When you really need some assistance or just because you have it and want to feel the wind on your face. What a machine. Now to figure out how I can afford one. 😳 Great video thanks. Subbed
I discovered your channel last summer and I have to say your videos are so entertaining. The music, the editing, you guys joking around. Much love from Germany!
Great video, best cycle vlog on UA-cam. That bike is perfect for the working videographer. . Plus by not using the power you were pushing 30 plus pounds uphills. That’s a workout. The elevation in your rides is awesome. Thanks.
Can’t wait to get my Turbo Creo SL Expert EVO on Saturday. Seems like not only you but any blogger testing the bike was absolutely stunned. Thanks for this great review! 👍🏻

My wife has an ebike ordered, hopefully arriving in 2 months. Hers is more commuter style and weighs 45-50 lbs but she is stoked and a lot of your thoughts resonate with our experience test riding. She is hoping to commute 9-10 miles much quicker and ride with me at a faster pace.
Loved this video. Getting a Turbo Creo SL Expert EVO this weekend. Worry some friends will give me grief about buying an e-bike, but I hope I enjoy it as much as you did!
So cool. From Portland. Have ridden most of those roads but not all in one day. Just ordered my Creo SL Comp Carbon and I am stoked. Will swap to knobby tires when I start some trails.
Video is tops...period! Limited experience on e-bike for me means my opinion salt to taste, but my sentiments exactly. I’ve been thinking of getting on e-mtn bike for extending the range and helping me climb the grinders, but now it’s gonna happen!
"Totally thought this ride was going to be too much for this battery" barely uses the battery during the ride. HAHA. Good to see how much you can ride this without the assist, until you want it. I am VERY seriously looking at one of these right now due to worsening health issues, and after looking at every e-road and e-gravel bike on the market, this just make fit the bill. I'll finally be able to do my old climbs again!
Man! Im all about the E-Bike. If it helps you get a bunch of rad shots then bring it on! Edit: I also love when we get to see everyones snacks. Always love the bonus food content.

Have the Creo EVO Expert. Even though I'm not devastated after a long ride (50+ miles), I still get an awesome workout because (1) I don't have the power on all the time - only on hills, pretty much; and (2) I'm lugging a 30lb bike when I don't have the power on. Fun video!!
I've been riding the Creo for 2 years. A lot of my buddies on the group ride still thinks of it as a cheat. That is until I turn the motor on and pull the entire group home into a blistering head wind! I have the aluminum version which is about 50lbs. It's definitely difficult to ride into the wind and that is why I bought it primarily for those windy days down here on the coast in South Texas. I've raced for years, still ride a Venge on calmer days. I just don't want to punish myself anymore, so I really don't care what anyone thinks anymore, it's too much fun to ride and you can make your own pain or ride ez on those harder days. When I turned 60, it was my gift to me!
i’ve got a bmc alpinchallenge soooo much fun. no pwr ridin out get coffee sit around for a hour stiffen up at 59 years old then full pwr back in. fn amazing bike.
Love my Creo. 3000 miles in 4 months. Leave the bike on the whole ride, to shut off the assist when you want by holding the mode change button for 2 seconds. It will show battery bars but no assist bars. In eco at 35% I do about 4wh/mile. So 80 mile range.
Hey Ed - I just put the remotes on and its how it was meant to be (well the hack where the left shift lever controls it is _really_ how it was meant to be). Its great having the light hooked up to the main battery, too. Will never forget it again.
I rode this route today, got home and now I get to recap it. I thought I saw a lot of tire tracks especially between the gates on wildcat mountain, musta been you guys!
Super cool to see it work so well for your shenanigans! It seemed like you talked more and were a bit more animated - prolly due to not having to work quite so hard!? Awesome vid, Dustin.
Today...day #2 on my Turbo Creo SL Carbon...one take away...there seems to be an optimum cadence to each power mode in order to max speed out for effort in...all good ;-)
While there are several clicks on the dial, the Future Shock 2.0 compression damping has only two settings. Open and closed. Setting the dial in the middle is the same as having it set all the way open.
Welcome to the party. Absolutely amazing isn’t it? Just wait till you realize how strong it makes you feel when your analog bicycles… That’s the next revelation
They should use a dyno hub to recharge the battery, maybe actuated by a switch to turn it on and off like a secondary brake. I can't see myself using an e-bike but I wish I could afford some for people in my family to get them into riding.
If I like you...that is so awesome but if I somehow don't like you...that is also awesome. gots to say another highly enjoyable video and its my 3rd one that I have watched. I like your style mr Klein.
Haha! So much fun hey? My wife has an Ebike and I'm trying to hang off buying one. When we're climbing I look across at her smiling at me and tell her to at least pretend to be breathing a little harder. Yes! Just a matter of time and I will be on one. The refined bikes are happening. Also... Are the Dexter gloves really the same as Sealskin? Great video again. Love it.
As a relative noob cyclist, but completely hooked. (got bike last May, wahoo & strava in June... 1600+ flat IL miles later, I'm seriously looking into upgrading from entry level tiagra trek to ultegra Di 2 & carbon frame canyon.) I get it... using for filming & making your vids, or for commuting to/ from work. But for the fitness rider or mile eater I don't see the need. I get motivated by segments & miles markers, electric motor is cheating IMO.
Nice, mostly a roadie, it is fun, started with an Orbea Gain, love it. mix on/off pwr, have never experienced a flat battery... even 60+ miles. Creo must be like an Orbea Gain on steroids, with at least another setting... or two. Me like!
I'm still on the fence with E Bikes. These bad boys are so expensive down under but look cool! PS: 9:29...a guy rides past with a gun on his handlebars!! Only in America!
@@EverythingsBeenDone I wasn't a fan of Ebikes originally as I thought they were cheating but I see now they have their place especially if it gets people especially elderly people outdoors and active.(In March we met up with an 80year old couple fromMelbourne doing the NZ A2O Trail on Ebikes!). I think I'll stick to conventional bikes for now. The Specialized Diverge look good but Giant's Revolt seem better value for money here in Oz. I do love the Cannondale Topstone with Lefty but retail for $5600 here. Much of a mute point here because we have no stock in Australia atm.

that hunter packout rig was the coolest shit.
Welcome to the party. Absolutely amazing isn’t it? Just wait till you realize how strong it makes you feel when your analog bicycles… That’s the next revelation
Ohh boy I cant wait ;)
Love my eeeeb but nothing beats the real thing. I definitely loose strength when I stick to the eMTB.
Very interesting!
Yeah but if it gets you off the couch, then you gain strength.
Rocket bike looks ace, I’m currently fat and lazy, so it would be perfect! 😂👌
This thing is so much fun!
Absolutly Fantastic What A GREAT BIKE!!
Yeah but did you use the dropper seat post 😉
Yes I did
@@EverythingsBeenDone nice
Extra weight = you only slower 🤣All my bikes are 30+ lbs. gravel, fat and turbo Vado SL... and all are a blast. Great vid!
So Awesome! Does the batt get affected by the cold?
bike looks sweet! and another classic dklein episode! overall great experience haha
Man I’m jealous, these rides look so fun. Just gotta get a gravel bike and get to the other side of the country.
Christ, could you imagine having to spend a day with these guys?
Dustin that was well cool and the bike is Mint! I need to start saving for one of these baby's without the wife finding out. Lol
Damn, 32lbs for a fully loaded ebike is amazing. My aluminum gravel bike is 25lbs without water bottles.
You rock!
@@EverythingsBeenDone hi dustin thanks for the reply. i don't really Instagram...I am what I would call social media shy. peace.
Specialized take my money!
Best-edited cycling content on UA-cam!!
Awesome....what we call 'Fit for Purpose'.....perfect for you DK....Im a bit concerned Ron would get alot of speeding tickets if he owned one!!
Lets get Ron and e bike and a good lawyer ;)
Love it.
G'day Dustin, that was a fun vid. I love the new E Bike.... Thank s for creating these great videos.
You rule!
I hope they give you ten of those! You sold me.
Player!
More videos about your Ebike please 👏👏
I have more coming!
Nice, mostly a roadie, it is fun, started with an Orbea Gain, love it. mix on/off pwr, have never experienced a flat battery... even 60+ miles. Creo must be like an Orbea Gain on steroids, with at least another setting... or two. Me like!
You gotta try this thing!
I'm still on the fence with E Bikes. These bad boys are so expensive down under but look cool! PS: 9:29...a guy rides past with a gun on his handlebars!! Only in America!
S does have a $5K version which is still expensive but 1/3 the price of this rig.
Magnifique Monsieur!
Awesome!
