Happy Ho-Ho-Ho! A tech question: What is your favorite DAW? I'm struggling through learning Ableton, but is there something more 'human' to use for creation? What do you use with your ambience tracks?
Ya Ableton is great and super popular but it's super geared towards DJing, live performance and electronic music in general. I use Logic Pro X. I've been using it for over a decade and it's still my DAW of choice. When you get more advanced/professional there are definitely some more advanced things that other DAWs can do that Logic can't. But for me, Logic is where I'm "at home" and feel the most comfortable. And I'd personally rather be comfortable and focus on the music and my creativity than have a bunch of technically advanced options. You could also try FL Studio, Cubase or Digital Performer for other options, though they are all pretty similar :) Merry Christmas!
Tony Anderson is amazing and "Immanuel" is my favorite of his... Brett is definitely standing beside him as one of the great ambient creators of our time.

Hi there!!! Your work is amazing. Can I ask you about the audio? Midi? What synthesizers do you use? VST, plugins? Logic, Cubase...? Do you use anything analog? What kind of pedals, delays, reverbs...?
Hey thanks! I use Logic Pro on a Mac. I have a large collection of instruments including guitars and pedals and stuff but I don't use that very much on Futurescapes. Futurescapes music is mostly software instruments from companies like Synapse, U-He and Spitfire Audio. FX are from companies like Valhalla, Baby Audio, Dawesome, Soundtoys and a bunch of others :)
I’d love to! It’s one of my all time favourite franchises and OSTs but wasn’t sure how many people were into it. I’ll do something again soon, maybe a City of Glass winter scene :)
Oh god the image makes me think and ask questions. Try to imagine spending Christmas there completely alone? a real hell? and now with a beautiful girl... things totally change :D.
