This mv was full of parallels to “Billy Elliot”, less so shots, more so story. Specifically Seungmin, Lee Know, Hyunjin and Han.
The area with the boxing ring is because the main character of Billy Elliot was made to do boxing. However, what he really wanted to do was dance.
It’s like a call-out on toxic masculinity and forced masculinity basically.
Seungmin, Hyunjin, Lee Know and Han are presumably doing boxing (more specifically Lee Know and Seungmin, who are practicing until Han and Hyunjin come in). They then have a small and playful dance battle. Fun little detail I noticed. I’m… not exactly sure as to what Bang Chan, Changbin, Felix and I.N were doing, but just a little detail!!
(Side note: Billy Elliot is a largely perceived queer story, so it and the whole album being released in pride month is quite nice.)
I think Jeongin's part was a reference to French movie "La Boum" The headphone part
Also the video is directed by Novvkim, who is openly gay. (They've directed Red lights and the other unit mv's from Howl in harmony, Easy, Drive, and many other SKZ videos!)

@@Tini-luke Did you even fully read the comment you and I are replying under (the "side note" at the end specifically)?? That would be the biggest hint to why I wrote that. It matters for recognition and more importantly for representation - especially in a country that leans more conservative when it comes to LGBTQIA+ issues.
@@Tini-luke Because it could be a reason why it was specifically inspired by Billy Elliot because he’s considered a queer icon. I feel like that’s quite obvious why the directors sexuality is important in that context.

What I love about this video is all the dance is freestyle- no set choreo, it's about how dance and music can be liberating and allow you to express yourself, but the ending shot is I.N saying 'without anyone knowing' seriously to camera, because the song is about the fervent wish to be free and expressive but still hiding it to a certain extent because there is this idea that society or circumstances will not allow that easily. It's a more subtle but very beautiful song and video. I really liked it.
I.N was working in maniac, mopping the floor and he’s also mopping the floor here 4:02 it may be connected? lee know and hyunjin were boxing in venom too, there’s boxing in DLC too!

So obviously you have I.N at the beginning sad looking at the dancers out the cafe window while he has to work. Looks like he's stuck and can't get out. That's until chan puts the headphones on him and "opens his eyes" and we see Felix's dance break. And then he breaks free too and they all dance. But at the end it's a somber "amugo morege" by I.N as he looks pensively at the camera.
So maybe he has broken free but not truly. Maybe he has the illusion of having broken free? Because it was chan who put the headphones on him to 'help' him break free, and as we al know Chan is the main villain of skz lore (maybe along with Lee Know), and has constantly in multiple videos try to control I.N under the guise of supporting him, I.N always seems to be the one to become aware of what is going on and tries to 'escape' but Chan (and recently Lee Know along with Chan don't let him- s class). At this point we know Chan has been controlling Hyunjin too (district 9, astronaut, all of red lights) and has completely turned him over to his side, and hyunjin has done the same to Felix (oddinary era). Also interesting, how right after putting on the headphones- I.N sees felix dancing. or what do I know, super vibey video tho I'm in love.

I loved it!! This is referencing "Billy Elliot" movie. The film is about a working-class boy who discovers a passion for ballet. Billy's father sends him to the gym to learn boxing, but Billy dislikes the sport...

This song/mv is inspried of the story/movie about billie elliot ( a teenager that was forced by his dad to start boxing, but secretly elliot falls inlove with ballet ) You can see alot of refrences from that. Gosh I love this

DLC ( or the mv ) is clearly influenced by the story of Billie Elliot :) so its a similar storyline
That's what I think too 100% ! The ballet and boxing alone point to it. And the lyrics "without anyone knowing" stuck to me too 'cause billie elliot had to hide is love for dance.

Released during Pride in the US I'm thinking this isn't accidental in many ways because they put entirely too much thought into release order and dates.
