- The LP/DW Latin Drum Set for percussion -
It is not an official LP name or trademark even, but at Drummerszone we call it the 'LP/DW Latin Drum Set'. It is a combination of instruments LP and DW launched and showed at the NAMM show in January. Several of the new instruments that LP launches this year were smoothly blended into a full set-up that not only percussionists would like. You can see the 2-Sided Snare Cajon, the Low Boy Hi-Hat and the new Jingle Rings that you can mount on any Hi-Hat. The DW 5000 Low Boy Hi-Hat is also actually a full instrument that comes with cymbals and a carrying bag.
Watch the video to see what you can do with LP and DW instruments, and check all the specs of the instruments on Drummerszone:

A little Drum History: The "Low Boy Hi Hat" here is actually the original. It was Gene Krupa that lobbied Slingerland, back in the day, to raise it up to a height playable with sticks. In time Hi Hats made the ride cymbal a thing of the past. Also Krupa pioneered using the kick drum in the studio and lobbied Slingerland again for 'tunable' tom toms!!
Uhhhh, would have liked to have heard the drum.
Can the snare cajon itself be played like a cajon, with snare and bass/kick sounds?
love how diverse and personalised dw lets this get
