The first influencer even started further back from the first obstacle than the marine yet still caught up! Very impressive!! And I don't think she had as much experience with these sort of obstacles either!! Well done her
I think she trained for that part of the obstacle back home & thats why she aced it. Next time make it higher & deeper but instead of going down. Make them go down underneath one time & back up 2 times then run up the wall. Thats the test
Yeah making it a very short event so build on pure quickness really worked in the influencers favors. If they did it on endurance the marienes would have easily won
I'm a Marine veteran, so definitely rooting for my Marines. Would like to point out that the obstacle course was done by the Marines in boots & utes which any vet will tell you is significantly more difficult than your average PT gear. Those boots got weight to them! But good job all really!
That needs to be noted in a big way. Lack of sleep changes everything, whether trained or not to perform under that condition. The one with lack of sleep will experience loss of endurance and strength, concentration, stamina etc. They should redo this one. I’d love to see them all perform under the same conditions.
The influencers did surprisingly well. Especially in the first part. But I got to hand it to them, ALL of these women had tremendous upper body strength.
Yeah but they are also lucky that many of these tests were made purely for speed. Would the obstacle course for example be made more towards endurance instead of just like an 2 min event, than the marines would have absolutly crushed them
One takeaway for me from both groups is that when every woman in this challenge reached a point where they couldn't give anymore they grinded it out and kept going even if it was for only one more or two more reps. Always push past your limits and take everything you can!
The thing the Military does really well and probably better than any other group of athlete is carrying heavy loads for long distances, and you actually saw this demonstrated here. The fitness influencers really struggled picking up the water jugs and carrying it for a long distance. I just genuinely don't believe this type of exercise is really replicated anywhere outside of the Military and it' s one of the main reasons a lot of super fit people fail certain Military schools since most of these schools involve some type of long-distance road march. It's really hard to prepare yourself for something like this in the gym.
True. Idk why influencers skip doing carriers when it’s actually one of the best exercise you can do at the gym. Gives you a lot of resistance and core strength.
As a US Army Master Sargent I will have to add another crazy thing to this challenge. Keep in mind, influencers only have to focus on working out, Marines also have to spend time hand to hand combat, weapons training, and field time not including deployment. Plus the ladies did it in heavy bdu's and combat boots. This was almost like Pros vs. Joes lol. Great job ladies on both sides and you Marines represented and made the uniform proud. Hooah
Yeah those other push-ups wouldn't really count as reps for our fitness exams. Body should be straight all the way up and down. Rotating your hands at an inward angle half was through activates other muscles, so you can do even more
I just knew in my head that the Marines were gonna blow the influencers out. Pleasantly surprised. This video is a motivation to all of us women, no matter what you do.
I'm team Marine. As a vet, ik the outfit choice made a difference. I'd have loved to see the first obstacle done with either everyone in pt/athleisure wear or the influencers also wearing boots.
Marines are shaped to fight men and the influencers are shaped as models but overall I have to admit the influencers brought their game and it was impressive ❤
Each team was clearly stronger in different areas. I would have expected the marines to win. They have to be ready. The influencers did an amazing job. Definitely gave them a run for their money.
I’m very surprised everyone was expecting the marines to win. Does no one have military friends, or remember what it was like for them in the military? An amateur who focuses on fitness will always best a military member in any athletic endeavor. The military workout regime is designed to build you up mentally as much as physically, which is to say it’s not optimized for physical development. An amateur who focuses on athletics on the other hand will focus solely on physical development, and these girls are professionals so they’ll be a cut above an amateur. Not to mention, military members don’t follow an individualized plan; they use one size fits all. To me this seems more like putting a marine who boxes in the marines against a professional boxer. The pro will win every time.
All of the challenges were tough good job ladies. But even as a former Army soldier who has trained with Marines I know they are trained to never quit and give it there all every time.Beast mode!
I honestly think influencers did an incredible job. Marines train exactly this way everyday ! Specially the first round. Influencers don’t do that and yet they nailed it 🎉
Marines do not train like this everyday..part of the reason ppl believe marines are combat gods is bc of all the LIES marines tell. They want u to believe that they are some type of immortal robot when there just a regular human.
Influencers definitely did well! but the 1st round the Marine Girls did it in heavy boots and cammie pants. Both teams should've been in identical gear to make it 100% fair.
@That’s Seaux Nish I was a Marine. I can guarantee you we don't train in boots like that everyday. It's usually green tee with green shorts and some running shoes.
love the support and encouragement from everyone for everyone here, moments where one of the ladies where maybe about to fall out you see their teammate encourage her and cheer her on to the finish line and i really love that the third workout in the third part made me hella nervous i saw the ladies having moments they were going to get hurt but their teammates were on it making sure to grab the equipment before the ladies got hurt overall i really truly love this video makes me so happy to see the teamwork and encouragement from everyone!
Great job both teams. What I notice about the marine team is they are trained to endure and survive. It's not just about getting there first. The fitness team performed beyond my expectations 💪🏼
I was buzzing they channel, i would say they are not "Average" or standard they def do some basic stuff nothing special But the idea they almost SMOKED UNITED STATES Marines the strongest and hardest elisted service on the Planet is rather concerning.. Being a vet going though the training, this was just imbarrasing and shows how these double standards are hurting our brances.. and why on the bench preses their partners sat aside standing while random MEN spotted them? I only say this as this PC none sense of double standards in the military is so high, this shows yet another reason why Tiktokers can beat US Marines.....sad
I was impressed by the influencers. They had more stamina than the marine girls and were quite strong. The marine girls showed their strength in what they train for.
There is no such thing called "influencers", everyone influences everyone, you were influenced by this comment. "Influencer" is the same as "reactor", there is no such thing, you can't "be" any of them because everyone does both all the time. You are influenced when you walk down the street, when you read the news, when you drink a cup of coffee.. Everyone reacts, you reacted to this comment.
@@OriginalPuro lol what, ur comment isn’t gonna change a job title. That’s what they are referred to because they’re INTERNET INFLUENCERS. Get off the internet please.
Gotta give it to the influencers . For the marine this is a job, for the influencers , its their passion. Mad love for these sets of athletes . They were both incredibly strong.
Well i will go for marine…. No disrespect to influencers but I don’t know if they do anything else after workout as i have mostly seen insta models and tiktokers representing influencers.
It’s kinda sucks that all influencers get a bad rap because being an influencer isn’t necessarily a bad thing and we actually need those. Influencers can promote so many bad things like drug use, bad behavior, junk food so we should be happy that there are people encouraging others and showing them a way to be fit.
The problem with the influencer mentality is the 'look at me, look at me...I'm so hot syndrome' they all seem to have - without the mental and physical strength to back it up.
Not done yet but just after the obstacle course I am mad impressed by the infulencers. Both of them fell behind, but managed to catch up and overtake. The first one paced well and made a remarkble decision to jump further on the net to get ahead. Genuinely brilliant. The second one is so quick too. Mad respect.
@@sharpe8888 Yeah, on the obstacle course, I realized the influencers were accustomed to these common activities in their competitions and routines. Little tips like leaning/jumping forward to gain a bit of extra distance. But it makes sense that they'd do well b/c sport specificity is a big factor in training. And that includes doing obstacle courses for time in competitions, versus doing obstacle courses for a passing grade (where 1-2 seconds don't matter as much, except perhaps to qualify for different brackets of qualification).
Hats off to the influencers for winning the obstacle course. These tend to be a military thing and I was expecting an easy win for the marines. Congrats to the marines! Great job to all competitors! I couldn't have kept up.
I thinknif the Marines were allowed to wear tennis shoes instead of combat boots on the obstacle course, they would have smoked the influencers. As someone who's ran his share of o-courses, footwear makes a BIG difference.
@@raisolo3815 Interesting. I ran a number of courses myself in combat boots and in running shoes. It never felt like it mattered and in the muddy ones I preferred boots. That being said, I was never timed and have no specific comparison other than what it felt like. As such, I defer (accept your statement as fact) to you if you have actually done timed runs on the same course with boots and running shoes.
@@smithers4420 Back in the day, when I went to boot camp, you ran around in boots all the time and never thought about it. While I agree with your point. The thing is, to me at that young age, running in boots felt as natural as running in running shoes. Yes, the shoe are easier on the heels and knees over a long distance. These course tend not to be that long. Also, I've lost a couple socks in tough mudders due to running shoes. While shoes were faster "in theory", when you add in the time to put the shoe back on, the shoes were slower.
Awesome competition! From the beginning, I could observe that the marines train for endurance. They were really pacing themselves. I think military training is not so much about who gets to the finish line first, but who gets to the finish line ready to go on. The influencers are fast for sure. But at the end of each obstacle session, they are winded. The marines look so calm that they are ready to hit the next obstacle course immediately! Overall, Excellent performance from all the participants!
In the first one I thought the opposite, they led and were running behind after so it looked like they lacked endurance. But in the following activities I agree with your statement.
@@DONQUIIIXOTE What made the difference was the V-net. The "influencers" jumped lower on the net so they had less of it to navigate. It was their technique.
I like how encouraging the women are to each other. As well as how Austen wasn't.. condescending in *anything* he said or the tone in which he said it. "Pulls are a difficult exercise, they take practice." While a LOT of people I've heard have used not being able to do a pullup as an insult. It is difficult, and watching this was nice.. wasn't toxic and just a nice competition each are beyond strong in their own right. They're just in different lives and professions!
So much respect and love for these women. Happy to see ya’ll challenging yourself to be better and feel good. Both marines and the influencers were amazing 💙✨
The push-ups was really interesting seeing their different forms and how they use their scapulas very differently and how they flare or tuck their elbows. Marines seem to use more efficient form even if it doesn't "target" the respective muscles "correctly"
He actually told the marines to kip, I think they were not familiar with the movement. Not to mention their elbows were flared out way too much during the push-ups. The influencers overall had a much better technique.
I’m in the army, the marine gals killed it. They’re form and the way they performed is how us military personnel are taught from the beginning! Good jobs ladies🦅
Seriously? Their form was bullshit. How about the half reps in bench and push-ups? I mean, they are strong, but they by no means killed it... they basically cheated. Also, its "their", not "they’re".
Is there a reason why you (and many other women, you're not the only one) seem to need to specifically see women to feel motivated? I'm a guy and watching these ladies push themselves to their limits motivates me just as much as watching guys push themselves. Fitness is about pushing yourself past your previous limits, not about pushing past other people's limits. So you should be able to feel motivated watching guys as well. You don't have to match their level of performance in order to match their level of intensity :)
@@moonlitegram As a girl I feel the same as you too. I feel motivated by anyone doing their best in fitness. But I think the reason why many women feel motivated by other women especially is because in the past women weren't allowed to these things, and now when the gender norm are being broke, it motivates them even more
@@moonlitegramm inspired by both men and women in fitness. However, I don’t see it as often in women (in my experience many women where I live are not in shape and don’t care, or get surgeries to avoid having to actually go to the gym) so that could play a part. I see that more in men in everyday life. I like seeing the hard work from anyone. It’s also nice to see a reflection of how my body may look once I reach my fitness goals.
@@moonlitegrampersonally, I'm in awe by both sexes but physiologically, the male sex have an easier time gaining muscle due to their hormones. However, as I said, I'm very impressed by both and men can inspire me - just not in the way I see myself in these women. Both are motivating to see!
I'm an army vet and fitness enthusiast 3-4 times a week. Both teams were excellent, those women are strong, and work well as a team. That upper body challenge was hard but I knew the influencers would blow that out. Mad respect for all of them!
This video made me smile 😁 to see women competing but also encouraging each other and they definitely gave each other credit 💘 love it let see more of this 😊
It makes sense that one side was better at running/jumping but the other side was better at strength+ endurance. It shows how different types of training can really affect bodies. I was on the marines side the whole time still....
The Marines are used to doing things strictly...they gotta use their lower bodies more on the push press. A little tweak on form there, they both have the power to crush that even more. I'm super impressed with all the competitors! 👏👏👏
I'm trying to gain weight like always with push up bars on one day, and 18 lbs. warm up dumbells, with a 35 lbs. kettlebell on another, horse stance and squats, I'll definitely have to get a roman chair and maybe some chin up bars as more of a cave lionen snake type one of these days, must be gaining at least a little weight with all the protein powder and bananas anyway though. Sumos eat chonkonabe to gain weight with a dashi or chicken base, while some ramen noodles with a couple eggs, salami, and tabasco can't be as bad as my mom thinks, as there's usually always room for more noodles anyway?
Marines had poor benching, influencers were way more strict. Marines kind of disappointed me, fitness influencers impressed me. Fitness girls also way stricter and stronger on pull ups and push ups. Better athletes for sure, the fitness ladies.
Well done marines! Nailed it in those heavy boots and what looked like less than comfortable uniform. Your endurance training was on full display and I enjoyed seeing you both show us all what time it was 👏🏽👏🏽
Super surprised that the marines did not ace the obstacle course...thought that was like the main training they wen through...but great performance. The influencers sure blew me away with how resilient they were!
As an active duty woman, I naturally cheered for the Marines. But I absolutely loved watching the influencers’ technique. You can tell they are very serious about their craft.
@@guybrielhawk9659 Same, but I just don't like influencers and marine women were prettier lol that being said, this entire video was bs some form breakdown from marines, and some head start for marines as well, same with the pushups, the influencers had stricter form, harder to perform, pull ups, the chair was on the side, using more eogyxen and abs to have a rest.... also made no sense why they get 1point for one exercise, and then it counts as two.. so all in all, these videos suck
I was actively cheering against the influencers because I hate that title and profession....but I have to give it to them. I was really impressed. Makes me think differently of them now.
There’s a lot of hate on the push ups but as someone who is in the army currently, their form was good up until they got tired and I can tell you that it happens to everyone. Nice job to both sets of ladies and I love the motivation.
The marines had their arms at 90 degrees which is MUCH easier and not really proper form. The correct form is actually 45 degrees which engages your chest and triceps more. The influencers were doing harder pushups.
Thank you so much for your healthy/fit-life channel. It's very inspiring, especially for someone like me who was once extremely fit, let myself slide over the years, and am now sick of my current fitness (or, rather, lack thereof) and who has begun pushing myself and am determined to get to my best level ever, even though I'm much older. And, thank you--and all current servicemen and servicewomen and veterans--for your service to our country!!
As a retired Marine, I am Team Marine ALL DAY!!! Now I will give the fitness influencers their due props with the brick swim, push press and pushups, BUT if they had to do the obstacle course in boots and utes vs sports bra, tights, and sneakers it would have been a TOTALLY different story. WE know the Marines had on way more weight. Overall, all of these ladies are BEAST!!!! It takes a lot of endurance, speed, and core strength to do everything they did. CONGRATULATIONS LADIES, YOU ALL ROCKED IT!!!

"We"? Lol. They have the strenght. not you or other woman. You cant claim points for someone elses work just because you share something in common like gender.
Actually, as a lady who works out, they did ok in my book. Those pushups were embarrassing. The pullups were on point. I don't get why they got to lay down and rest...it resets the count when the do that. But then again I'm a rock climber so...
I love this so much. It shows how different their approaches are to different work outs and shows that you can achieve strength/fitness in different professions❤️ please do this more
Wow as a woman who has gained a lot of weight this is amazing because I haven’t worked out and they have my dream bodies this has definitely inspired me to go to the gym and work on my health n body for the better no more excuses I’f these ladies can do it so can i
What is kind of neglected here is the fact that the Marines are performing everything on the obstacle course in their BDUs and not in their PT gear unlike their influencer counterparts. This gives them a slight advantage over the Marines.
I would also say, THESE ARE MARINES. The best of the best face obstacles much more challenging than this. If books make that much difference, then maybe the influencers should be marines lol
These ladies did such a great job!!!!! Side story, push press isn’t supposed to have a re-dip. So both of the influencers were actually push jerking all of their reps 😅. They really should have covered it before doing the challenge and made sure they were all doing the same movement. Or just said shoulder to overhead, and they could have done whatever.
@@Hhhhhhhhhhhhghhhh she started playing softball for our school pretty much the second they announced it was a thing and she was always one of the better players. So I'd say yea she was pretty athletic back then

Im a 19 year old woman and I’d say it’s about consistency. It takes months of just doing a little at a time, and you push yourself by doing just a BIIIIT more every once in a while. You start with 1 and hold a plank, then you can do 2, then 3, and soon enough you’ll increase by bigger intervals, like oh I can do 10 so I must be able to do 15! You’re capable of so much! Don’t give up ❤❤❤❤
Both teams did a great job. I did notice that the influencers did a much better job with their form. Everything looked crisp and clean. The Marines could work on their form a little bit. You can see that Alli works very hard on her body and she's in great shape for a reason!
They are all so amazing..can't pick a team. Both team are motivating and so strong! They are all fitness influencers in a way, im definitely influenced and inspired by this! 😊
Some of the marine push-ups would not count in PT test though. However, those pull-ups! Complete beast!! OASN: this was a dope video! I was rooting for the influencers mostly because the truth is, anyone no matter their job position can be physically fit 💪🏾
I would say none of the marine pushups count because they were not going all the way plus letting their bodies sag the whole time. They were not good pushups At All. Influencers had much better form on that. Should’ve had a tie breaker since the marines cheated on the pushups. LOL
@@StrawberryPropertyManagement The influencers did not have better form. Saggy backs the whole time. The marine's form, while not perfect, was much better.
Really intersting to see each teams comparative strengths vs weaknesses. You can see where they each train the most I think. I do think that the influencers had better range of motion in the pushups tho. Fun competition to watch, I would have no chance against any of them.
Keep the competitions coming. Even if it's the same match ups, with different competitors. I'm LEO and love seeing the different departments and branches compete
An overlooked factor in the result is the mental aspect. This is not life or death, but for a Marine... everything is!! On one last note, these two groups train differently and have different goals. These challenges did favor the Marines winning because their endurance/pace is just better. Semper Fi Marines
I had to pause the video in the middle to let them rest their arms lol. Such amazing fitness from both teams, definitely inspired me to push harder in the gym!
The “push press” was really unregulated/unclear. The marines were doing push presses while the influencers were pretty much doing snatches. It went from a shoulder workout to a full body.

Plus the ladies did it in heavy bdu's and combat boots. This was almost like Pros vs. Joes lol. Great job ladies on both sides and you Marines represented and made the uniform proud. Hooah
I am sure they have MOS and specialty. Working out is just a part of their work.
So that means that they shouldn’t have lost the first round don’t you think
I was thinking if that was the difference maker. I'm glad to know an expert confirmed it
Yessir, the one percent 💯....
The army is not for women.
The last influencer has the best push up form. I'm sure shes the lightest one but still very nicely done.
They didn't really.. they both won 3 events but for some reason the swimming pool was worth 2 points

Both of them fell behind, but managed to catch up and overtake. The first one paced well and made a remarkble decision to jump further on the net to get ahead. Genuinely brilliant. The second one is so quick too. Mad respect.
Surprisingly it was more of a technique rather than fitness issue for the Marines
Makes me wonder how they would've done with boots on.
there is a big difference between wearing boots and sneakers and the size difference on each person plus weight advantage

I would also add that wearing leggins vs pants with a leather belt makes a difference too. Wearing leggins gives more flexibility
@@winoodlesnoodles1984 You really couldn't feel a difference? Boots is way harder!
Thought those girls being called influencers would get smoked but that obstacle course was an eye opener…new respect for these girls
I think the pool showed that off a lot more

Is there a reason why you (and many other women, you're not the only one) seem to need to specifically see women to feel motivated? I'm a guy and watching these ladies push themselves to their limits motivates me just as much as watching guys push themselves.
Super well done to all these women. The competitiveness and athleticism was crazy! All 4 women are amazing
Yeah if half the group wasn't US Marines..
this was sad honestly...glad we are lowering the standards thogh :)
@@EndlessTravelswhy are men such crybabies. So emotional constantly and so insecure. Like they just need to feel superior in order to stroke their egos it’s effin weird
Nice!! Good job ladies. Proud of both team
I am impressed of how strong these both teams are. I could never stand doing push up that much. So proud of them!!
i had no hope for the fitness influencers, but my god even though the marines did over head press instead of push press, dani's form and technique was so good
Austen never fails to peak my interest and I just want to watch more of his videos, not only are they entertaining, but they are also educational, teaching us what people do in order to make it
