An Amazingly and awesomely Unique Unity of KBK &Abhishek with excellent accomplished accompanying violinist Akkarai Subbalakhmi ,Anatha in Mridangam &Sunderkumar in Kanjira I am listening sitting in my room in Chicago What a feast& treat for my ears.
Excellent concert! Took place in 2015 but has been brought to our listening pleasure after six years! Obviously,someone had a jealous and sole claim to the tape. The ending Mirabhajan sliding into the Namanaadhakriya is adorable.Todi with the super composition of Shyamasastry is ‘out of this world’. Nice to know that BMK is a disciple of KVN. Is there any other occasion BMK and AR have sung together again? Both the violinist and the two percussionists enhanced the level of the concert.The overall energy transfers to the listeners in full.
When we listen to this outstanding concert ,the question arises .when are we golng to set up a system to ldentiffy inspiring gurus such as PSN. This performance is one in a million.R.S.C.Murthy. ,Los Angeles.
Am just getting accustomed to terminologies so am guessing in that magnificent thodi alapana there was a graha bedam into kalyani??!! Pls correct if wrong ... what a great concert 👏🏼👏🏼👌🏻👌🏻🙏🏼🙏🏼💐💐 well its obvious if you have a great team right!? 😅
Yes, there was a drift into Kalyani by BMK.Even though, Todi and Kalyani are not close to each other. Could it be because the great composer,Shyama Shastri, has introduced “Kamakshi-Kalyani” in the Anupallavi and BMK wants to reflect the composer’s intent in the Alapana too? Again,Abhishek drifts into Sankarabhararam in the last ten seconds of the Alapana,much to the amusement of BMK,but does not revert to Todi.I have no plausible explanation for this surprise close to the Alapana.Excellent!
it is awesome this. concert and made available here. in these pandemic times, this is musical comfort. This as in many such concert last few weeks, would have been nice if co artists are all wearing the masks. vocalists can be exempted but safety distancing essential. wonder if these SOP guidelines are adhered to . Asymptomatic spread of this notorious virus cannot be ruled out. sometimes they show the screenshot of the audience and many wear masks as chin guards. Take care folks as your music is required for now and future !
Why is Abhishek not able to sit without shuffling his body every other second? While things like sabha mariadhai etc apart, watching the video becomes a challenge..
